Chapter 2 - New Paths

Part I

It was warm and I could smell the scent of flowers around me. My eyes were shut, but I could tell I was in a welcoming environment. I had a dream where Uki-chan, the cute girl from class, was my girlfriend, and on my way home from my date, I was struck in the head by something, and when I regained consciousness I was sleeping in Oneka-senpai's lap.

Well I guess it's only going to be a dream if it has Oneka-senpai in it.

I opened my eyes a little and instantly light jabbed in. I looked around and saw that I was enveloped in warm pink sheets.

I don't own any pink sheets?!

I stretched out my arms but there was room to spare. At the end of the bed was a small nightstand. The room was large with light pink walls and a large white closet and dresser.

Something under the sheets moved. For a split second, my heart froze.

What the hell!?

I carefully lifted up the sheets and peeked under. My nose sunk into a web of warm golden fibers. I lifted the sheets a bit more and found Mia-san's head resting against my chest. I could feel her warm breaths.

Holy shit! Why is the S Ranked girl of our school sleeping on my chest!

So many thoughts rushed my head. I tried to get away but as I tried to slip out of her grasp, she made a cute cranky moan and stuck to me tighter. Her chest against mine was too much for me to handle.

My heart just might explode!

My hand started to move on its own toward Mia-san's chest.

Shit! My I can't control my hand! I can't stop myself! I need to know how they feel in my hand!

As my hand approached Mia-san, the door flew open and Oneka-senpai stepped in, all dressed and ready for school.

Okena-senpai had a surprised look on her face as my hand instantly recoiled.

"Mia, wake up. We have school. You too, Akira Tsuruoka. Here I was concerned for your health, but I'm sure you are feeling better considering you can grope a girl in her sleep."

"I.."

I tried speaking but my jaw couldn't move.

"Mmm okay," Mia-san said as she jumped off the bed , suddenly full of vigor, as if nothing had happened.

"You looked warm, so I had to join you," Mia-san said to me as she smirked and ran her finger down my chest.

Holy shit! All of that wasn't a dream! WAIT! If it wasn't a dream, then that means I actually have a girlfriend!

Mia-san left to room to go get dressed. I looked down and saw I only had my boxers on.

I was stripped in my sleep! I was stripped in my sleep by the hottest girls in the school!

"Thank you for taking care of me!" I yelled.

I threw on my clothes which were neatly folded on the side of the bed post and ran towards the front door.

"Where do you think you're going all by yourself?" Oneka-senpai's voice called out.

"Oh, I was just heading out. Thank you for taking care of me, I think I am fine. I'll just skip school today and rest at my apartment." I said as I laughed nervously.

"Akira, I have checked the school records and you are on the border of failing. I cannot nor will not allow you to skip school. Mia and I will come with you to your apartment to help you move in. You will live with us for a while."

Huh? Live with?

My brain couldn't comprehend what was going on.

"What! No, no, I am fine. I…" I couldn't speak. Just the thought of spending time with Oneka-senpai was incomprehensible, let alone living with her.

"That wasn't an option. That was an order,"

She had a look that sent chills down my back.

Soon, we all headed out for my home, walking together with me in the middle and Oneka-senpai and Mia-san to my sides. They both looked really good in their uniforms, walking with a perfect posture. The small red stripes on the brown uniforms fit uniforms suited them well. I felt as if I wasn't trusted enough to go home by myself being sandwiched between them. But hey, I'm not complaining being between dimes. We reached my apartment and I got into my school uniform as fast as possible. My hair was ruffled, and my shirt was wrinkled. I went back downstairs to find both of the girls waiting for me. It really felt like a police escort. As we approached the school gates, more and more kids began to notice me. Heads turned as I walked alongside the two hottest girls in the school. I heard a few people mutter behind my back, both boys and girls were jealous.

"Who is that guy!"

"Why are they with him!"

I got confused angered looks from everyone, but we just kept walking. When the time came for us to split paths. Oneka-senpai turned and looked at me right in the eye.

"Meet us after school at the gate,"

"Okay", I replied.

I continued on my day, but I could feel my classmates stares, inspecting every movement I made. Some kids were even taking notes on my behaviors. Everyone looked at me with complete hatred, and some of the boys threw little eraser chunks at me. This was exactly why I didn't want to be involved in anything special. When the bell rang for lunch, my two perverted partners in crime, Kiyota and Tamon, came over to me.

"Akira-kun, please don't tell me that the rumors of you hanging with Oneka-senpai and Mia-senpai are true", Kiyota said.

"Yes yes, you will be targeted by everyone and the ones you call allies might turn against you", Tamon said as he pushed his glasses up.

Huh?

"Tsuruoka-kun!"

Uki-chan shouted my name as she ran up to where I was sitting. That's right! I am dating Uki-chan!

"Oh, hey. Uki-chan."

"How are you doing today?" Uki-chan said as sat next to me.

"WHAT?!" Kiyota and Tamon shouted.

"What the fuck! When did you…" Kiyota said in disbelief.

Tamon just dropped to his knees and started crying. Kiyota put a hand on his shoulder and they walked away slowly.

Uki-chan had a confused look on her face. Then she turned to me.

"I heard you came into school with Okena-senpai and Mia-senpai. You are mine, aren't you?" Uki-chan said as she grabbed my hand. My back started to get sweaty. It was the first time a girl held my hand.

"Oh, yeah yeah. It was nothing serious. I just happened to walk in between them as I entered the school", I said nervously.

That was such a bad lie.

I never knew Uki-chan was the jealous type. She looked cute when she was mad though.

"Then its fine," Uki-chan said as she smiled at me. I wondered if it was normal for her to be this overprotective of me.

"Oh ya! I made you lunch!" She said handing me a bento box.

"Oh, thank you. I guess I'll eat it right now, I said, putting the lunch that I bought for myself aside.

I took a bite of Uki-chan's food. It was delicious!

"This is really good! I love the flavors!" I said to show my appreciation.

Uki-chan blushed.

"I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I woke up early to make both of our lunches. I suppose I should make you lunch everyday if you like it that much".

"Oh, I don't want to bother you with that much work,"

"If it's for you, I don't mind!" She said smiling at me.

The bell rang and lunch was over. Uki-chan got up from my side and headed off to her next class with a smile on her face.

Soon the school day ended and everyone started heading out towards the gate. I went towards the gate and saw Oneka-senpai and Mia-san waiting. Mia-san was smiling like always, but Oneka-senpai was leaning against the brick gate with her eyes close. As I ran to them, everyone stared.

"Again, thank you for helping me"

"We are going to your home," Oneka-senpai said.

"Huh, why are you two coming with me?" I said being very confused.

"Your head must have been hit really hard to already forget what I said this morning. You're going to be living with us until you have recovered. Your injury doesn't seem that bad for you to go to the hospital, but you will stay with us so you can pass your finals."

"Oh no no. I'm fine. You don't need to be concerned about me. I think I can manage to keep my grades."

"You will be staying with us. That's final. Now let's go," Oneka-senpai said as she started to walk out of the school gates. Mia-san followed her. I guess we were going to my apartment.

We walked through the streets and passed by the rice fields, the same place where I was found. As we got closer and closer to my home I realized that this would be the first time a girl would be inside my apartment. I began to sweat, Oneka-senpai and Mia-san are about to walk in and see my anime posters all over the walls. When we reached my apartment, I stepped ahead of them.

"I'll go get my things. You guys can stay down here" I said to avoid them from coming up.

"No, we'll help you get your stuff," Okena-senpai said.

"You don't have to, I am sure it is heavy and I wouldn't want to cause you any problems. I can deal with it alone." I said nervously as I wiped off the sweat on the back of my neck.

Oneka-senpai walked passed me and went up to the second story.

"Looks like we are going to be roommates! I'm very excited!", Mia-san said as she passed by me.

I unlocked the door and my heart squeezed. I flipped the light switch.

"Oh…" Okena-senpai said as she saw my anime wallpapers and actions figures lined up across the shelves.

I wanted to die.

"Pack some clothes, you'll need to take a bath." Oneka-senpai said as she took a tour of my room.

I didn't know how long Oneka-senpai planned for me to stay with her, but I packed a suitcase full of clothes. Mia-san was preoccupied observing and handling my action figures. Normally, I'd never let anyone touch them, but I couldn't say no to a nice and gentle girl like Mia-san.

"You should open a widow, get some fresh air," Oneka-senpai said as she lifted with widow.

A gentle breeze turned some of the magazine pages that were on the floor. The main gate slammed shut and the apartment shook a little. The door to my closet opened.

Thud!

Out of my closet, a long white pillow hit against the ground. My body pillow fell right at Okena-senpai's and Mia-san's feet. The half-naked anime girl just lied there.

Oh…Please kill me now.

I lived alone because my parents are normally touring the world through their work, so the pillow served as company. It's sad, I know.

Soon, I locked my door and we all headed towards Oneka-senpai's home.

This is definitely the first and last time they are coming here.

When we arrived, I realized how large of a house she actually lived in. I was so caught up in the morning that I didn't realize it. She lived in a huge mansion-like home, with many windows. Stepping inside, there was a dazzling crystal chandelier above the door. Two stairs curved and led upstairs, and straight ahead was the kitchen. To the right was a large room with leather couches and an office desk. The house was quiet, completely empty. We all went upstairs to Oneka-senpai's room. I took a good look around. I realized that I slept in her room last night.

Wait. Here I was. Last night, I slept in Oneka-senpai's room, and with her too! God, Buddha, and the heavenly saints, thank you giving me the opportunity to experience this moment!

"We've set up a room for you. It's between Mia's and mine, just in case you ever need us." Okena-senpai said.

"Uh, thank you," I replied not knowing what to say.

Mia-san went to change in her room as Oneka-senpai showed me around my room. It was huge! Much larger than my entire apartment. The walls were a greenish-blue color, unlike senpai's pink room. There was a King-sized bed at the corner, a table, and even a flat screen TV. There was a bathroom for each room which was connected by doors.

"You have a large house, Okena-senpai. Do you live alone with Mia-san?" I asked her as she was leaving my room.

"Mia's parents live in Europe, so she lives with me. My father often travels for his work, so he is never home, and…" She paused, and with a slight discomfort and quiet tone, "my mother died when I was young."

A long period of silence fell between us.

"I'm sorry about your mother," I said softly.

"No, it's been a long time. I've moved on"

She left the room. Exhausted, I lied back on the bed. It was just as soft and warm as it was in the morning. I heard some sort of humming coming from behind my head. I got up and saw on the nightstand layed the rock that supposedly struck me. The humming sound got louder as my hand approached it to grab it.

Okena-senpai or Mia-san must have taken it out of my pocket and left it here.

I picked it up and observed it closely, fidgeting it in my hand. I flicked it and it reacted by sending a small green jagged crack throughout the crystal-like structure.

What are you? Where did you come from?

I looked at it for a while. Its aura pulsated throughout the room. I put it off to the side and decided to go do some of my endless homework. I sat down and pulled out my books.

God damn it. Why is there so much work!

I stepped outside my room to get some fresh air. Out in the balcony, a light breeze flew against my face and my hair flowed with the wind. I felt relaxed, watching the sun sink into the horizon, as the sky turned from an orange-pink to a dark blue. I felt tired and went to go take a bath so I could freshen up. As I went to turn the handle, the door flung open. Mia-san stepped out with her towel and smiled at me. She was all wet with her gold hair running down just a bit past her shoulders.

Wow.

She smiled and walked by me and entered her room. In shock, I entered the steamy bathroom. After showering, I went downstairs into the kitchen to see what I could have for dinner. I opened the fridge to find it stacked with vegetables and meats that I could use. I decided to take some of the ingredients and whip together something edible. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san were drawn downstairs from their rooms toward the aroma. Their mouths filled with drool as they looked at my masterpiece. Their perfect cute girly looks were gone at the sight of food. They looked like hyenas stalking upon prey.

"I didn't know you could cook, Akira-kun," Oneka-senapi said as she took a bite.

Huh? Oneka-senpai added "-kun" to my name?

"Yes yes, I really love it," Mia-san said as she wolfed down the meal.

"Ha-ha, yeah. I've been cooking for a while since I live alone," I said nervously. I felt like I was feed the top critics on a cooking show.

We finished our dinner and headed back to our rooms. As I was heading back to my room, Oneka-senpai grabbed my shoulder.

"Come into my room, I can help you with your homework. I already know you struggled with it." Oneka-senpai said as she looked me directly in the eyes.

"Uh yeah, haha. I'll go get my stuff," I said as I went to my room to get my homework.

I sat down on the floor in front of senpai's bed. She set up a table for me next to her desk so she could watch me as I work. Normally would be watching anime at this time and procrastinating so focusing was especially hard with my senpai watching me. She saw me struggle with my English assignment and turned her chair. She got up and sat down directly next to me. She began telling what to do, but I couldn't focus on a word she said. Everything was numb for me. I got lost in her violet eyes, and her smooth voice enveloped my ears. The fragrance coming off her was hypnotizing.

"So, do you understand now?" she said.

"Uh yeah" I replied as slowly came back to reality.

Oneka-senpai looked at the clock. It was late so I packed up my things and headed off to my room.

"If you need anything, you may come into my room," Oneka-senpai said as I was leaving her room.

"Ok, thank you. Goodnight," I said as I closed her door.

I walked to my room and crashed into the bed. The rock was still on the nightstand where I left it. I closed my eyes as I wrapped myself in the comfy sheets.

I was floating through a room of darkness. Alone and cold.

Out of nowhere, a small purple light appeared. My years of anime watching and manga reading instinctively made me reach out with my right hand and grab the light.

That's what all the characters do in anime.

BAM!

Green lightning spread in every direction from my fist. The same color green that I saw in the rock. It lit up the darkness and broke the silence. Suddenly, a sharp, stinging feeling started to occur in my right hand. The pain was immeasurable and blood started to drip from the back of my hand. I screamed in pain but the sound of the green lightning was deafening.

In an instant, the green flashing lights stopped and the pain was relieved. I was shaking. I opened my eyes slowly and found a bow and arrow tattooed on the back of my hand. Blood dripped all over from my hand, but the tattoo glowed green.

"So you have been chosen to wield Arodis…" a deep monotone voice said in the darkness.

"Huh, who are you? What did you do to me?!" I yelled back at the voice

"You must figure out the answers to your own questions," the voice said.

"I've simply come here to introduce myself to my next wielder"

"Wait, what do you mean! I am super confused. What do you mean 'Wielder'? And what is this Arodis?" I said frantically.

"Ahahaha, they always ask many questions at the start don't they. Don't worry, I live inside of you so I'll keep in touch" the voice said as he laughed.

"Hey! Wait!" I shouted.

A thick green gas started to fill the void, as I started to cough. With an instant, the gas blew out of the way and I realized I was floating in the middle of outer space. Bright stars twinkled around me, colors all around. My legs started to feel heavy and I started to accelerate down. I flew past galaxies, stars looked like white streaks. Within a few seconds, I was crashing into Earth. A fire started to burn up around me as wind filled my cheeks. As I fell, I saw Japan, as if I was zooming in on my hometown. With an instantI crashed right into a Oneka-senpai's mansion of a house. I broke through the roof and dropped straight into my body.

I gasped as I rose from my bed instantly.

"What the fuck was that!" I said, looking around the dark room.

My entire body was sweating and I was panting really hard. I looked at the clock. It was only 3 A.M. That was the worst nightmare I ever had, I was too tired to be awake so I decided to go back to sleep.

I woke up to the once white sheets now covered in a dark red blood color. My soul leaked out of me.

Blood?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?

I quickly took my right hand out of the sheets and examined it like I was some doctor. My palm was fine, but when I rotated my hand and there it was. A scar. A prominent mark of the bow and arrow. The same mark from my dream. I heard Oneka-senpai's footsteps from the room next door.

Shit! How the hell am I gonna clean all of this! It looks like I killed someone!

I could see a woman's feet through the gap at the bottom of the door.

"Akira, get up! We have school!" Oneka-senpai said as she knocked on the door.

My stress levels were through the roof. I couldn't let her see the sheets or she would think I killed someone.

"Akira!" Oneka-senpai kept knocking.

I scrambled around, trying to bunch all of the sheets when suddenly, the door flung open and Oneka-senpai was standing at the door looking at me, shirtless, with blood colored sheets. Her eyes widened.

Yep, I'm dead.

She stared at me and then the sheets.

"I.." I couldn't say anything.

"You can explain later. Get ready for school right now" Oneka-senpai said as she left.

She left and as Mia-san walked by she waved at me and continued with her day like nothing happened.

What the hell? Mia-senpai sure is strange for not reacting to this. Who cares though, she's hot as shit.

I got ready and folded the sheets for washing. I looked at the nightstand where the rock was. Passing by it, I saw that it started to crumble. I picked up the rock carefully to look at it. As I brought it to my eye to take a closer look, the rock's outer layer eroded completely revealing a small purple crystal. It had an arrow shape that matched the one on the back of my hand.

What the hell?

I placed the strange crystal in my pocket and wrapped my right hand with toilet paper to serve as a bandage.

I quickly made myself some toast and headed out. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san were already outside waiting for me.

"Sorry for the wait," I said nervously.

"Let's just get to school on time," Oneka-senpai said as she locked the gate.

I timidly walked next to Oneka-senpai, fearing of what she might say.

"What happened last night?" Sh asked with a concerned tone.

"Oh uh, it's hard to explain."

How am I supposed to explain what happened? I didn't know what happened myself.

"Uh… I know I'll sound crazy and it's super hard to believe, but I fell asleep and woke up like this" I said removing the toilet paper bandage to show her my right hand.

Oneka-senpia looked at my right hand and then into my eyes. Her concerned expression was serious, but I couldn't help but think that she looked really cute.

"There's nothing there Akira," Oneka-senpai said coldly as she walked passed me.

Huh? Can she not see it?

"Has that head injury of yours worsened? Is that why there was so much blood in the morning?"

"Huh? Oh, um I…"

"What ever. You are going hand wash the sheets" She said walking ahead with Mia-san following her.

When we arrived at school, I got the same glances as yesterday. Everyone talking about me behind my back was starting to piss me off. I wondered how Oneka-senpai deals with all the gossip.

People stared at my hand all day. A rumor started spreading that I had did some mischievous acts with Mia-san or Oneka-senpai, and that they fought back which resulted in me bandaging my arm. All the girls of school avoided me as I passed through the halls.

Why me..?

Uki-chan came over to me during lunch.

"Hey!" she said as she sat down next to me.

"Everyone has been talking about your hand," she said.

"Yeah, though the rumors that are being spread around aren't true," I said frantically.

"I believe you," she said in a warm voice.

It was comforting to have someone who believed me. I didn't see Tamon or Kiyote all day which was strange. Uki-chan leaned in closer and rested her head against my shoulder.

"Let's stay like this until the end of lunch," Uki-chan said.

Whah! This is so out of character for a shy girl like her!

I was stressing out but I tried to remain still. I carefully took out my lunch and began to eat it. Based off the rumors of me "attacking" Mia and Oneka-senpai, I would have expected Uki-chan to break up with me and avoid me, especially with her jealous personality.

"That smells good! Can I have some?" Uki-chan said looking at my lunch.

"Huh? Yeah, sure!" I said. I was super nervous. I was feeding a girl for the first time!

"This is so tasty! Did you make this?" Uki-chan asked as she chewed the chicken.

"Uh, actually. I just realized but, Oneka-sepai packed this lunch for me" I said.

I should thank her later for the lunch.

Uki-chan stopped chewing and got up. She looked at me in the eyes with a stern look on her face.

"I thought you liked me. Why is Oneka-senpai making your lunch? Don't tell me you are lying about the rumors, Tsuruoka-kun" Uki-chan said.

Oh shit.

"It's not like that! I mean, I'm dating you. I would never cheat on you. Actions speak larger than words, right? How about we visit the park tomorrow after school together?" I said frantically to prevent Uki-chan from getting any suspicions.

Uki-chan's frown turned into a smile. I got up from the bench and Uki-chan stepped closer to me. I looked into her blue eyes. She stood on her toes and kissed me on the cheek. Uki-chan looked down.

"We better go tomorrow," she mumbled.

The bell rang and she turned around. She started to walk away, but I just stood there. I was stuck. That kiss immobilized me.

The rest of the day burned by and I headed back to Oneka-senpai's house. Surprisingly easy to navigate to her house, after all you can't miss the mansion between the houses. Oneka-senpai said that and Mia-san and her would stay after school so I would have to walk home alone. I found the spare key hidden in the roots of the shrubs next to the door. It was strange to be in such a large house alone. At least with Oneka-senpai and Mia-san there was at least some life, but with them gone, it was dead silent. I went up to my room and unpacked my stuff. I took off the toilet paper and looked at my arm. I traced the arrow shape with my left hand. I took the crystal out of my pocket and looked at it.

Chosen one, huh? According to my manga collection, I should probably have some sort of super power now.

For the next hour, I looked like a complete idiot. I tried every super power I could come up with. I tried to lift my bag just my staring at it. I almost burned myself trying to control fire. I even tried jumping off the second floor to see if I could fly.

My ideas led me to be in a world of pain. Then I realized it.

I'm home alone. Which means that I can do anything I want before Oneka-senpai or Mia-san come back.

I knew exactly what to do. I walked over to Oneka-senpai's room and creaked open the door. An evil grin appeared on my face. I headed over towards the drawer and opened it.

JACKPOT!

In front of me was god's creation. Something that any boy in my school would die for. Oneka-senpai's underwear. This treasure was to be worshiped. I picked one black underwear up. I stretched it out to check its elasticity.

Perfection.

I grasped it in my hand and closed the drawer. Mia-san was next. I crawled over to her room and opened the drawer. The adrenaline rushing through me was too great. I slid open the drawer and found even more treasure. One from Oneka-senpai and one from Mia-san. I started to crack up.

I'm such a genius. A scum, but a genius nonetheless.

I turned around to back to my room with my loot.

"What are you doing?"

My adrenaline drained instantly and my body went limp to Oneka-senpai's voice.

I'm glad I got to do this before I die

I looked up. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san were standing at the door. Mia-san was smiling, but Oneka-senpai was staring daggers at me.

"I…I…" I stuttered.

Oneka-senpai pulled her hand back and then whipped it in my direction.

SLAP!

Her hand hit my left cheek with such force that I was knocked down. The left side of my face started to burn up.

Oneka-senpai sighed.

"I can't believe you, then again not much expected from the boy every girl looks in disgust at" Oneka-senpai said as she picked up her underwear and left the room.

THIS HAS AFFECTED ME ON AN EMOTIONAL LEVEL!

"Hehe," Mia-san laughed as she walked over to me and patted me on the head.

I rubbed my face. It was still burning from the slap. I left Mia-san's room and headed back into my own for things to cool down. Eventually, I came out of my room. I had promised to clean the sheets that I had dirtied. I finished my work and went downstairs. Oneka-senpai was cooking dinner and Mia-san was playing chess by herself. Okena-senpai had an irritated look on her face. I walked toward Mia-san. I didn't talk to her much, but she seemed very loving and caring.

"You're playing by yourself?" I asked her.

"Oh yeah, I like to keep my mind sharp with games like chess" Mia-san replied with a smile.

Mia-san was really sweet with a warm and forgiving voice. Everything about her was comforting.

"Would you like to play with me?" Mia-san asked

"Uh… sure. Though I have to warn that I'm not very good," I said nervously.

"I'll have to go easy on you then," Mia-san she teased.

We started our match. I focused really hard and planning moves one step ahead but Mia-san still won. She was a quick and efficient thinker, which I found really hot. We played game after game, but no matter what, I was always humiliated.

"Don't worry. Every time you play, you get better. The key is to be thinking 10 to 15 moves ahead," Mia-san said after her 11th straight win.

I began to fear what would happen if she actually tried.

Mia-san got up to help with dinner while I watched TV. The sun sank and dinner was served. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san sat down at the table and presented me with stir fry vegetables and soba noodles.

"Thank you for the food, Oneka-senpai, Mia-san!" I said as I took a bite.

Delicious!

"This is really good!" I said enthusiastically.

"Thank you," Oneka-senpai said. She was back to her original self.

After dinner, I got up quickly and took everyone's plate. I decided to wash the dishes especially after my crimes from the morning and being lazy for the rest of the day. The moon was out and I decided to go outside on the balcony. Both girls accompanied me. Mia-san pulled out a telescope and Oneka-senpai pulled out three foldable chairs. The chairs were set up around the telescope and we each sat down, taking turn observing the night sky.

"The night looks beautiful today," Oneka-senpai said.

"Yeah," I said.

Her violet eyes twinkled under the moonlight. Mia-san was bent over, with her hair drooping down around the telescope. A cool breeze swayed their silky hair. Soon, Oneka-senpai and Mia-san got up and headed back into their rooms. I looked into the telescope and observed the moon. It looked like a perfect circle through the naked eye, but with the telescope, I could see all the imperfect crates on the surface.

The temperature began to fall and it was lonely so I decided to fold up the chairs and put the telescope from where I saw Mia-san pull it out. I grabbed the dried sheets from the laundry room downstairs and made my bed. I crawled inside the comforters as my eyes started to feel heavy. Slowly, I fell asleep.

Part II

It was dark again.

I must be dreaming.

I was floating in the middle of a black room. I looked up to see a white door standing out in the darkness. I made my way towards the door, turning the knob and entering. The door led to an empty room, that was pitch black. Suddenly, the entire room burst into a crimson red flame. I was inside a ball of fire and in front of me was a large black wall. I pressed my hand against the wall and felt it had cold scales texture. My eyes followed the walls dimensions. Taking a step back, I saw that the "wall" was no wall but the body of a huge monster like snake with its giant snakehead staring right at me.

"Jesus Christ!" I yelled.

"Oh, you found me," the snake spoke.

"What the hell even are you?" I asked.

"Hey, that hurt my feelings, I am not an object, I have feelings," the snake said in a saddened voice.

The voice was deep and familiar.

Where have I heard this?

I kept thinking until it snapped to me.

"You're the one who did this to my hand! The one from my dream last night!" I shouted as I showed the snake the back of my right hand.

"Yeah, doesn't it look cool?" The snake said.

"What the hell? No, it doesn't look cool! My hand has a permanent weird ass thing that apparently only I can see! Not to mention the blood covered sheets and my embarrassment in explaining what happened to Okena-senpai and Mia-senpai," I said looking at the arrow.

"I don't see why you are stressing out, I think it looks good on you"

I gritted my teeth. This snake like thing was pissing me off.

The snake had a shiny purple body and eyes of green fire. He also had two small wings on his back.

Who the hell is this snake?

"By the way, I'm not a snake. You can stop calling me that," the snake said.

What the hell? How does he know what I am thinking!

"I'm inside you, so it should be pretty obvious I know what you're thinking," the snake said.

"How the hell are you inside me?!" I said finally.

"Arodis hit you, thus I was embedded in you," the snake said.

"Arodi-what? Also can you please just tell me who you are?" I begged.

"Oh yeah, I haven't told you my name. My name is Xennor. The "X" is pronounced like a Z" the snake said.

"Ok Xennor, what is this Arodis thing you speak of?" I asked.

"Arodis is a magical item created by the Rift Imager. Don't ask who or what that is, no one knows, not even I. I just know the name. Anyways, it is a very powerful item that can be used to save or destroy many different universes. I am just the being that lives and guides those who wield Arodis. Thus, you and I are one" Xennor said.

"So what do you want me to do?" I asked.

"That's your decision. Previous wielders have had different goals" Xennor said.

"What do you mean previous wielders?"

"You're not the first human to inherit Arodis. When a wielder approaches the end of his or her life, the crystal is ejected into space where it roams until it can find a new host. It is rare for someone to have so much power on this planet."

"So, you're saying I am very lucky?" I said.

"Eh, I guess. This is the seventh time Arodis has come to Earth." Xennor stated.

I might just have to go to the doctors about these dreams.

"Haha, nice joke. A doctor won't be able to cure you out of this. Well, it's time you leave, don't worry though, if you can see me now then you'll be able to stay in touch. After all, I'm not going anywhere. Anyways, you have a surprise waiting for you," Xennor said.

What surprise?

Xennor started to fade and the fiery room burned out.

"Have fun kid, not too much though." Xennor said as his voice faded.

"WAIT! I have more questions!" I shouted, without response.

My eyes opened.

I was still in bed. I tilted my neck up to see the red digital clock on my desk. It was two forty five in the morning. Both my arms felt heavy as if they were attached to bowling balls. I looked to my right but I tapped my nose against something hard. I looked and saw Oneka-senpai's head was resting on my arm. Her hair was spread out all over the bed and in my right hand. She had wrapped her legs around the entire right side of my body. Her chest pushed against me. I could feel my brain deleting memories to make space for this one. The softness that my right side was feeling was godly. It was a literally the feeling of two soft pillows being pushed against me. Oneka-senpai looked so peaceful while she was sleeping.

I tried to move my left arm so I could hug Oneka-senpai as she slept but something was holding me down. I turn my head to the left and hit my nose again.

God damn it! What the hell!

Then I realized Mia-san was sleeping on my left arm. She also was wrapped around me, with her legs twisted around my left leg. Her pillows were pushing up against me aswell. I was sandwiched between two pairs of the worlds softest things. My brain was melting. I was in heaven.

Oh damn! This is the type of surprise I want to see!

Is this technically cheating? I mean it wasn't me who told them to sleep with me!

Then, it hit me. My arms started to feel heavy and it started to get uncomfortable. I usually turned a lot when I slept, maintaining an equilibrium so that I could sleep well; however, this time I had two anchors on my arms. It started to disturb me, but I couldn't move. I didn't want to mess with the girls sleep. I had already caused them enough trouble just by living with them. It was only practical of me to let them sleep peacefully. Somehow, I managed to close my eyes and fall asleep.

The sun shined directly onto my face and woke me up. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san were starting to wake up. They twisted and turned, groaning. When Mia-san moved, I quickly slipped out my left arm. My left arm was asleep. Oneka-senpai turned around again to face me. I slowly turned my head to the right. Oneka-senpai's eyes were wide open and looked directly into mine.

"Ehhh? How did I get here?!" Oneka-senpai said in a surprised voice as she rolled off my arm.

I could feel the blood flow return to my hands.

"Oh, uh. Good morning" I stuttered as my face started to turn red.

"I don't know what happened, I was passing by your room and then my mind just went blank," Oneka-senpai said as she wrapped a blanket around her.

"Oh uh" I was so confused.

"Jeez, sometimes I wonder if your lower half makes the calls" I heard a voice in my head.

I recognized that voice. It was Xennor's.

What the hell? I must be going insane, I'm starting to hear things in my head. Is this even real?

"Of course, this is all real bud. I told you I am part of you now. I usually remain dormant and just listen to your hilarious thoughts" Xennor said.

Oneka-senpai left and Mia-san got up to get ready. Within a few minutes, they were downstairs in the school uniform making my school lunch.

Ahhh how nice to have two total babes making lunch for me.

Oneka-senpai came to my room as I was getting ready.

"Does it always take you this long to get ready? Are you still hurting in the head?"

"Ouch, split personality, huh?" Xennor said.

"I know right…Wait, will you be listening to everything I say and hear" I thought.

"Don't worry, I won't listen in on your lovey-dovey words,"

Once I was all prepared, I ran out the door. I had two things on my mind, what Oneka-senpai packed me for lunch, and my "date" with Uki-chan. As we approached the school gates I got glared at, but at this point, might as well get used to it. It's been a while since I've spoken to Kiyota or Tamon, maybe they are avoiding me. I should probably ask them if they want to hang out at the arcade.

The bell rang to mark the start of the day. We were receiving new seats because of the new semester. I was seated in the back right seat next to the window. Coincidentally, Uki-chan was seated to my right. She was very happy about the seating arrangement, but I knew that I wouldn't be learning anything in this class after this change. Not that I learned anything before, but being in the top right of classroom means that I'm the main character, well at least in reference to all the anime I've seen. Class started and the teacher was writing some sentences on the board. I was following with the teachers writing, trying to focus on the task at hand but I felt like I was being watched. I turned my head in Uki-chan's direction and saw her staring at me.

"Hey, Tsuruoka-kun!" Uki-chan whispered.

"Yeah?"

"I finally got your attention after so long! I even hit you with eraser shreds, but you didn't seem to notice!" she said with a irritated but cute face.

I looked at the floor next to my desk. Pink eraser chunks were littered all over the floor.

"Oh, sorry," I said.

I started to collect the eraser chunks with my feet.

"I am excited to go the park with you!" Uki-chan said as she smiled.

"Yeah, but you'll have to wait till after school," I said.

For some reason it felt like I was talking to a child.

"Okay, class. Now I have your tests from last week" the teacher said.

Crap. I really didn't want to see that test ever again.

"Akira Tsuruoka," the teacher said as he looked around the classroom.

Great, I'm first.

I got up from my desk and dragged my feet across the floor. I went up to go get my test.

"Akira-kun, you'll have to do a lot better to pass this class," the teacher said.

I glanced at my test.

37%!!! Well, not gonna lie, it was higher than I expected.

All the students were called one by one up. Many were happy when they collected their scores, and some were dead inside like me. Uki-chan went up and got her score. Instantly her face shined at the score. She skipped over to me and shoved her 100 in my face.

"Yay! I'm so happy!" Uki-chan said.

"This makes me almost as happy as when you accepted my confession!"

"Oh, good job. I'm proud of you," I said jealously.

Uki-chan's face lit up.

Although I was depressed for my grade, seeing Uki-chan so happy made me feel good inside. She was very loving and innocent, making her the cutest person I've ever met.

"Tsuruoka-kun, you didn't do well did you?" Uki-chan looked at me with a serious face.

"Uh ha, no. I can't say I'm strong in English" I said laughing nervously.

"I'll tutor you! We can go to my house and I can teach you there! Just me and you, alone…" Uki-chan said as she blushed.

"I'll be grateful for that," I said with a smile.

"By the way, Uki-chan. Meet me outside the gates after school so we can start our date" I said.

"Yes!" she said as her ears jumped up.

Soon enough, the bell rang and school was over. I went to wash my hands in the bathroom where I found Tamon and Kiyota there.

"Hey, what's up you guys?!" I said.

"Oh hey, Akira" Tamon and Kiyota said.

I guess they aren't mad about me dating Uki-chan or walking home with Oneka-senpai and Mia-san.

"Don't worry, we aren't jealous of you anymore, Akira. We found this app where we can meet other girls from different schools." Tamon said.

"Yeah! We are going to get double the amount of girls as you Akira!" Kiyota followed.

I laughed. I doubted they could pull girls from other schools especially when they fail to get girls from a school with a higher female to male ratio.

"Nice job, so what are you guys doing here in the bathroom after school?" I asked.

"We were caught drilling a hole into the girl's gym locker room by the Student Council Vice President, so we have to clean up all the boy's bathroom in the school and serve 15 hours of community service," Kiyota said.

"Yeah, it's a pain in the ass. But what the others don't know is that we have been working on a decoy hole! Our main gate is here!" Tamon said as he pulled out a map of the school.

"Oh. Damn, you guys actually managed to out play the student council. Tell me how it goes on Sunday at the arcade" I said.

"Will do!" They both said enthusiastically.

I quickly washed my hands and left for the gate, where Uki-chan would be waiting for me. As I was walking down the stairs, I realized the mark on my right hand. I forgot I was going to ask them if they could see the symbol on my hand.

"They can't see it. Haven't you already tested that theory with that one chick," Xennor's voice said out of the blue.

I tripped on the last step and fell over.

"God damn it. Why do you have to hack my brain?"

"I'm just answering your question," Xennor said.

"I thought you would leave all the discovering to me by myself"

"Ya well somethings you gotta get out of the way. Plus, I'm bored"

I pulled out the purple crystal, Arodis, as it was called, from my bag and looked at it for a split second before sliding it into my right pocket. I headed out to the gates where Uki-chan was waiting.

"Sorry I kept you waiting. I was getting ready" I said.

"It's okay. I have you now" Uki-chan said as she grabbed my left arm.

I took her school bag and we walked toward the park. I told Oneka-senpai that I would be going to the park, so I wouldn't be able to walk home with them. When we arrived at the park Uki-chan and I sat down at the benches observing people walking by. I stretched my arms, which were aching from carrying two heavy school bags.

Geez, does the school give us bricks to carry around?

Uki-chan quickly got under my arm and sat next to me. My right arm wrapped around her shoulder, and she smiled. After I felt my energy was restored, I rented a kite so Uki-chan and I could fly together. Other people in the park were sitting down on the side of the hill, staring at their kites flow through the wind. Uki-chan wanted us to fly the kite together so she made me wrap my hand around her's. The kite made a rippling sound in the wind. I could tell that she was enjoying herself. Hopefully I was showing my loyalty.

As the sun began to set, I bought us ice pops.

"Tsuruoka-kun! Lemme try some of yours!" Uki-chan said.

"Sure," I said, as I gave my ice pop to Uki-chan.

Uki-chan took a huge bite out. Half of my treat was gone. Uki-chan shoved her ice pop in my face.

"Take a bite!" She said.

I took a small bite of her pop. It tasted much better than mine.

As the sun started to set, the sky turned to a pink-orange color. Uki-chan and I made our way towards the exit of the park when I got the feeling that we were being watched. We passed by two people on a bench, reading a newspaper, that covered their face. I noticed that the newspapers had eye slits cut into them. Looking closely at the two people, I instantly recognize Oneka-senpai and Mia-san's hair.

So they were following me…I'm just going to pretend that I didn't notice their horrible disguises.

Uki-chan held on to my entire arm as we walked towards the gate. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san followed.

"Thank you for making it up to me, Tsuruoka-kun" Uki-chan said as she blushed.

Uki-chan walked up to me and put her right hand on my chest. She got on her tiptoes and went for a kiss. Our lips were about to touch when we were interrupted.

"Ahem," Oneka-senpai voice came.

Oneka-senpai and Mia-san were standing in front of the setting sun. Her silhouette appeared before me. The wind kicked up Oneka-senpai's hair. She stared at me with a deadly glare. Uki-chan opened her eyes when she realized that I didn't kiss her. She looked at Oneka-senpai.

"Oh, Okena-senpai! What are you doing here?" Uki-chan said as she pulled back blushing.

"Nothing. We just came to the park for a change in scenery. Your displays of affection are against school policy Emika Uki," Oneka-senpai said as she looked at me.

"I'm terribly sorry!" Uki-chan said bowing to Oneka-senpai

I felt targeted. The sun sank, and the night lights turned on in the park. Random clouds started to form around the park.

The weather didn't say anything about it raining.

A light drizzle became a down pour within moments. People started to run to avoid getting drenched. I took off my jacket and covered Uki-chan from the rain. Okena-senpai and Mia-san ran over to me so they could get under as well.

"You're wearing a jacket Okena-senpai!" I shouted over the loud thunder.

"So?!" She replied back.

The four of us were under my jacket, huddled together. I was the only one stuck with a t-shirt in this freezing rain. I looked at the sky. Green lighting spread across the sky. The same shade of green that I saw in my dream.

"Looks like the time has come," Xennor said.

"What?!" I replied.

BAM!

A bolt of lightning streaked across the sky in a huge roar.

My pocket started to glow green The girls noticed and started at my pants.

Why do they all have to stare down there!

I looked at the back of my right hand. Green light started to flicker from the arrow.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Consecutive lightning bolts struck down.

"Ahhh!" Uki-chan screamed as she held on tight to me.

"Hey!" Oneka-senpai said as she also held on to me.

"Everyone seems to like holding on to you Akira-kun, I will too," Mia-san said as she grabbed on to me.

All three girls were clinging on to me tightly. I struggled to breath.

BOOM!

A large lightning bolt weaved between all the girls and hit my pocket. A large green circular portal opened up beneath us and we fell right through it. Everyone lost their grip on me and fell in a complete free fall. My mind was going completely blank. I had no idea what was going on. We were all falling through a portal that was lit with green fire. I looked above and saw the portal begin to close. I reached my hand out to it but I just kept falling down. The portal shut as I saw the sky clear.

Uki-chan and Oneka-senpai were yelling while Mia-san remained calm with a smile on her face.

Does she not know what's happening? I mean to be fair I have no clue, but what the fuck?

Looking below, I saw a bright white light appear that blinded us. Passing the white barrier we opened our eyes to find ourselves thousands of feet above the ground.

"Eee!" Uki-chan screamed.

The landscape was full of trees and mountains. Far in the distance, I could see plains.

"Everyone get together!" I screamed over the roaring wind.

I assumed the Mia-san and One-san heard because they made there way over to me. I looked over at Uki-chan, she seemed unresponsive. Her eyes were closed. I moved my body in a way that I could get to her. I reached out and grabbed her wrist, holding on tight. I made my way back to the other two girls. The treetops got closer and closer.

It was a nice life. At least I will die surrounded by girls. BUT I AM STILL A VIRGIN!

"Hahahaha… your life just began!" Xennor yelled.

The arrow on my right hand lit up and my hand started to move by itself. I couldn't control my hand, it went inside my pocket and dug out the crystal. My hand grasped tightly to the crystal.

"Throw the crystal in front of you" Xennor said.

I threw the crystal towards the ground and hoped for the best.

Whatever this is, I hope it works!

The treetops started to appear larger and larger.

Did it not work? Are we gonna die!

DON!

A huge purple explosion disintegrated the trees around, and a huge air mattress appeared, sending shockwaves across the land. I fell flat first into the giant mattress. I heard two other thumps near me.

I slowly got up on all fours and looked around. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san landed safely. My hands sank into the airy cushion which had already began to deflate.

"Where is Uki-chan!" I thought, fearing that she didn't make it.

I must have accidentally let go of her when I threw the crystal. I looked around but she was nowhere in sight.

BAM!

Something hit my back and my face went back into the mattress. I felt a sharp pain in my back. I rolled over to find Uki-chan directly on top of me. She was still unconscious. I put my fingers on her neck to check her pulse. I felt her heartbeat, though it was rapidly beating. Oneka-senpai and Mia-san crawled over to me.

"Are you okay!" Oneka-senpai said.

"I'm fine," I said despite my back being on fire and having Uki-chan directly on top of me.

I carried Uki-chan on my back and we all slid of the massive air mattress. Each step I took sent a sharp pain down my spine but I kept walking.

[BOOM!]

The mattress exploded and sent a huge gust of air in every direction. Dust kicked up , and the girl's hair were kicked up into my face. When it finally cleared, I saw that where the once thick patch of trees was completely flattened into an empty plot of land. There was a base field sized area of dirt, and in the very center lied the crystal. I laid Uki-chan down gently and made my way over to pick it up.

Talk about last minute timing.

The instant I placed Arodis into my pocket, my legs and arms felt numb and I crashed to the ground.

"Akira-kun!" I heard Oneka-senpai yell as she ran over to me.

"Looks like you used all of the power inside you to save yourselves and your friends" Xennor voice ringed in my head.

"What? Is my power to make air mattresses or something?"

"No, but kind of,"

"What happened!" Oneka-senpai said as she lifted up my head on her thighs.

"I'm exhausted" I replied taking a deep breath.

Mia-san went over to check how Uki-chan was doing.

Oneka-senpai looked at my face and then the rest of my body.

"What's this!" Okena-senpai said as she lifted up my right hand.

The arrow sign was blinking purple.

"You can see it?!" I said coughing from the dust.

"Of course I can. What is this mark, and why is your hand glowing?"

"Uh, remember when the sheets got bloody and I told you that I woke up with a marking. That was the marking," I said nervously.

She looked at me with a concerned confused look.

"What is that…"

She was cut off. I heard a growing rumbling sound. I thought it was my stomach, but then I started to feel vibrations in the ground. Pebbles around me started to jump. The vibration and noise started to get more violent and louder. I turned my head to the left and saw in the distance a dust cloud moving towards our direction. As the dust cloud got closer, I started to make out hippo sized hogs charging. Their eyes were blood red and their skin was jet black and their tusks pointed downward. As the hogs got closer, they circled us.

"What's happening!" Oneka-sepain said as she grabbed on to me tightly.

Mia-san and Uki-chan were also surrounded. I couldn't move my body at all, I just laid there looking at the feet of the hogs. I wanted to do something. Something that would protect the girls, but any effort I made to my body just sent a sharp pain. Pebbles kicked up and pelted me.

SWOOSH!

Two hogs dropped dead. Their blood sprayed like a fountain all over us. Oneka-senpai dragged me away and set me upright. She supported my back so I could sit. Her marshmallows pushed against me.

So soft.

SWOOSH!

More hogs dropped dead. The group thinned and the rest of the hogs ran away.

What the fuck just happened? What happened?

A woman with red hair in silver and gold lined armor got off a large horse. She was covered in blood. She held a large sword that she rested on her shoulders.

"Ugh, I got covered in blood again…" she said to herself with disgust.

The woman lent her hand out to me.

"Are you alright?" the woman said with her hand out.

"He can't move," Oneka-senpai said.

Mia-san carried Uki-chan over to where I was. Both girls had some scratches but were fine.

"You guys aren't from here, are you? Those clothes are strange," the woman said pointing her sword at Oneka-senpai's jacket.

"Get on Maximus, I'll take you to the city," the woman said as she turned around to a Carmel brown horse.

Mia-san and Oneka-senpai got on the back of the horse. The woman came over to me and grabbed me by my waist.

"Uh…" I said as my body was lifted from the ground thrown across her shoulder like a rag.

The woman walked over to Uki-chan and lifted up Uki-chan with one arm by her collar and placed her on the horse aswell.

What the hell! How strong is this woman!

The woman slung on her sword. The hilt hit me straight in the nose, and my head fell back.

"Let's go!" The woman said to the horse.

We started moving, and with each step that the strange woman took, the hilt of the sword poked at my cheek.

I sighed as we headed into the horizon.
