I gained consciousness in the Dream Realm, or so it's called. Aleks's Dream Realm was a dark blue representation of Space. It looks so strange and... pretty.
"Beautiful, is it not?" Said a female voice.
I turned around and saw a great tall woman. I took in her appearance, Orange with black accents and green eyes.
"Who...are...Wait. You're... a Goddess, aren't you?"
"Why yes, at least I was. Before I died," She said. "My name is Vulcan, the former Goddess of Space."
"If you're the last Goddess of Space, that would make you Miss Jupiter's mother?" I asked.
"Why yes, aren't you perceptive." She said with a smile.
"Why are you here of all places? Your husband, Chronos. was in my dreams."
"Darling is... special compared to other Gods. Unlike myself, his death grants freedom, rather than my captivity. The only catch is, he does not choose where he goes, but I do."
"So then you chose to stay with your family," I said. "Considering where you are."
"Yes. I chose to stay in the youngest of my bloodline. In their dreams, to guide them."
I looked around the space.
"This sky... it's the sky of his home. Less light pollution, and the night sky is blue, with the stars visible. This is what he dream about?"
"Yes. He's still very homesick. Though, this isn't his proper dream. Merely where his dreams are hosted."
"So where is he?" I asked.
"How should I know? Take a look yourself?"
I looked down and saw a small hole. I jumped down into the void.
I opened my eyes to end up in Aleks's room. With Aleks laying down on his bed, headphones around his ears, plugged into his phone.
"Can he see me?" I whispered.
"Yeah, I can." He said, looking up at me.
"Eeep!" I fell back.
"Whoa there!" He grabbed my arm before I fell.
I looked up and saw his smiling face.
"You alright? Well I guess so, since this isn't real and all."
I turned red in the face.
"H-how'd you know it was a dream?" I said, trying to hide my face.
"Hm.... I guess it's 'cuz... you're here? And that I'm even dreaming at all."
"You... don't normally dream?" I asked.
His smile turned somber.
"Given my childhood, I would rarely dream, and when I did, it wasn't really anything happy. Having an actually good dream, kinda tipped me off." He said.
"And me being here makes this dream good?" I asked.
His face went a bit red.
"Yeah, I guess so. You're a great person, and a really good friend."
Friend. That word echoed throughout my entire body several times over. So this is what it feels like.
"Friend huh... Well that's nice. You're a great friend too." I replied, faking a smile.
He winced a little bit.
"Are you alright there?" I asked.
"Yeah... I guess my body fell or something." He said, feigning a smile.
"So... what now?" He asked.
"Give me a moment." I said. "Fae?"
"My Queen!" A Faerie popped up.
He fell back into the wall.
"What's that cretin doing in my head?!" He said.
"They're Faeries, not cretins. Plus I'm here, one Fae won't make a difference."
"Well... you're different."
"Fae?" I said. "Can you wrap this up for me?"
"It will still take some time. You will know once it's ready. Once it is, fall asleep, you and the wretch, and all will be well."
"Wretch? Why you-" He said, mad.
"Goodbye!" Shouted the Fae.
I chuckled, "Don't mind them, if it's not me, they don't really respect regular people."
"So we just have to wait?"
"I guess so."
"You...wanna talk about something?" He asked.
"Well, how's it going? Things are getting weirder with each day." I said.
"It's alright. Everything is getting weird, but it's fine, especially with nice friends to make things easier."
*The friend zone... it hurts.* I thought.
"And what about you?" He asked.
The mood got a lot more dim.
"Where do I start?" I asked.
"From the beginning, I'd suppose." He replied.
"...All my life I had these weird powers, the Light that would come from my hands. I always knew something was up with me. But I never thought I was special. I could never be so great or even good. I only ever thought I was strange. Out of place, like I didn't belong, like I shouldn't be here."
I continued.
"A few kids saw it happen. They wouldn't talk to me after that. I didn't notice though, since no one would talk to me anyway. I only ever saw these hands of mine, with the Light they hold, to be a source of my problems, and struggles. Why I will never fit in. Why I never had anybody."
"You have your parents, your sister, don't you?" He asked.
"But what would they know? What would they say? What if they hated me for being strange. For not being the daughter they wanted. It's not like I ever was what they wanted, anyway."
"Hey, don't talk like that!" He said.
I looked at him, eyes watery.
"This whole thing, it's weighing me down. What could someone like me do? The Fae are all I have, and even then, they probably want a better Queen than I could be. What good am I here when I never was any good?"
My tears were rolling down my face at this point. All the stress from these last few weeks built up, and now I'm troubling this boy. Who hardly even knows me. Who I like but can't say so.
But...instead of saying nothing, he hugged me.
"Don't put yourself down like that! You're so much more than you make yourself out to be! Whatever you say, whatever you are, however you are, your family will care. And if they don't, we'll be there for you, I"LL be there for you!"
I had reached my breaking point.
Sobbing, I said: "But why me?! You hardly know me! Why do you care so much about me!"
"I care because I'm your friend. I care because I was you!" He shouted.
"Whuh?" I said, hardly able to speak coherently.
"For so long I thought those same things. People made fun of me for not having a Mom and I thought there was nothing I could say, nothing I could do. My Dad is the one who helped me. I want to help you too. I'm here. I'll listen. Even if no one else will, even if you think that."
After that we stayed together for a few minutes, hugging.
I got the signal from the Fae.
"It's time to go now." I said.
"Yeah, just don't tell anyone, okay?" He said.
"I think so too."
We went on the bed. I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine. We fell asleep.
