Inside the study, the Lord was reading some reports when someone abruptly opened the door and rushed inside.
"My Lord." Shu Ren stopped in front of the table and bowed to their Lord.
"Do you not know how to knock?" The Lord angrily rebuked him for his lack of etiquette.
"I'm sorry my Lord but it was urgent." As a left-winged captain and a confidante, Shu Ren knows that the Lord disliked being disturb when he was working.
"What's so urgent that you dared to disturb this king?" The Lord released his momentum and directed his aura to Shu Ren.
As such, when the oppressive aura pressed on Shu Ren, it cause him to have a hard time breathing and even his leg lose its strength and he was force to kneel. He knows that the Lord was really pissed this time but he gritted his teeth and try to fight the oppressive aura with his force and talked. "My Lord, it was about the mistress."
Hearing this, the Lord withdrawn his aura and coldly stared at the kneeling man in front of him. "What about the mistress? This King ordered you to guard her, what are you doing here?"
"My Lord,actually....the mistress escaped." Shu Ren cautiously answered the Lord. When he saw that the Lord glared at him. He instinctively covered his head with his arms and waited for a flying object to hit him but surprisingly none came.
Shu Ren peak in between his arms and he was astonished to see the Lord's calm face. He never would have thought that the Lord would be this calm after knowing that the mistress escape.
"My Lord?"Shu Ren carefully called out to the Lord while slowly putting down his arms.
"This king will try to locate her." The Lord closed his eyes and summon his elemental force to trace his pearl which was inside Rae Gu's body.
Shu Ren's face turned red when he noticed what the Lord was doing. He was so embarrased and could only mocked himself with his own stupidity. He got so anxious earlier and had totally forgotten about the pearl.
Shu Ren stayed silently at the side and wait for the Lord to locate the mistress.
One minute has passed... two minutes... three minutes...
Shu Ren saw the Lord's face gets uglier as time passed by. He felt uneasy on what was happening. Until he saw the Lord stopped meditating and opened his eyes.
"Where is the mistress my Lord?"Shu Ren looked at the Lord with anticipation but instead he was greeted by the Lord's bloodthirsty eyes. He was scared witless and fell on his butt.
After seeing this, the Lord's mouth twitched and he didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He was now doubtful if sending this gutless man to his wife's side was a correct decision or not.
"This king can't locate her. You dispatched the Specter Corps and search for her in the Dark forest and all the nearby towns." The Lord ordered coldly as his patience was at its limits.
Shu Ren, who fell on his butt was still in a dazed and didn't react to the Lord's command.
Seeing this, the Lord couldn't help but reached out to his ink brush and throw it on Shu Ren's face.
Shu Ren woke up from his dazed after being hit on his face. He quickly stood up to bow and capped his fist. "As you commanded my Lord." And he quickly run out of the room.
The Lord was taken aback after seeing Shu Ren run like he was escaping for his life. He sighed and stood up to go towards his room to change since he was only wearing his inner clothes. "Bai Rou."
"My Lord, you called." A black haired man landed beside the Lord.
"Am I that terrifying?" Bai Rou was stunned after hearing the Lord's question. He opened his mouth but no words will come out.
"No need to hide, I know that I have been ruthless when handling you guys. " He stopped calling himself this king and sighed helplessly.
"My Lo.."
"Stop calling me Lord and stop being formal." The Lord interjected him.
Bai Rou sighed and started to talk what's really on their mind."Huang, I know that you have it hard. Yes, you were ruthless when handling us, especially when it comes to our training, but the three of us know that you only did it for us. We know that you wanted us to get stronger so we could protect ourselves." Bai Rou patted the Lord's shoulder. He knows that the Lord have a big responsibility after his family took over the rights of governing the Beast Kingdom when that big war against humans ended twenty-two years ago.
"Huang, don't forget that whatever happens in the future, We will never leave your side and as your sworn brothers we will fight beside you." Bai Rou smiled after seeing the Lord's tight face loosened. The three of them, Bai Rou, Shu Ren, and Yan Zhao have sworn to support him off his burdens.
"But that kid.." The Lord's face was sad when he was thinking about Shu Ren.
"Don't worry Huang. He will be find. Though that man might be playful sometimes, but he was strong and his capabilities were top notch." Bai Rou reassured the Lord. He knows that he was worried about Shu Ren.
"By the way, won't you hurry up? We still need to find that other troublesome lass." Bai Rou chuckled when he thinks about this Lord's drayeen. Now, the Lord has another brat to take care off.
The Lord just smiled and shook his head thinking that he will had another headache. Then, he strode towards his room hurriedly.

In the mean time..
When Shu Ren got out from the room earlier, he hurriedly run towards another corridor and patted his chest. He was really scared to see that side of his Lord. He was afraid that the Lord would thrashed him again. Thinking about what happen in the past made his body convulsed involuntarily.
Shu Ren composed himself and called out. "Ling."
"Yes captain" A white-haired woman landed in front of him.
Ling Zhou froze when she looked up to his captain's face. She bowed her head and bit her lips to stop herself from laughing.
Shu Ren didn't noticed that his subordinate's face turned red from trying to stop herself from laughing and just issued his command with a stern voice."Ling, command your unit to spread among all the nearby towns and dark forest to search for the mistress."
"Yes captain." Ling snickered while she received the command.
"What are you snickering for?" Shu Ren raised one of his brows and asked Ling Zhou with curiosity. He knows that this woman in front of him was a stone face and now she was actually smiling.
"Nothing captain. I'll go now." Ling Zhou turned and started to walk forward but stop after a few steps. She looked back at his captain face and teased him. "Captain, you should wash your face before you go out or you might scared away all your prospect wives." After Ling Zhou said it to her captain, she then jumped up to the roof and hurriedly left the vicinity.
"huh?" Shu Ren was confused on what she meant when he heard a laugh at his side. He turned his head and saw a blue haired man.
"Shu Ren ah! I didn't know that you would go as far as doing this to your handsome face just to make that lass smile." The blue haired man guffawed at this friend while putting his arms over his shoulder. Everyone knows that Shu Ren had a thing for Ling Zhou so the blue haired man teased him.
Shu Ren touched his face instinctively. He looked at his hand and saw a smudge of black ink. He now remembered that the Lord throw an ink brush on him earlier. He then glared at this man beside him and brushed his arms off his shoulders angrily. "Yan Zhao, Get your arms off me."
Yan Zhao continued laughing, "Man, that look on your face was priceless. Do it again next time." He then turned around and lazily whistled a tune while he walked towards the Lord's room.
Shu Ren's face turned black after hearing Yan Zhao teased him. Then, He also hurriedly returned to his room while he covered his face. He wanted to wash the ink off his face before someone else sees him like this.

Somewhere in the Manor...
Rae Gu was enjoying a feast. She was holding a chicken thigh on her left hand and her right hand was busy picking on the other dishes while she stuffed all those foods on her mouth.
"Creaaaak..." The door opened. She stopped eating and looked up, then she heard a familiar voice sounded at the door.
"Bai, you help Shu Ren search for that brat while I'll try to locate her using the pearl again." the Lord commanded before he went inside the room.
Rae Gu panicked after hearing this. She put back the thigh and looked around to find a place to hide. The footsteps got nearer, so she could only run to the bed inside the bedroom and put down the bed curtain before she hide herself under the quilt.
