While the Storm Sect entered the storm, the Angel Corps arrived at the Pyramid of Giza. Usdem lead expedition-group with Reiner acting as his second. The fleet of five airships landed next to the sandblasted stone pyramid.
Lucy looked upon the landscape and realized that even here last world war affected it. Large craters and holes laced the ruins of the Egyptians. Little did Lucy know, refugees tried to hide here, and eventually, the soldiers from other countries found them and bombarded the location. Now skeletons littered the halls of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
Two of the three pyramids laid there crumbled and destroyed. The only remaining ruins were the Sphinx missing its head and the Pyramid of Giza with several holes in it.
The Angel Corps gathered their gear and headed inside Giza. Usdem and Reiner sensed mana being pulled from outside as they walked inside of the structure.
"Blood Knight, do you feel that?"
"It is barely moving, but this place is absorbing mana from the entire area." The two of them being the highest level warriors they were most sensitive to mana.
A voice spoke to Lucy. "Leave this place. It is too dangerous."
"I go where I want to," Lucy responded. If Lilith didn't want her here, there must be a dangerous place. Which also means may be an opportunity for her.
The group broke into smaller teams to explore each tomb within. Reiner, Lucy, and a winged-human named Keysol made up of one of the units and left the pyramid to inspect the Sphinx statue.
The colossal limestone statue towered over the three of them. With its human head shattered into pieces, only its majestic lion's body remained over 30 feet tall. The hidden chamber hidden under it could be seen through holes the bombing created in the ground.
Looking through, Lucy could see the roof in the process of collapsing below her feet. The massive limestone pillars laid broken or cracked and barely supporting the weight of the Sphinx of Giza above it.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a light shining through a pit in the middle of the reception chamber. A bright blue light could be seen peeking through lighting up the room where the sun couldn't touch.
"Uncle, what is that over there?" Lucy asked, pointing to the blue glow.
"I don't know, but I sense powerful space laws coming from it."
When Lucy heard space laws, she was surprised. Space and time where rules, if mastered, could reshape the world as they saw fit. The laws of Light and Darkness were sub-laws of space. If Leo were here, he would be able to instantly know this energy was the same as the transfer tunnels to Ukhu Pacha.
Reiner then said, "If we get to close to it though, I don't know what will happen." As his voice trailed off, he looked over, and Lucy had already jumped down. She was determined to find something to increase her power quickly. "Lucy, come back."
"Don't worry, Blood Knight, I will follow her," Keysol responded as he flew down after her.
As the two of them walked across the floor towards the glowing pit, the hole in the floor pulsated, and a wave of energy blasted Lucy and Keysol. Right before Reiner's eyes, Lucy and Keysol vanished.
"LUCY!" Screamed Reiner. Without even thinking, Reiner jumped down, mid-way down he sent a message to Usdem. "Found where mana was gathering at..." The communication got cut off as a burst of space mana hit the Blood Knight.
"Blood Knight? Blood Knight?" Usdem tried to send a message, but he couldn't reach Reiner. He looked over at his team with worry. "Team, head towards the Sphinx Statue. I just lost contact with Blood Knight."
"Yes, Sir." They replied in unison. The two winged humans clad in Angel Corps armor moved down the tunnel to the Sphinx entrance.
While the Angel Corps were running about trying to figure out where three of their members disappeared to, Lucy, Keysol, and Reiner faced what was on the other side of the space tunnel.
In the land, on the other side, was another hidden pocket dimension. The sky was dark purple with red and pink light peeking through to the ground. Sand and rock covered the surface of this world, and many Egyptian limestone statues lined a path towards a mountain.
Lucy and Keysol looked at each other, wondering how they got here. Soon a rip in the void appeared behind them, and Reiner stepped through. As soon as the Blood Knight saw Lucy, he breathed a sigh of relief. Then he yelled, "Why were you so stupid? You know space mana can be unstable. Still, you ran straight towards it. How stupid can you be?"
Lucy shot Reiner an angry look. He knew why she was here and knew that taking a risk was the only way to get what she needed. Reiner looked at her and sighed again. When it came to this niece of his, he always was at a loss of what to do or say. One side of him was her protector, and the other side of him was her uncle.
A roaring voice broke the tension while it traveled from the mountain reaching the trio's ears. "You three have entered my domain. If you wish to leave come to my mountain." Once the voice finished, the area went silent.
Looking at the wasteland around them, Lucy spoke up, "Should we head there?" Lucy asked, pointing to the mountain.
"Yes. Keysol, lead the way. Lucy, walk in the middle, and I'll guard the rear." Even in this situation, Reiner experience allowed him to calm down and assess it. With the three of them forming up, they marched towards the mountain.
-------------------------
Somewhere up on the mountain top, Leo sat cross-legged waiting with a group of warriors. The group consisted of draconians, humans, mermanians, and even some peggians. Ever since Leo arrived at the pyramids, he had been sucked in and been waiting on the mountain. The peggians and draconians chased him and fought until they were absorbed into this space too. The mermanians were here the longest the five of them had been here for almost a year.
Leo was calm and cultivating in the world where the mana was thick and could easily be felt with every breath. He realized he could absorb mana quicker here than he could on earth. This helped him reach to the peak of the middle Core Builder realm. At any moment, he could become a late-stage Core Builder.
All of a sudden, Leo's eyebrows creased and he sensed someone's aura he hadn't felt in a while. "Lucy is here."
A beautiful blonde haired male clad in Angel Corps armor walked up to the hill into sight. A gorgeous woman followed in suit with an older ruggedly male in the rear.
"It looks like some new mice feel into this trap," said one the mermanians.
Leo ignored his comment and everything else. His stare locked onto the women walking towards them. She had a face he would never forget. Memories of their time together in Machu Pichu floated in his mind, and when their eyes locked onto each, both of them smiled lovingly.
