Meeting up took a little longer than we thought it might, and after the days doing this, I was excited to pick which factions we would run with. It wasn't much of a hard choice when we got there, either. Viccy and Fidel were talking at a street corner, watching a priest. It seemed like being kind to a woman. The priest of some type of holy faction was touching the woman on the shoulder, and I saw a young child with her in her other arm on the side, away from me.
The Mother suddenly motioned for her child to do something, and then I saw the child start overly thanking the priest. I hated the look in his eyes, whereas before, he had looked pious. Now, he looked like he was happy. You could even see it in his eyes, and the mother started to thank the priest as he made some motions toward the girl, and I heard Viccy sigh.
"That is it, fifteen blessings today and no sign of anything other than this guy being a bit of a creep," Viccy said to Fidel as we approached.
"Yeah, after my interactions with the holy faction, I found them very creepy as well," I told them, and I got nods all around. "Honestly, I only got attraction from looking on the younger side," I said, giving a look at Viccy that told her that I might think a conversation outside the game was in order.
"Well, enough about that," Fidel said, her voice flat, "You are here for a reason, talking to us."
"You're completely correct, Elli here," Iona replied, taking over, "Found the cure and has three vials of it. We should pick which three factions we wish to support in the Slums and move to do it today."
A series of nods went around, and Viccy jumped in, "I think the Hellfire Citadel, the businesswoman who gave us the quest, is the easy option. I think no matter what, those two should be included; the problem is, who else?" Viccy brought us to the real point.
That made me think as well because she was right. Who else other than those two? Would Lady Yancy even be interested in this? Something told me that she would not really care at all. "Maybe Lady Yancy," I said, thinking out loud. "The brothel I work at is a powerful faction here in the City. Something tells me it might be a waste, but it also shows loyalty. If I don't offer it," I grimaced.
"You are thinking that even if it is unimportant to the faction, it might affect you negatively in the future if you don't at least offer it?" Fidel suddenly jumped in, and Gloom chuckled.
"I mean, if I were in their shoes, I would want the option of at least telling you to fuck off," Gloom said, "Not offering it at all means that you think little of the faction, whereas offering it to them at least gives no downsides?" Gloom continued, "Might not be rewarded for it like other factions might."
"Well, if I offered this to my Mistress, she would not give a single shit," I said, thinking about the powerful Succubus, "There are some factions that are above such petty gains, but your right; I would rather lose the reward than to snub Lady Yancy at this moment. She brings in too much income for us to snub her. Although if she lets me keep the cure, think of a third faction that we might be offering it to," I said in the end.
"Then I think we should split up and gather rewards at the same time, Viccy," Naughty Bunny said, "You, Fidel, and Gloom? Go to the Businesswoman that you got the quest from; it's still weird we don't have her name. Iona and I will go and give a cure to the Hellfire Citadel, while Elli goes and offers the last cure to Lady Yancy's faction. Is that all agreed?" She asked, summing up the quick conversation.
"I see no reason not to follow this course of action," Iona said. Then she held up her hand, "No, one of us should escort Elli at least out of the slums before we move forward with this course of action," Iona suddenly interjected. We all looked shocked, and I chuckled.
"I forgot where we were; in fact, I think Iona should go with Viccy as a tank and Fidel with Naughty while Gloom can help me out as a healer and damage dealer," I said, changing the teams a little, and no one complained.
Finally, I pursed my lips and nodded, "Let's get this done before nightfall." I said, taking a vial, as did Viccy and Naughty, and suddenly, we all separated.
I couldn't help but feel weirdly warm as we all started to move to various areas of the City. My 'knight' Gloom was protecting me, and I remembered the early days when it was just Iona and myself. Honestly, I did need to spend more time with her, and with Gloom over her heat, I think I should log in a little early to talk to her a bit.
I didn't want to ruin my relationship with Iona. It couldn't be all about sex, although thinking this way was still odd to me. I was never the one to care about these things in relationships before unless they were business relationships.
Feeling warm with an escort, we slowly walked out of the Slums with Gloom and I watching our corners. Now that I think about it, I noticed a lack of human players so far in the game. I should talk to Victoria soon about some aspects of what is happening with the game. The Righteous factions seemed a little too creepy toward the younger NPCs. It reminded me of the catholic church, but this wasn't real life, and we didn't need the comparison.
Also, the media might pick up on it. That would be annoying for the company.
I noted to ask that as I wondered how Lady Yancy would react to me giving her a cure.
