The two deskmates chatting together, ignoring the existence of the new student in their classroom.
Li Yuna, the new student were surrounded by other students, especially male students. She was a petite, cute, and had a good communication skill under her sleeves. In no time, she conquered the whole class with her down-to-earth and friendly manners.
Suddenly, the classroom fell into silence with the arrival of the class leader, Jiang Li. They quickly stopped chatting and went back to their places. Li Yuna looked at Jiang Li with an obvious interest in her eyes.
She sat up and moved towards the boy with confidence. She introduced herself, " Hello, classmate. My name is Li Yuna, a new student from Violet City. May I know yours?" She reached out to do a handshake with Jiang Li. But, sadly, the man was popular with his harsh and bad temper attitude. He frowned and glared icily towards her. " Get lost!"
Li Yuna scared, almost crying because of the sudden harsh treatment from him. " I- I...just wanna be friend... Sorry." She quickly excuses herself and went back to her seat. Her face crumble as line after line of tears wetting her cheek. Her deskmate, Ming Yue quickly coax her up. The other students speechless at this sudden turn of situations. Julia Rose and Rira were dumbfounded at his cold shoulder treatment towards the poor girl.
What was wrong with him today? This question flooded the other students' minds. In normal day, Jiang Li would not be this harsh to others. At most, he would glared coldly and never shout out like this. Losing his temper was not his style.
Rira shrugged off and ignore it. Julia Rose turned back, continue to read the book. A complicated feeling flashed in her eyes after secretly glanced at the back seat.
Same for other students as they mind their own business. It's better not going stepping on the tiger's tail. As for Li Yuna, she only sobbing silently, no longer dared to strike any conversation with Jiang Li. This man was terrible and cold.
She felt truly wronged this time.
The day continues peacefully until the last bell rang throughout the school. Rira already told Raymond about her going out with Julia Rose. The boy could only advise her to be careful at road and go home as soon as she's done playing outside.
The two girls stepped out of the classroom, only be confronted by Jiang Li at the door.
Rira raises her eyebrows, and Julia Rose frowned. " What is it?" Julia Rose asked. Jiang Li stared at her and said nothing. His eyes flashing with a complicated emotion. " Father asked us to go home together." He said.
Rira startled and looked at Julia Rose with a questioning eyes. The girl bit her bottom lip, evading his eyes. " No, I'm going out with Rira to play. I'll go back before dinner time." She said before quickly pulled Rira away. She turned around and saw Jiang Li turned his back toward them.
" Hey, are you alright?" Rira asked after walking out of the school gate. They walked slowly on the road, as to give Julia Rose times to calm down.
" Umm," She gave out a short answer after a moments of silent. Rira sense her unwillingness to speak more, so she decided to shut her mouth. They are not yet that close to speak about personal matters, so she understands and not forcing more.
However, to her surprise, Julia Rose spoke out. " Our parents remarried a month ago without our knowing. When they introduced us last night, we're so surprised." Julia Rose kicked off a small stone while walking.
" Jiang Li's father was my mother's childhood friend. After my father passed away two years ago, my mother started busying herself with work. Unknowingly, two years passed and I heard some rumors about my mother dating someone. I confronted her and talked about this matter. And then I know she's already remarried behind my back."
" I'm not a child anymore. I can understand if she wanted to remarry again and heck, I won't opposed it. But, she's ignored my feelings and opinions, never talked about this with me. And now, she wants me to accept him as my father out of blue? What am I to her? I'm her daughter, her flesh and blood. It's that hard to discuss it with me first?"
Silent.
Rira speechless. So, that was what happened...it was unexpected.
" Last night, after disclosing the news to us, they wanted to stay in one place together as a whole. As a family. Can you imagine my feelings at that time? Jiang Li too shocked at this sudden news from his father. He had a big fight with his father, and almost getting hit." Julia Rose laughed, but a bitter sense struck her heart. Rira walked, silently accompanying and listening.
" To be honest, I truly can't accept it. Too sudden and it caught me off guard. If she discus first with me, at least I can prepare myself to know him before deciding on. But, she...just go and marry that man without me knowing anything. So what if that person her childhood sweetheart? So what if she knows him? I don't know him, and to me, he's a stranger." Julia Rose stopped. Rira also same. She looked at her with some sympathy in her heart.
Alric never talked about remarrying with them. If he wanted to, the three siblings would agreed. It's not that bad anyway and they big enough to understand his loneliness. However, Alric was a passionate and loyal man. His love always for their late mother, Jane. The way he treated them enough to see his heart already dead set on staying single until his death.
Julia Rose sighed, looking up to the sky. Lament, " Well, he's not that bad and he treats my mother so well. I can see his love for my mother was sincere and genuine. Only, us children was hard to accept it." Julia rose smiled, no longer speaking about it. Rira pats her back, giving Julia Rose a silent support.
" I'm hungry. I don't want to play game today." Julia Rose changed her heart as fast as changing book's page, making Rira speechless.
She rolled her eyes, " Whatever. I'm free anyway," Rira decides to follow her fast my-pace attitude. Its not too bad to befriended Julia Rose.
" Thanks," Julia Rose laughed. The two went into a family restaurant and started ordering food like two hungry beasts.
