I walked back home as fast as I could the only thought going through my mind was "Will the quest give me exp or not" As I reached home I quickly handed in the eggs first

I grinned seeing my grin my mom spoke "I thought wrong you indeed listen to my words I never thought I'll say it to you but...here goes.... I'm impressed"
"it was nothing Mom" I said shaking my head "Do you need me for anything else?" I asked
"Oh.."My mom looked at me with a startled expression I just kept smiling
"Mom I almost forgot seeing as you always work hard to take care of me I bought a gift for you here" I said as I handed over the package to her
Mom was left speechless she pinched me "Aahhh" I screamed in pain "What was that mom it hurt" I spoke while rubbing my arm I was able to hear her mumbling " it's not a dream how is this possible"
"Mom open it first"
Mom woke up from her stupor and nodded to me and tore opened the packet and took out it's contents it was her favourite cake

While Mom stood there completely shell-shocked I was laughing my heart out inside I got 600 exp just by going to the supermarket I was over the moon As I was about to call out my status my mom suddenly spoke with a serious tone
"Luci did anything happened at school"
"Nothing special why Mom"
"You can speak to me about anything you don't have to hold back"
"I don't get where you're going with this mom"
"Son are you being bullied or something no need to hide it from me you can speak to me"
"Mom what are you saying nothing happened"
"Don't lie to me I can feel a change in your attitude"
I finally understood she was surprised with me readily agreeing to shop and buying her a cake I could only shake my head and say " Mom I just saw the cake on display I was hungry myself so I decided to buy it When I saw your favourite cake I bought it on a whim"
My mom let out a relieved sigh I could only shake my head
As I needed to check what changes had happened to my status I said "Mom I'll go and take a bath keep a piece of cake for me aside"
"um..sure sure" She nodded
I took some clothes for me to change and a towel and got into the bathroom I laid in the tub and spoke in a low voice "Status"
