Chapter 1 - Prologue

Late in the middle of the night, a man laid in bed beside his wife hiding underneath his blanket as he scrolled down on his phone. Milo, a grown man who had to hide underneath a blanket as he read web novels so he wouldn't wake her. Of course, his wife didn't have a problem with him reading, but he didn't want to wake her up because he knew how tired she was and just wanted her to get her rest without the droning light of a phone to wake her.

Milo sighed as he finished reading a chapter of one of the forty novels he was currently reading because Milo realized he had caught up on every single one of them. Most people would think that reading forty books at once would be insane, but these folks were fools in his eyes. How could you not embrace the many different worlds that authors poured their creative imagination into? Every book, page, and character was a perspective that one could never experience! One of Milos favorite quotes that he loved to recite was "Perspective is a reality!" but of course it had been long forgotten who had said it first but none the less a reasonable quote.

Slowly, Milo started to browse through his phone looking for other things to do before he would fall asleep like every other night, but soon something caught his eyes as everything on his news feed related to one thing.

VRMMORPG! The world of Althera, where myths and legends come alive! Will you become a legend.

One of the articles titled as such which he never really trusted anymore because most the time it would be nothing but click bait. Still, giving in, he tapped the article and started to read, but soon his disappointment turned into sheer excitement as he began to watch the video within the report.

"NO FREAKING WAY!" Milo screamed out as he came to a stand, waking his wife in the process as she jumped up in pure fright.

"Milo! What the hell is going on? Is there a robber? Where's the gun? Did you call the cops?" his wife screamed out as she stared at her husband who was still standing on the bed drooling like a blubbering idiot. That's right, Milo was standing on his bed, but soon he jumped off and ran out the room. Running down a hallway as quickly as he could, a door came into his sight before he jumped up and kicked the door open with all his might.

*BAM*

The door flung open and slammed against the wall with a loud crash that shook the entire house.

"AHHHHHH!What the f*ck?" screamed a young man, "DAD? What's wrong?" as he looked in terror upon his father's visage. Soon Milo pounced upon his son with his phone shoved into his face screaming "Look, Abel? Do you see this shit? Watch, watch!" As he turned up the volume to the max and stared at his son and the video again with the utmost ferocity. Soon enough, his wife and daughter came running into the room to see what the hell was going on.

"SHHHHHHH!!!!" Milo shushed and glared at the two before turning his attention back onto the video.

"No....f*c..." his son tried to say before his mother interrupted, "Abel!".

"No....he's right...NO F*CKING WAY RIGHT?" yelled Milo but his wife stared daggers at him. Milo didn't even seem to faze at the prospect that he would be sleeping on the couch for the next week or so before he grabbed his son out the room and down a flight of stairs before grabbing his keys.

"Dad, where are we going?" asked Abel with excitement before his father replied. "To your uncles, of course!" Soon they were flying down the road, way past the speed limit before they came to a screeching halt. In the middle of the road, two cars had abruptly stopped before two grown men jumped out and ran to each other as if they were going to fight each other to the death.

"Jason!" screamed Milo with ferocious vigor.

"Milo!" a voice replied at the same time.

"You saw the news didn't you?" they both yelled at each other before nodding.

"Dad...Uncle Milo...what the hell is going on?" a voice muttered in utter confusion within the other car.

Milo stared into the car seeing his three nephews looking as if they just got the crap scared out them before being dragged out the house in their pajamas. He turned back to his brother as his brother's gaze averted from his car and stared each other in the eyes before they both said at the same time.

"Call the others; we're about to f*ck sh*t up!"
