They knew what she was planning to do after seeing a few of the formations she was making. She was planning to create real illusions using the elements and even poison.
But these kinds of formations were very difficult to make, since it involved laws that even them did not fully understand.
Liang Meng however was not really a stranger to them since in her previous life she had already began to study them, however was never able to exactly create a real illusion.
And for a long time her progress was really slow, that was until the Medicine God came to ask her for her help to make formations to make sure that no one ever bothered him when he was making something or in his bad temper he would poison millions, ans from them none would have even the slightest chance of survival.
And if he did that in his rage there would be a chance that those good for nothing sorry excuses of hypocrites of other gods would come for his life, so he held back whenever anyone disturbed him, only killing the people responsible.
But since he was getting angrier by the day since he was the best when it came to healing people would come to beg him for help, even if it meant their deaths, so he rarely had any chance to dabble entirely in medicine.
So he paid a steep price to make Liang Meng help him and who would have thought that while doing that because he offered her incredible pills she would actually find a breakthrough in illusory formations and it actually had something to do with the brain of the human body?
That Medicine God talked a lot, really a lot when he was with someone he knew so he started talking for a long time and when he touched the topic of "making people feel something that is not real" she was instantly lost in that topic and spent weeks in there studying it with him.
However she understood that that was simply a shortcut and not the real thing so she must take full advantage of this opportunity to study and create a real illusion since if she could make one of those it would mean that a lot of formations that were previously thought to be impossible to make anymore would be able to ignite many formations masters' hopes and ignite once again their competitive spirit and probably make a new golden age in formations.
Liang Meng obviously didn't care for it, she only wanted to accomplish a real illusion to be able to more accurately study many of her opponents' battle styles and weaknesses or perhaps have another look at her own faults from a different angle. It could be said that her intentions towards real illusions were rather odd since formation masters usually used illusions to trap or kill opponents not to study them or themselves.
Real illusions were said to have been used like that in the past, but many thought that it was simply a rumour that grew out of proportion, but now in front of her was the living real proof that it was not an exaggeration but in fact it was real.
As time progressed the elders frown transformed into a grin as they immediately stopped attacking their disciples and began to jot down their findings.
Liang Meng's formations made the disciples think they were easy at the beginning but now they started feeling it strange, especially so because they felt like they didn't advance at all even after using all their strength to try and close the gap between them and Liang Meng.
Some started feeling cold even though they were in the middle of a fire formation, some began feeling weak and vomiting all over even though there was nothing around them and some began to see illusions of Liang Meng and even formations where their fellow disciples should be at.
This frightened them immensely. They barely had any noteworthy experience but even so they could figure out that they were in the middle of an illusion formation, and although it was immensely far from being a real illusion it could still trap them without them even noticing.
From the outside the elders could clearly see what Liang Meng was trying to accomplish, to build a gigantic illusion formatiom that could twist space to make it seem as if those inside were indeed moving, but in fact were not, perhaps even build environments inside it with real temperatures using the elemental formations amd slowly poison all those inside it.
Basically building a world inside a formation, this was another way to call a real illusion, it was basically a world of its own that had "form" and one could travel as far as the eyes go.
Liang Meng was still dissatisfied. This formation was indeed quite good, but it required a gigantic amount of Ki to even operate. Her goal at the moment was to make a formation that seemed to not even exist in the first place, and to do that the formation had to first, move and secondly to almost not use any Ki, much less use unnecessary Ki.
