"I said get out of here!", Luo Youyou's voice resounded across the space as she tightened her grip around Rong Xiao's wrist, pulling her forcefully toward the door of the private hospital ward, "We can afford other doctors, Miss Rong."
The girl frowned, pinching the space between her brows in a display of restrained patience. Her voice remained calm as she spoke, "Mrs. Xi is my patient unless someone else is assigned to her. Just let me check her vitals."
"Mom!", Xi Wei strode into the room, a takeaway coffee cup clutched in his left hand. He shot a sharp look at his mother, "Let her go. What's wrong with you?!", he clenched his jaw, stepping between the two women to separate them. Then, turning to Rong Xiao, he softened his tone, his eyes revealing hints of worry. "Xiao, are you alright?"
Rong Xiao simply nodded, managing on a forced smile.
