Chang saw the old man walking beside Jian and instantly jumped up from her seat, pointing her finger at him.
"It's you!!"
"Don't point at people, that's rude." Li Hua calmly but firmly pulled Chang's finger away from it target, as soon as it extended.
"You don't understand this guy was really weird with me just a minute ago." Holding her other hand out wide, Chang stared at her mother.
Hearing her words, Jian instantly looked at the old man beside him giving him a sharp look, before looking back at Chang.
"What do you mean by he was weird with you?" The man next to Jian began to laugh loudly after hearing Jian question her, the clear sound echoed throughout the small room.
"My you have quite the temper young lady, you might even have given my daughter a good run for her money."
Chang felt like a deflated balloon hearing him laughing at her actions.
"I merely meant to tease you a little, I did not think that you would rush off in a huff so quickly. You will forever be at my grandson's mercy if you are always so easily swayed with your emotions."
Chang blushed in shame, hearing his words before it processed the key word, 'grandson.'
"Wait, grandson?" Incredulous Chang looked at the two seeing the resemblance as it sank in, before looking at her feet, wishing a hole would immediately open up in the ground.
"Mm." Jian nodded and answered her. "Chang this is my grandfather, Hakim al-Hassan. Jid1 this is my lovely wife Chang Dumont."
Calm faced the older man walked forward and took Chang's hand that had been falling and placed a light ticklish peck on the back of it.
"Charmed." Smiling Hakim spoke in his gravelly accented voice, his eyes twinkling as he looked up at her. His whole demeanor was completely from when she had just met him a few minutes before, looking as if he was intentionally charming her. When he looked at her like that, Chang realized just how much Jian had taken after his grandfather.
Blushing Chang looked away, completely embarrassed with herself. 'Me and big mouth, I can't believe I fingered at Jian's grandpa to "shove it. How could I not tell who he was at all."
Liang Jian Amal scowled seeing his Jid actively trying to seduce his woman in front of his eyes and took her hand from him. Liang Jian Amal wrapped Chang in his arms protectively and stared hawkishly down at his Jid. He shook his head very slightly at the old man warning him not to do that again.
Hakim Al-hassan scowled up at his hafid2, there was no reason for him to act so possessivly, they were family! After all his taste would lie more in the graceful beauty seated at the table wearing the light lilac qipao.
Li Hua commented innocently from the side to Hao Jin Ying watching Jian's actions.
"Oh my, is it just me, or is it starting to stink like vinegar in here?"
Hao Jin Ying was unable to respond to this, but Chang understood exactly what her mother meant and giggled nestling in Jian's arms, her face pressed against his chest.
The big man sighed and looked down, his pertubance gone instantly. Releasing her slightly so that he could see her face clearly, Jian smiled at her
"Did you sleep well?"
Chang nodded her head enthusiastically, practically bursting with energy after all the sleeping she had done as of late. Placing her hands on his forearms, she answered enthusiastically nodding her head.
"Yeah, I did, it's so beautiful here, it's almost unreal, the room I'm in is absolutely magnificent. Oh and the gardens! How can this place exist!"
Liang Jian Amal found himself grinning at her shining face.
"I am glad that you love it so far, this is only the tip though. There is much more for me to show you. Today I planned to take you around the palace grounds and into the capital city Muzdahir."
"Sweet, I'm ready, let's go! Mom, are you coming with us?"
"Hold on a moment, would you like to clean yourself and change out of what you were wearing yesterday first?" Chang had already turned away ready to go, even though she did not know where they would be going. Bemused Liang Jian Amal caught her arm, stopping her.
Chang was so excited that she had not think about initially, but the idea appealed to her greatly as soon as he said it.
"Actually yes, but I dont have anything to change into, besides the bag of pajamas."
"Already taken care of, I will show you where. It will be just me and you today, your mother expressed a wish to explore the gardens with my Jid."
"Oh, OK. Next time then!" Chang kissed her mom on the cheek and gave a hug goodbye to Hao Jin Ying. As she passed by Hakim she wondered how she should say goodbye, he was technically her grandfather now and a handshake seemed a bit too formal, but a wave or a hug didn't seem quite appropriate either.
Chang eventually came to a decision. Giving him a kiss on the cheek, she addressed him as Jian did.
"Bye bye Jid!"
Chang rushed off to the direction of the bedroom where she came from, figuring that would be where stuff would be.
Liang Jian Amal's face darkened seeing her kissing his Jid on the cheek but remained silent seeing the blissful expression on the older man's face.
He snorted through his nose, he would just let today slip. He moved past him and hurriedly caught up to his wife. Taking her hand he lead her out of the open air central area, and through the large antechamber, to the private resting area of what had been Amira's wing of the palace.
