Chapter 66 - This is What I've Imagined Before

Ren immediately left after having breakfast. He was reluctant to leave Tsubaki but the thought of having his trusted people around her reassured him.

"I'll be back soon." Ren looked apologetic to his wife. "Call me if you need anything."

"Okay." Tsubaki chuckled, feeling amused. "I'm not alone here. Don't worry, okay? Just go and do what you have to do."

"You look as if your wife is in the hands of tyrants." Grandma Fuse clicked her tongue. "I will have fun with my granddaughter in-law, so you don't have to return so soon."

Ren laughed helplessly. It seemed like the longer they stayed at the old house, the higher the probability of having his wife being snatched away by his own grandmother.

"Okay, fine." Ren admitted defeat. He hugged Grandma Fuse before turning to Tsubaki who was sitting beside the old madam. She wanted to get up but he quickly pushed her down.

His lips curled up with adoration, he kissed her forehead. "I'll see you later."

Tsubaki returned his smile. "Have a good day."

Ren didn't tell her that he was going to meet Chairman Kitaoji. She still didn't know the truth behind the incident. He thought it was still unnecessary, at least until he had already sorted everything out.

Ren had personally contacted the old man once morning came. To save time, he had sent the evidences to Chairman Kitaoji. It didn't take him long to reach a decision. To save his family from falling into ruins, he chose to make a sacrifice.

"I don't want them to continue being evil..." Chairman Kitaoji told Ren over the phone. "I've failed in raising my son and grandson. If I don't do this, I'm afraid they won't stop."

Hibiki drove Ren to Kitaoji Real Estate. The company had yet to reach its silver anniversary but it was fairly a good company. It was one of the reputable estate company in the industry. The old man had been waiting for their arrival in his office. He nodded solemnly when seeing Ren's tall figure entered the room.

"Thank you for entertaining my request, Chairman Kitaoji." Ren bowed respectfully to the elder.

"What you've revealed to me isn't something we could brush off. It involved life and death." Old Master Kitaoji signaled to his assistant who stood behind him to go and fetch the required documents.

"Are you sure you want Fuse Corporation to acquire your company?" Ren's serious tone echoed in the room.

Even though he felt like destroying the entire Kitaoji Family but he still knew how to act rationally. He didn't want to further implicate the kind old man who treated Tsubaki with fairness.

"My son only knows how to follow his wife's nonsensical action and Masaru wasn't a reliable heir. My company doesn't worth much to Fuse Corporation but I believe it'd grow bigger with your guidance."

"You built this company from scratch. Don't you want to see your descendants taking over the company?" Ren asked in a deeper meaning. He didn't want the old man to regret this decision one day.

"I'd destroy thousands of lives if I chose them." Chairman Kitaoji smiled. His dull eyes carried the faint sadness he felt in his heart. "I'd meet my end soon and I don't have anyone who's suitable to handle the company. Please accept it, Mr. Fuse."

Kitaoji Masaru would be going to jail soon and Madam Kitaoji would be charged with attempted murder. The family was practically nearing their doom already.

"Please have a peaceful retirement, Chairman Kitaoji. I'd lead your company to a brighter future."

"Thank you, Mr. Fuse."

Both of them shook hands after they signed the transfer of shares agreements. Hibiki collected the documents and put them inside a briefcase.

Before Ren turned to leave, Old Master Kitaoji called out his name. Ren looked at the elder. His expression remained calm.

"I sincerely wish for your happiness with Miss Hanada. She's a nice young lady. She's so lucky to have a loving husband who could protect her when in needs." Chairman Kitaoji smiled.

A small smile played on his lips. Ren's calm mask cracked, revealing a soft face.

"I'm the one who's luckier."

Ren returned to the old house after completing some urgent works in the company. Old Yuuzo welcomed him back. Ren unbuttoned his coat and strode inside.

"Where's my wife?" Ren glanced to the living room but there was no sight of Tsubaki.

"The old madam and missus are in the kitchen." Old Yuuzo answered with a smile on his face.

"The kitchen?" Ren frowned. He got a hunch on what they were doing there.

Ren left the living room, going straight to the kitchen. As he thought, Tsubaki was baking something while his grandmother was sitting on a chair opposite her. Both of them were chatting happily.

Ren leaned sideways against the door. He couldn't help but smile at the beautiful sight of his beloved women spending their time together. It seemed like his wife was baking apple pies.

This is what I've imagined before. My pure bliss.
