The ground rumbled moving some of the stones and rocks, the tree branches swayed as the speed of the carriage raised and charged through the series of branches, making the driver take the full swing of the leaves and wood. He grunted as the horse neighed speeding up again as he traveled the forest.
His black haired was a mess as his blue eyes glowed with a steel hard determination. His villager clothes full of scratches and blood, a middle aged face full of wounds. His face still retaining the handsomeness even with the scratches and wounds.
He looked inside the carriage and saw his wife breathing hard as she struggled with her big tummy. With her beautiful face pale from the pain, her silver hair flowed down to her waist as her wine-red eyes expressed the happiness, panic, motherly love and other emotions into his eyes.
He was shocked at the blood his wife spilling out but steeled himself as he forced himself to smile at her. Seeing the smile, the wife also return with a smile, a gentle smile.
He turned his head to the road again and sped up. He estimated that they will arrive at the village in another 5 minutes and reminded his wife In his mind,
(It's only 5 minutes, we will arrive there honey, don't worry. We will have that baby born safe and sound.)
Seconds passed as the carriage traveled "peacefully" as they didn't run into any danger as it isn't my plot.
------
The sound of the running horse was heard from the village as a carriage stopped in front of a house. The other villagers was confused at the carriage arriving at their village.
(With this time of day?)
All of the villagers who saw the carriage thought the same thing as the sun is already out and the moon is already shining bright at the earth. After a few seconds, they dismissed the irregularities as they did their own business.
The driver, the husband, jumped down from the horse and hurriedly opened the door of the carriage and saw the struggling wife. He carefully lifted her of the seat as he carried her with a princess carry. The pale wife, somehow have a slight red tint on her cheeks as she breathed hard.
He turned around and knocked at the wooden door, sweat appeared on his forehead at the pressure and hope. He hoped that the child will be safe. The house of his best friend, his only hope, appeared on his mind.
The door opened as a goddess looked into his eyes. Spotless white skin, beautiful black eyes that when one human stare deeply, their souls might be sucked into them. Pink hair that reached her neck and oval shaped face. She is wearing a plain white dress, but that complimented the goddess, still making her beautiful even with a plain mortal cloth. Seeing that an old friend visited her house, she can't help but smile. Her cute voice was heard,
"Really~ long time no see max♪. Do you still wet your be-"
Max can't help but get a twitch in his eyes as he gazed at her black lines filling his face. He knew that the mischievous goddess might tease him first before scanning the atmosphere first so he cut her first,
"I need no time for that carol, please let us in! My child is about to be born."
Carol froze for a second and took a peek at the bleeding wife before she took a serious face nodding at max, letting them in the house.
After entering the door, the should be wooden house changed into a beautiful bedroom. There's paintings on the walls, a floating lamp powered by something mysterious power which made max shrink his eyes to dots before looking around again. There's a huge bed with a royalty-like designs embedded on the supports, the sheets are light pink and a mysterious long stick was on the shelf next to it.
Seeing Max's eyes wandering the room, she can't help but retort in her mind, (your wife is pregnant and giving birth right!?).
Rolling her eyes, she waved her hand in the air and the room changed into a white space, leaving the bedroom. She flicked her hand only to softly lift Max's wife on the air and laying her down on the white floor.
"Where is this? What is this? What are you doing to my wi-"
Shocked by the scene, max drilled carol with questions. Carol's ears twitched at the rapid questions and just rolled her eyes at max waving her hand again at the air, magically stopping the nuisance.
If some villagers saw this, they might have a heart attack. A truly beautiful goddess with a slightly handsome blood colored villager using a godly power stopping him from blabbing anymore. Really, blood.
Almost all of the people doesn't know about the mysterious force that carol used, but they know that there must be gods and goddesses in their world, maintaining the balance of the world from war.
"..~~.."
Max struggled to say a single word but can't even lift up his lips. After a few seconds of struggling, he just gave up and gazed at the old friend who is chanting words that he, max, didn't understand at the least.
"..~~&&~~.."
Feeling Max's gaze looking at her, she shrugged her shoulders and continued the chanting of her [spell]. The pained face of Max's wife slowly turned into calmness after a gray light enveloped her whole body from carol's hands.
Suddenly, Max's vision blacked.
