Erza did not care for their opinions or reactions as she waved her hand, "Go ahead and split for now. Carefully improve your own strength so that your chances of surviving the beast wave invasion will be increased."
Afterwards, Erza walked to a different courtyard that the Mole Clan had specifically made for her. Next, she set up a barrier around her which prevented others to spy on her before starting her own meditation.
...
Time quickly went by as two days came and went. In those two days, Erza and the Blaze of the Heroes were all sitting within the Mole Clan courtyards practicing in peace. The news of a Peak Level Beast King had brought about a large amount of pressure on them all, so everyone was trying their best to improve their strength in order to have a better chance of surviving the incoming battle.
Also in those two days, there were a series of strange looking men caught around the courtyards. With the appearance of the Blaze of the Heroes, it had peaked the attention of both big and small factions of Mirage City. Fortunately, no conflict had occurred yet so far. Those factions were simply curious.
During that night in the guise of darkness, a gigantic flying beast suddenly landed on top of the city lord's mansion.
Thanks to the bright illuminations around the building, the shape of the flying beast could be roughly determined. It looked like an eagle with pitch black feathers and its wings spanning out to around twenty meters. From its back, two figures suddenly emerged and descended onto the ground below with their clothes billowing in the wind.
In the courtyard, Caesar stood by with a group of soldiers standing behind him nervously. Yet there was also an expectant look on each one of their faces.
"This one is honoured to greet the envoys!"
...
*Dong dong dong dong…*
In the early morning of the Mole Clan's courtyards, the large knocking sounds of the door suddenly broke the silence.
Feeling a movement from the outside of the barrier, Erza slowly opened her eyes and stood up. She then retracted the barrier and found Kay was standing not very far from her.
"Young Lady, commander Arnold is here. He wants to see you and is currently waiting in the main hall. Judging from his expression, it must be something important." Kay reported.
"Well then, let us greet him."
Following Kay, Erza arrived at the main hall of Mole Clan only to see the armoured Arnold standing with a middle aged man next to him. Then, right by the middle aged man, a young woman with an appearance revealing her to be around twenty years old stood by his side.
In the last two days, Erza had made sure to pay attention to each important member of the Mole Clan. This middle aged man was Kay's son, Lark. He was forty years old this year and the twenty year old woman by his side was Kay's granddaughter, Agnes.
"Young Lady!"
"Young Lady!"
Seeing Erza, both Lark and Agnes greeted respectfully.
Erza nodded her head at the two as a way of greeting before turning to commander Arnold, "Commander Arnold, what matter might you have for me so early in the morning?"
Arnold turned to Erza with a small smile, "Young Lady, senior envoys wish to see you. If you could, would you please come with me to the lord's mansion?"
"Senior envoys?" Erza's eyes narrowed as she tried to figure out who exactly these senior envoys were.
Seeing Erza's confusion, Arnold explained to her, "These senior envoys are experts from Black Snow Imperial City assigned to help defend Mirage City during the wave." From the word 'experts', commander Arnold bit his lips as he stared at Erza with a look of reverence.
Hearing that, Erza's eyes flashed with hesitation as she spoke, "Commander Arnold, do you know for what reason these senior envoys wish to see me?"
"This I am not sure. Senior envoys didn't explain and I didn't dare to ask." Arnold shook his head.
Erza's eyes narrowed once more as she tried to think of many different reasons, but in the end, she could only follow commander Arnold back to the mansion. She hoped that they were not people she knew, and hopefully her changing appearance magic still worked in front of them.
At the lord's mansion, commander Arnold stopped right in front of the garden before turning around to talk to Erza. "Young Lady, senior envoys are waiting for you in the pavilion further ahead. I still have some matters to attend to, so I cannot accompany you."
Nodding her head in understanding, Erza looked ahead to where the garden was. Surrounding the entire place was a multitude of different types of flowers with a sweet fragrance wafting through the air. With one breath of this fragrance, one would feel that their energy stabilized since the amount of spiritual essence here was saturated.
Erza's gaze finally stopped at the pavilion in the centre of the garden where two expensively robed figures sat underneath drinking wine. Caesar stood by their sides and respectfully poured some wine for them every so often with no guards in sight.
Erza stared at the two rich clothed men for a moment. She realized that these two were the ones that Arnold had referred to as 'senior envoys', so without hesitation, she began to walk toward the pavilion. On the way, her eyes continued to move around from spot to spot as she enjoyed the beauty of the garden.
The moment Erza reached the pavilion, lord Caesar hurriedly spoke out to the two envoys, "Senior envoys, this sister here is called Erna."
The two envoys looked at Erza at the same time as Erza looked at them. She could see that these two were around forty years old and one had a gentle disposition that would make anyone have a good feeling about him at first glance.
The other's expression was the complete opposite of the man earlier as he had a cold expression on his face. Despite that, the two had the same type of clothing and accessories. Even more astonishing was that the two's faces were identical. Quickly going through her memory, Erza believed that this should be the first time she met them, which brought a bit sense of relieve. She was worried that she might meet someone she knew and would be recognized.
"So you're Erna!" The gentle looking man smiled as he greeted Erza.
Erza cupped her hands together in greeting, "Correct, I am Erna. Might this one ask what two seniors here want?" Erza's voice was neither disrespectful or respectful, and her posture was not improper in etiquette.
After Erza finished speaking, a large amount of essences filled the air and began to press down onto Erza with a terrifying amount of pressure. Underneath, Erza immediately felt that it was as if she was being weighed down by a heavy stone and found it suddenly hard to breathe.
At this sudden development, Erza's face was startled and her originally calm face gained a serious expression. There was a level of coldness as she stared at the gentle looking man who was still beaming at her. Not to be outdone, Erza began to fill the air with her true essences which immediately made contact with the one pressing against her.
*Bang!*
Following a loud bang, the previously quiet garden was suddenly engulfed in a fierce wind as the flower petals began to dance and fly into the air.
"Senior envoys!" Caesar's face had changed as he cried out to them in a panic.
The kind looking envoy waved his hand at Caesar as he continued to smile at Erza without speaking another word.
Erza's black coloured essences had interweaved with the envoy's blue coloured essences in midair in a way reminiscent of two dangerous beasts tearing away at each other without relenting.
In contrast to where Erza and the envoy were, the garden around them was assaulted by a strong gale which only grew in size with each passing moment.
The kind looking envoy nodded his head with yet another smile before increasing his output even more. In a moment's notice, the perilous situation Erza was in had suddenly intensified.
Erza's face immediately hardened as she felt the increase in pressure. It was only just recently that Erza was fighting at an even level with the man, but straight away, Erza felt as if the entire area around her had frozen and she was trapped within. Unable to break free of the restrictions, even her clothes had been tightly pressed against her due to the heavy pressure.
Erza released a small growl as she quickly increased her own essences. Soon, it began to reach a peak, but the amount of pressure that the other man released was still higher and so she was unable to break free. Despite all of her best efforts, the amount of strength being imposed onto Erza was similar to being tasked with climbing an unclimbable mountain.
These two envoys were true Peak King Realm experts, while Erza was only at the Late Knight level. Therefore, it was impossible for her to try and compete with either of the two despite having the strength of a Mid King.
