Chapter 119 - Ochieng' Appears

After training for a while with the warriors who insisted on being trained before Ochieng' left, Ochieng', Kuru and Oyamo left on Ratong's back. They were heading North. They could not just teleport because Ochieng' had not fully recovered. Furthermore, he injured himself more when he appeared at the training camp.

"Oyamo, how have you been, are you ready for war?" Ochieng' asked with a smile.

"I am brother, fighting beside you will be my greatest honour." Oyamo answered with a serious face.

The lion was moving at its highest speed. To protect themselves from the ranging winds, Kuru made a magical barrier which only allowed gentle winds to enter. They said a lot of things inside. Ochieng' also told them about the battle a week ago and how he had fled to a certain island within the Ndia Ocean to recover from his injuries. He was was almost fully recovered at the moment.

...

The orange sun was halfway sunk in the western horizon. The desert of Northern areas was normally desolate, devoid of human life. At the moment, it was filled with tents and was bustling with people. White strands of smoke were seen from every part of the campsite; people were busy cooking for their families. At the center of the campsite, a few dozens of large tents stood in circles. At the very centre stood the largest. Inside, Okeyo, Mboya, Mwiga, Apeleka with Jakony on her shoulder, Labosa and a few leaders of the chosen ones were seated on three legged stools around a large magical fire. They were discussing things that would help them manage the camp more efficiently and how they would join the warriors to prepare for war.

"Apeleka, he's here." Jakony's voice filled the entire tent.

Apeleka stood immediately. Without warning, she left the tent and hurried outside. From the southern part of the camp, she saw Ratong' landing as clouds of dust rose to the air as if giving way for the behemoth. Her eyes were focused on a certain man on top of the animal.

The man was about one meter and sixty centimetres tall. He had a light skin and a thewy physique. His face was good looking making him look younger than he was actually was.

"Ochieng'," the young man's name involuntarily escaped her mouth.

Her heart started beating faster than usual, her face crimsoned and she trembled without reason. All these she felt but she never realized. She did not even realize that behind her were the people she was in the tent with.

Without knowing why, she found herself running towards the landing animal. Her speed was so high that everyone along her path found themselves giving her way. The beautiful white dress she was currently wearing swayed nicely as she was hit by the winds. With her beauty, it looked like a flower petal flying.

The young man also noticed the silhouette of a lady rushing towards them. As she drew closer, his heart almost left his chest for he realized that it was the woman that had been part of his dreams for almost three months now. He did not understand how he jumped off the lion's back but as far as he knew, he fled towards the gorgeous girl coming towards him.

When they came closer to one another, they hugged so tightly that their bones almost snapped. Tears welled up in their eyes before flowing like water off a fountain. Their heartbeats were vigorous seemingly in need of hugging as well. Not too long later, they were kissing passionately completely oblivious to the happenings of their surroundings which was already packed with people looking with incredulous expressions.

Cough! Cough!

Unable to take it any longer, a few coughs filled the air. This made the two stop whatever they were doing albeit reluctantly. Surely, if they were let to be, who knew how far they could go? That was unacceptable.

Ochieng' turned to look at the people his left hand not letting go of his girl's. Even though they had just done what was considered a taboo by many, the looks that were thrown at him were those shining with excitement and anticipation. It was no different from a look one would give a saviour. They now knew that this was the Ordainer they had been told about. Of course those who did not know him learned when he arrived on Ratong's back, others just heard from hushed discussions when he was making out with his woman.

"Son, you're back."

As Ochieng' looked at the people before him, he heard a familiar voice at a certain point, turning his head towards the source of the voice, he was excited to see Ong'am, his father grinning with all his thirty two teeth exposed. Since Ochieng' was quite far from him, he only nodded his head with a smile and continued looking at the people before him.

"Great people, I know you must be aware of the invasion that is now ahead of us..."

Ochieng's voice reverberated in the camp. Everyone listened carefully. Even though he was using the Lu language, as an Ordainer who had awaked all his powers, everyone was able to understand him despite being people with different ethnic backgrounds. His speech was accompanied by loud applauses from the listeners who were getting more agitated with time.

After about thirty minutes, the chosen ones, Okeyo and the others took Ochieng' to the central tent where they had their own plans. It was nice having the Ordainer with them for he had plans that would make them be victors within the shortest time possible.

As they discussed, an old man they were completely unfamiliar with appeared in the tent. Not even caring about pleasantries, he said, "I am Saint Nyogamo Okwodo. I have been sent here to take Ochieng' to the Saint land for he is to be helped heal."

Everyone looked at each doubtfully but Ochieng' stood up quickly to stand by the man's side, "I will go with him." He said with determination.

Even though they were still skeptical, they dared not open their mouths, they trusted Ochieng'. What they did not know was the fact that Ochieng' was capable of prying into people's minds and was capable of knowing who intended to harm him and otherwise.

"I want to go with him."

Apeleka also walked to the man's side. He wanted to object but upon seeing Ochieng's look, he decided to disappear with the two leaving the crowd rolling their eyes in confusion.
