Chapter 121 - Invasion

The training took one week. All the warriors were now fully prepared for a serious battle.

"We left our beloved families, our precious homes and our places of comfort to come here and get ready for war. Because of this, we had to become allies with the communities we considered foes. It was the best decision we ever made. Our opponents are not people who can die just by a jab of your sword or spears and you are going for a battle where we are all likely to be wiped off the surface of our land. In that case, if you are fearful, I will ask you to withdraw, if the battle is unbearable, please flee. Are we together?"

Ochieng's voice echoed in the training ground. When he finished, looks of determination were directed at him. All the warriors were trained to be always intrepid no matter who their opponents were. They could not be convinced to back out. Seeing their looks, Ochieng' had Okeyo prepare magical airships which were used to transport all the warriors to the shore of Ndia.

At the shore, all the warriors, seers and tribe heads stood in a line around the waters. Ochieng', Apeleka, Kuru, Mboya, Okeyo, Mwiga, Oyamo, Labosa and the six animals flew towards the barrier on Ratong's back.

...

Black Fiends knew it was not going to be as peaceful as it seemed on the surface. Their leaders had been mobilizing them to prepare them for war. They were even more serious when they learned that their Keeper had betrayed them and was busy killing them. He had been killed after taking the lives of his people for three days straight.

They had made serious preparations and many of them had been stationed just near the barrier to guard the entrance to their land.

"Those humans take us for fools, do they think that they can win just because we have been calm recently. I need to suck their blood." One Black Fiend near the barrier was saying angrily. They had build a small island where they would stand guards.

"That idiot even fooled us into believing that he was on our side, he almost destroyed us... What is the matter?" Another one said but when he saw another colleague pointing towards a certain direction with horrific look, he could not help but ask. He did not receive an answer. He just had to turn his head towards the barrier where was being pointed.

"What the f..."

That Black Fiend almost collapsed in frenzy. What it was seeing was the most terrifying thing since it set foot on the crimson world. It had seen its tribesmen eat each other up and as a righteous Black Fiend, that was frightening but was no way close to what was approaching them.

Eight humans were approaching arranged in a V-shaped line. At the peak of the V, a young man in his twenties led the group. Six animals were above them and thy widened their mouths in excitement. That could not make these Black Fiends almost lose their eyes due to bulging too much. The problem lay in how they were approaching: All the fourteen were floating in the air. Apart from the young man, all the other seven humans had weird things that no one could ever imagine of following closely behind them.

One young woman had beautiful flower petals of different colours and sizes dancing beautifully with butterflies on them behind her. An older woman had gourds, calabashes, cooking sticks, pots, plates and even wooden spoons following her. A middle aged man had books, an old man had delicacies of different kinds, another old man had peculiar birds chirping noisily and one young man had every kind of weapon: clubs, spears, swords, stones, hummers and even daggers floating behind him.

There was a man in his thirties floating on the far right. He was being followed by the oddest of things. There were skeletons floating nicely behind her. Some had their heads tilted, others were missing their limbs while there some with no heads. Skulls, limbs and other bones were even more agitated than complete skeletons.

Pah!

Still confused by what they were seeing, the five Black Fiends were petrified with mouths agape. They saw the seven humans disagree before a flower petal hit one of them. The one hit fell to the ground: dead.

Scared out of their wits, the remaining four tried to flee but a cooking stick fell on one. As it fell, a light paper made another tremble before dying as well. The remaining two were killed by phalange while the other a piece of meat. As they all died, great fear never left their faces.

The six beasts were Mudho, Jade Eagle, Jakony, Ratong', Lion's tribe head and Mang'weya. Leading the group was Ochieng' and following him closely was Apeleka, the lover. She was the one with petals with butterflies on them. Okeyo had birds; Mboya, books; Labosa, gourds, calabashes, cooking sticks, pots and spoons; Oyamo, weapons; Kuru, delicacies; Mwiga, skeletons. They were the Lover, the Great Wizard, the One With the Book, the Solitary Witch, the Ordained Warrior, the Food Loving Wizard and the Necromancer respectively.

On their own, even the weakest of Black Fiends would render them helpless even though they were all powerful but with the Ordainer, a powerful Black Fiend was nothing before them. Immediately they got into the Crimson land, they had been fighting over who was to kill a Black Fiend first. Seeing them fail to agree, Apeleka decisively threw a petal at one of the creatures. Following which, the others wasted no more time. After just a few seconds, all the five Black Fiends were lying on the ground, dead .

After that was done, they all flew towards the central parts of the Crimson land. As soon as they got on the autumn looking land, they met thousands of Black Fiends waiting at the shore of the ocean. A fight broke out. Ochieng's group won easily for their opponents were extremely weak. After they killed those monsters, they went deeper into the dark world.
