Chapter 241 - The Sewer Necromancer.

With the rewards away, I took the time, despite my body's protests, to put together a meal for the party members when they came back. To my surprise, as I was starting my prep phase, I noticed that my food bar was going down now, and I could finally eat again. The buff from the last feast was over, and I shivered as I realized I stuffed weeks of food in my face in one day.

So now I could finally eat with my party, and I started making food for myself as well as theirs. It took a bit, but I got everything started and was humming as I was working at it. I was almost finished with the food when I heard the door open, and I heard sighs of relief. It was clear that the Party had been up to something that wore them out, and when I came to see them, I could smell them.

"You smell like rotting corpses and shit!" I exclaimed, "Go wash yourselves!" I exclaimed, and the ladies looked at me happy.

Iona and Viccy moved toward me, and I stepped away, "BATHROOM NOW!" I stopped, holding my nose as they stank like shit, and they all turned to look disappointed. I went back to the kitchen, and I heard them moving upstairs. As I was finishing, Gloom came down first, looking happy. "Dinner looks amazing," Gloom said, "Thank you for dealing with my heat the other week. How did the quest go?"

"I got a lot of good rewards, including Gold, which I plan to use to help create a shop to sell Mark's swords and some nice equipment meant for seduction," I told her with a large smile.

"That is good to hear. I have a feeling that your abilities will be crucial at the party again soon. We have been taking a lot of odd jobs, but after the plague job, we have been-"

"Cleaning up the city more or less," Viccy said, coming in with her shirt off and a towel around her neck, showing off her Double D breasts.

"It has been incredibly boring but rewarding. We have made fifty gold for the quest today. Unfortunately, there was a Necromancer den in the sewers where we did a job." Gloom said with a sigh, and I winced, "It was supposed to be a quick cleanup of some monsters that somehow got into one part of the sewers. The problem is that we ended up finding a necromancer's abode, and they had a lot of undead looking to eat us. The Necromancer was not home, though, so we got an extra reward for it, but we need to look into the Necromancer now." Gloom sighed.

"You sound annoyed?" I asked her because, if I remember correctly, she had a neutral affiliation, and I had no idea her stance on Necromancers.

"I am, Necromancers can be a blight. They used to be really important to healing. Then the damn righteous started to get annoyed at them and forced them into the shadows. Since most of the damn Necromancer healers were humans, REALLY pissed them off. So the human righteous and the Necromancers went to war with each other, and the Necromancers used their ability to bring some things back to life, like limbs, and learned to create skeleton armies and zombies, which then started vampires and more. They used the bodies of the people they used to treat to make themselves into one-man armies to defend themselves against those damn righteous assholes who deserved their hate. What we all did not know would happen, and the Necromancers start to spread over time, is not Corruption but blight. If they create undead in mass, the undead start to feed each other's power, creating Blight, which decays the living just by proximity and becomes a walking health hazard to the world. Now, Necromancers are not bad, but creating a horde of undead for no reason is as bad as it seems this Necromancer is. Death is a natural order to things. Death creates new life, and interrupting that cycle should only be done sparingly, which this Necromancer spits in the face of."

That was an information dump, but I now understood her annoyance, not anger. "Oh, wouldn't Necromancers then also help places grow after their hordes pass by?" I asked. I mean, they kill all the plants, and they would rot or something, and it would lay waste to the current living in exchange for fresh forests that will grow from the aftermath."

"You are not incorrect," Gloom said as others started to join in, and I set the table with food before them all. "Necromancers are not banned because of it. But things are more complicated than you can kill things because they grow back. Somethings can die and never appear again, like some animals that use that forest to survive."

"I understand, so what is your new quest related to this Necromancer?" I asked.

"We are now looking into finding and capturing this Necromancer. We found a clue that they might have set up a laboratory in the slums somewhere. We asked the Hellfire church if they had any clues, and they had not heard anything." Gloom replied.

"Well, I got news that there might be a war of Factions coming up soon. Not the stuff at the bottom war, I mean at the top. The Demon, the Neutral, and the Righteous are potentially going to war over things soon in Dark City. If we are going to make some moves, we should do it soon," I told her. "Could you all use my help to look for information?" I asked. "Share the Quest with me, and I will see if there is anything I can do to help."

"Sure," Viccy said, and a moment later, I got a notification.

Hidden Group Quest: The Sewer Necromancer

On your clean up of the sewers you ran into a laboratory of a Necromancer that seems to be raising a larger and larger undead army. After cleaning out the lab and killing all the undead inside there was a note you found which names an Inn but do not know where the Inn is.

After reporting this Necromancer to the guild they have hired you to hunt down this Necromancer and capture them alive or dead.

Rewards: Adventurer's Guild Reputation, ?????, ??????, 100g if captured alive or 75g if brought in dead.

"What's this about the Inn?" I asked noting that they did not mention it to me.

"It is the Sewer Inn that was mentioned," Iona said gaining my attention and I looked at her. "We have asked a couple of people in the guild but no one has heard of it before. So," Iona shrugged and I nodded.

"So its a hunt for this Inn which probably is in the Sewers," I said slowly, "Do you want me to help?" I asked thinking it would be nice to join the party again then i started to regret offering. I mean, who wanted to go digging through the Sewers?

"I think we could use your help discovering where the Inn is," Viccy said with a large grin, "That is unless you want to go digging through the Sewers with us once again,"

"I'll pass," I replied, "But i can try and help with some information gathering. Obviously not tonight, my body is not up to anything tonight. I am still sore and twitching all over. I barely made it home and need another night of rest after that party."

I saw a bunch of disappointed faces and I smiled.

"Too bad, I was hoping to play with you a little." Gloom said with a mischievous smile and I shook my head as I finished my food.

"Sorry ladies, I am going to shower then go to bed. No fun stuff for me tonight. Body needs to recover, hopefully I will have recovered by tomorrow," I told them and like that I did as I said. I headed upstairs to let them clean up since I cooked. I headed for the bathroom and started to wash up. To my surprise no one tried to join me and when I got out I simply walked to an empty bed which disappointed me a little. I couldn't do anything with anyone right now and I felt weird that I was disappointed. I got on the bed and crawled into bed and put my character to sleep logging out.
