The Fight through the crowd was awesome to behold. The people were like a mosh pit moving around, and people shouting out wares were numerous. I was stuck between Viccy and Iona as we moved through. I couldn't complain as our bodies mashed together. Okay, I will complain a little Iona's armor was pressed up against me.
After a bit of jostling, we made it out and passed the wood walls that surrounded the elevator landing. We made our way around with the towering peaks of Tree surrounding us. They stood like living skyscrapers to the forest's glory. The roots didn't shoot out but these trees were eight or nine meters thick. We moved through this ancient forest much easier than I thought we would.
We were heading in the right direction when the first goblin showed its head. An arrow swiftly greeted the ugly thing swiftly. Brain matter splatters the underbrush he hid behind. I looked at Viccy, and she smiled at me.
"Think I haven't been practicing at every chance for the last bit?" They were the first words exchanged on the forest floor, and I smiled back.
"Knowing you, of course, you practiced this whenever you could. It was an impressive show, but I was actually going to say we are in goblin territory now; let us be careful." I told her matter of factly. She nodded and realized she wanted to show me off a bit. She blushed, but our attention turned to watching for creatures who blended into the environment. The loot was not great, and the experience was just as so.

We moved on into the forest greenery as the underbrush became thicker. Iona led the way swiping her sword and cutting through the underbrush simply while I was in the middle, looking around, ready for large groups where I worked best. Viccy followed us up, watching our backs.
We were not disappointed as minutes later, we were ambushed by eight normal goblins and two elites. They popped out of the underbrush with absolutely no sign of them before. Viccy killed a normal goblin just as they popped out, and I targeted the elites. I conjured an illusion of changing our locations and leading them away. My mana drained, much less making an illusion to a dumb monster than I thought it would. The Elites were chasing us as we ran away.
The Other goblins began to attack us as I channeled the spell muttering the spell quietly. Iona stood near me while three of the goblins lunged at Viccy. The dagger that she had on her vest had appeared in her hand. It penetrated the brain of one, and she jumped backstabbing another with an arrow from her quiver. She outmaneuvered the amateur maneuvers of the small goblin as she kicked the child-sized monster.
Iona, on the other hand, looked at the small goblins with contempt. She saw their small wooden clubs and cut them with a fatal strike each time. The goblins were cleaned up quickly and efficiently between them while I made the elites start to come back. They were lost in the illusion I had created for them.
The Elite Goblins were just a bit shorter than me, with ugly green faces. They carried swords though salvaged from dead adventurers, probably. Viccy shot her arrows at them, and one hit their arm, followed by one in the chest. They woke from my illusion with the pain. I tried to conjure a new one, but the stupidity that made them easy to manipulate before made them hard to manipulate now.
They blindly charged at us, and Iona met their charge sweeping one of their legs. Red blood flowed out of the new stump as the Goblin roared on the ground. The other got close to me, and a fist was coming for my face. I moved away, knowing I was the worst to take damage. I retreated back, and the fist missed along with the sword that followed it up. Viccy shot at the Elite goblin, hitting it twice as it chased her now. I was about to conjure an image of Iona when I saw Iona charge the other Elite Goblin herself.
With the head flying through the air, the ambush was settled. Iona was a little bit overpowered for these enemies, which made me wonder what happened with the first wolves we encountered.
"Iona, you dealt with this way better than the wolves. Why?" I asked, needing to know for the future, and she sighed.
"There a difference with thirty compared to ten, Elli. There were too many wolves, plus I had to protect you, meaning I couldn't run and fight." I blushed as I realized that I was the issue.
"Understood, and Sorry." I acknowledged it, and the topic died. The experience from the Elites was better, but not by much. It was double the normal goblins, but it still made for slow progress.

The Total experience I earned over the encounter was Nine hundred. It was starting to add up, and with the amount we were supposed to kill, it was going to be a level-up.
The Day went on quickly as we continued to fight and fight. The goblins were excellent ambushers, and we thought we were getting close to where they were as the frequency of the attacks increased. We were also getting more tired as the fighting continued. We stayed vigilant as Viccy took off some more heads as we moved deeper into their territory.
She was quickly becoming a crack shot with that bow taking out goblins before they reached us. My illusion magic would redirect the Elites while the normal goblins were slayed. This stopped us from being tied down when the slightly better attacked. This created gaps in attacks making our lives easier.
Finally, we cleared the killing of normal goblins and Elite goblin tasks. I looked into my stats to see how things were.

The night was getting dark, and I knew my alarm would go off soon when we found the Goblin settlement. We were all happy we found it, but it was a cave that went into a tree and down into the ground. This made it difficult to deal with, to say the least. We discussed this briefly before deciding to move.
