Chapter 3 - I can make things fly! (Part 2)

"Sir, a new talent has awoken in city X."

"Why are you telling me this? Isn't the protocol to catch her as soon as possible?" The man growled as he continued to fill out paperwork. In the darkness, neither of their features could be made out other than the lamp shining on the man's gloved hands writing on the papers.

"Ah, well... you see, sir, um..."

"What. Is. It." He looked up from the papers.

"This... isn't one of those usual cases..."

The man's orange locks reflected off what little light the room had as he leaned forward, his piercing green eyes flashing with a killing intent.

"She awakened in a school. A public place. It's going to be difficult to capture her."

The man practically slammed the table.

"THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE. SHE SHOULD HAVE AWAKENED AT HOME, IN PRIVATE. HOW WOULD YOU NOT HAVE KNOWN?"

"Sir please-"

"I want none of your excuses. Eliminate all witnesses and follow our protocol. While you're at it, find someone who's better at your job." The man sighed as he sat back down.

The speaker acknowledged the request, albeit reluctantly, and left.

---

"Red! How did you-?"

"I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING!" Red squealed, "THE CALCULATOR IS FLYING ON IT'S OWN!"

Ying Ze had the urge to bang his head against the wall. This girl was so dumb sometimes.

"Okay, how about you just grab it and let's go. We're going to be late if you stay here any longer."

"O-Okay..." Red mumbled.

---

Despite how important this examination was to her, Red didn't have the heart to do it. Neither did Ying Ze, as they both ended up spending most of their time thinking about the incident. After all, they were doing a physics paper, and this felt unrelated to the laws of physics in any regard.

Red desperately fumbled to keep her thoughts together, but the more she tried to not think about it, the less she could focus.

Ying Ze on the other hand, being the genius he was, breezed through the paper, although somewhat half-heartedly and making more errors than he should've made.

Suddenly, the building shook.
