Chapter 80 - Arriving at Mirage City

Seeing the downed warbeast, every single of the Big Boys' faces instantly grew lifeless. At this moment, every single movement had stopped as if everyone had frozen. Their eyes were stuck on the warbeast whose head was bleeding profusely with looks of extreme disbelief.

The Peak King Warbeast in front of them had a defence stronger than what any one of them could imagine. Even an Early King expert would be hard pressed to damage the warbeast and a Mid King expert would still need to use an astounding amount of energy to kill it.

To see this unbelievably tenacious warbeast killed by a girl who was not even over the age of 18, everyone was incredibly shocked. No one had expected this type of power from a person they picked up on the way to Mirage City.

At that moment, every Big Boys realized that this low profile girl traveling with them was actually a high levelled expert!

Considering her current appearance, most of them guessed that it was not real. She should be above 20 years old already. There was even a chance that Erza was an old woman who was faking her appearance. After all, it was not uncommon for some old experts to be eccentric.

Erza did not take notice of the shock of the Big Boys. At this moment, her mind was reeling from shock. She was surprised to learn that the power of Hope would be so strong!

By Erza's approximations, the defences of the warbeast would be incredibly difficult for her to make even a substantial amount of damage. If she really wanted to injure the warbeast, she would need at least the strength of an Early King and yet with the power of Hope, the warbeast's defences were like tofu. It allowed Melforce to pierce through the skull without the slightest bit of resistance.

Now was also the first time that Erza understood how terrifying the power of Hope was. No wonder Chasiel was known as the third strongest Archangel after Michael and Rafael.

With this, Erza also realized that she actually had the fighting strength of a Mid King Realm expert!

Considering her actual age, Erza would surely be targeted by Black Snow Empire's enemies if her talent was known to the world. A 14 years old girl with a Mid King Realm strength, what sort of concept was that?!

It was known that Reynold, the acting head of the First Household of Valentine Clan, was still at the peak of King Realm despite all of the resources he had, and he was someone in his fifties already!

"The warbeast is dead…"

"Oh heavens! A warbeast was killed, and this warbeast was even at the peak of King Realm in strength…."

Everyone had already returned to where the caravans were. One by one they expressed their feelings as everyone looked at Erza with expressions of shock while a few others had expressions of worship.

The Big Boys leader, Moses let out a breath of air as he examined the ground where the dead warbeast laid. With a slight shake of his head, he looked at Erza who was standing not faraway. After a moment of hesitation, he walked over to her.

"Miss Erna, I didn't think you'd be an expert of such profound strength! Ai, it is truly inconceivable that with your current age you are able to kill a warbeast of this level. I, as the representative of every member of the Big Boys must give you my thanks. You have solved a major problem for us." Moses spoke honestly and respectfully.

"You need not to be so polite. Besides, we are sharing the road; if one of us comes across a problem, then it is natural that I provide assistance." Erza calmly replied with a smile.

Erza and Moses began to talk among themselves politely for a while before the other mercenaries busied themselves with other matters. The Big Boys were split into two groups, one was responsible for repairing the caravans and loading up the goods, and the other group was responsible for dealing with the warbeast's body.

The body of a warbeast was something the Big Boys wanted to sell, but because the body was far too strong and extremely heavy, they would not be able to move it. So they could only bitterly bite their tongues and abandon it after Erza extracted the beast core from within it. The core of a beast was beneficial when used in one's practice. It contained the true essences of the beast.

In a flash the caravans were repaired, everyone resumed their travel to Mirage City once more. Now, Erza was sitting at the front of the very best caravan they had to offer where the owner of the goods, Trevor, sat with a friendly smile.

Suddenly a thought flashed through Moses' head. Turning to Erza, he asked, "Ah, Miss Erna, seeing how young you are, you've only just started to travel within the Northern Continent, correct?"

Erza nodded her head, "Yes, I've only been travelling for less than a year."

"Then would you consider joining our Big Boys? While we aren't extremely strong, every member here is very close. We're a tightly knit group. After traveling the Northern Continent for many years, our experience is quite abundant. Plus, if you travel with us, you will be familiarized with the continent quickly and learn of the many dangers."

"Even the strongest of mercenaries will lose out on many things if they are not experienced with the continent." Moses spoke with an anxious look of anticipation as he tried to rope Erza into his group.

Giving an apologetic smile, Erza replied, "This one thanks Captain Moses for his offer, but I've already joined a guild."

"Ah, what a great shame then." Moses said disappointedly. He then looked at Erza once more and spoke again, "For a guild to have a person like you, then that must mean that guild is quite strong."

Erza shook her head with a bitter smile, "Right now aside from me, there is only one other person in it. I am the leader."

Moses looked at Erza with astonishment but no words came out from his mouth. The man was thinking about something inside his head.

Afterward the group continued to travel toward Mirage City slowly. On the road, Erza's position within the Big Boys had took a drastic change. Everyone was very respectful to her to the point of far surpassing that of their captain Moses. Even Captain Moses himself had taken on a warm and affectionate tone with her.

The road was relatively peaceful after that. Another two days went by before the caravan finally reached the territory of Mirage City.

Soon, in front of them, the tall city walls of Mirage City greeted everyone's eyes. Despite being a small city, there was quite a large amount of soldiers on top of the city walls observing the traffic.

The caravan entered the city without any problems. Erza and the Big Boys bid each other farewell and set about their own paths.

Seeing Erza walk farther and farther away, Moses had a look of hesitation on his face as he sat on his mount. His head lowered in thought before biting his lips as if he had reached a conclusion before turning to look at this group of mercenaries. "Brothers, after all of the goods are delivered properly, do not leave yet. There is one more matter I wish to talk to everyone about."

"Yes, captain!"

The Big Boys all cried out in agreement. Although each one of them had some sort of question on their mind, not a single one of them said it out loud.
