"I want to go back home to City Z" T announced unceremoniously, wiping her eyes.
Li Jun frowned.
"That's not for you to decide" said Li Jun in a stern voice.
"But...." T said in argument but K Pulled her gently to stop her.
"Behave, lil sister. Can't you see that the Principal is still here?"
"Hohoho.. Don't mind me kids. Be comfortable". Principal Waters said with a warm smile. Anything to please the man whose affiliated company donated so much money to him in all these years. It must be Mr Li's doing, he finally figured after years of suspense. "It much be nice seeing your father after a long time. But Mr Li, Why didn't you bring Mrs Li with you. She must be missing her girls as well?" Waters could not help asking. This whole family was weird and did not fit together. This question was the most he could ask without coming off as intrusive. He had heard that the girls had a new step mother. Then what about the real mom?
"My Wife is not well lately." Li Jun did not have to explain anything to anyone.
"Oh! I hope she gets well..." The principal began to say.
"I am taking Katherine and Tianna home. I hope its not a problem...."
"We are going back home today?!" T exclaimed happily ,cutting him off.
"To Presidio Heights" Li Jun broke her hope instantly. " Mr Waters, I thank you for your time. Please take care of my kids in the future as well" Li Jun shook the principals hand and left taking the girls on each of his arm.
At a mansion in Presidio Heights.
The table was silent and all the six chairs were occupied. At the head of the table, the silver haired man spoke in a calm voice but his eyes pierced at anyone he looked upon.
"What have you all been doing lately with all the money I sent? Am I so free to come to San Fransisco for such matters?" The calm question was directed at Sam Davis who Li Jun had assigned as guardians for the girls and in exchange, Li Jun had given him the funds to build and manage his own hospital.
" I, I.. have been busy Mr Li. I wasn't aware of this either" He looked towards the file containing T's psych report and then towards T for some sort of help but she looked so depressed herself at the other end of the table that she was of no help.
"Are you telling me to make you less busy? " Li Jun warned.
"No. No. Not at all. I will do better. I promise, Mr Li." Davis said in a hurry. It had been so long that he had known Li Jun but till now he could not be close with him. Of course they were cordial but that was the extend of their relationship. At times he could talk freely depending on the boss's mood but that was rare
"Then, I will be greatly obliged" Li Jun said sarcastically.
"Father. This is your favourite" K pushed the drink in front of Li Jun to remind him and also to calm his anger.
Li Jun nodded and sipped the chilled whiskey. He once again looked towards T.
"Your behaviour this time has been disappointing to say the least.I don't want to hear of such incidents again. You hear me?" Li Jun said staring her down, his voice hard.
"Yes, daddy." T sniffled, letting her tears fall.
The entire hall was bleary.
Li Jun turned towards the two women sitting beside Sam Davis, with their heads down.
"Mrs coopers and Mrs Adams you are both relieved from your nanny duties. You were overpaid and underworked. Please pack your things immediately" Li Jun had to fire someone to cool his head. So, he fired them both.
"Sir! Please. Please give us another chance" The two women said at the same time but they were escorted out immediately by the guards. Li Jun did not even need to say anything.
"Good riddance" T said and sniffled again.
" I will personally choose your nannies this time. Someone more qualified to handle T " Li Jun finished his glass.
"Daddy... We are not kids anymore. We don't need nannies" T yelled, still emotional about the intensive scolding she had received on the drive back home.
"Hard to believe when you still act like a spoiled brat" Li Jun scolded in a near shout.
T quieted down with more tears in her eyes and looked towards K for help. Daddy would surely listen to K.She was his favourite.
K nodded in understanding.
"Father." She called.
"Hmm?".
" Then, what about me, I don't need a nanny right? One should be enough for T" She said in a business like voice that she had learn from Li Jun.
T gasped at the sudden betrayal. Her eyes shooting daggers at her older twin.
Li Jun pondered for a second.
" Yes. I don't see the need for a nanny when it comes to you. One nanny should be fine." Li Jun turned towards T again. She was so unlike her older sister " Why are you always like this, huh?" He nearly cursed loudly but stopped himself.
" Father. What about mother? Is she doing better? What did uncle Kao say?" K asked strategically. T had riled up daddy's temper way too much today.
" Ah! Uncle Kao says she will be fine but I don't know. She looks so weak." Li Jun said warming up to his favourite topic in the world.
"You must miss mother greatly" The wise daughter said again when her father grew gentler.
"Yes." Li Jun smiled.
Doctor Davis could not understand any of the conversation between the man and his daughters for they were speaking in Mandarin, so when Li Jun's expression suddenly turned from dreamy to forlorn he could only watch in horror.
