Chapter 107 - Animosity

"So, this is a mermanian vessel?" Mouse asked.

The five of them were walking through the beached ship. Leo led them to the crystal he became in charge of Hope with. Sadly, even the ship's back up power was drained. Even the crystal was pitch black.

"Is there any way to get it started back up again?" Shui asked.

"I don't know. You have any ideas, Shadow?" Leo replied.

Shadow thought for a second. "What if we manly crank the engines?"

Leo considered it for a second and remembered that most of it ran on mana and less on gears and machinery. As he was sitting there thinking, Shui sensed something outside.

"Some unknown force just landed," Shui told the group. "There is one Avatar warrior, one Core Builder, and two Mana Fighters."

"Shadow, go into stealth mode. Mouse, Goblin, Shui, and I will go out and talk to them."

Shadow nodded and disappeared. The human, beastmen, and golem walked off the ship to see who arrived outside. Stepping off of Hope, Leo saw a face he hadn't seen in a long time. A Japanese warrior at the peak stage of Core Building and a katana on his hip.

The three next to Hiro was an Avatar warrior from the Angel Corps. The wings on his back told them that this was a warrior from the winged human race. The other two were wearing Renegade gear and seemed familiar to Leo.

As soon as Hiro saw Leo with these monsters, Hiro clenched his fist and ground his teeth. "These are the people you betrayed us for."

Leo was ticked off at Hiro. After not seeing each other for so long, he still upset that he has friends among other races. He didn't like it back then, and by his words, he even doesn't approve.

"I didn't betray the Renegades. I had other things I needed to take care of."

"You left us, Leo. You never returned." Hiro stared at Leo infuriated. "You even drug Lucy into your mess."

"I didn't make anyone do anything."

"Stop talking to Leo like that," Goblin interjected.

"Shut up, beastman. I will deal with you in a second."

"HIRO. I won't have you talk to my friends like that. I know you feel like I wronged you, but I had to do what I had to do."

"Calm down. We are only here for the ship," voiced the winged human. Hiro shot him a look of anger. He didn't want to calm the situation. He desired to kill these people and punish the man before him. The Angel corps member was surprised to see the ordinarily level-headed Hiro so bloodthirsty and upset.

"The ship is on our land." Shui finally spoke up. The winged human looked at the rock woman with surprise. This large earth creature is at the same level as himself. "Also, it recognized Leo as its master."

The Angel Corps member wanted to refute him, but Hiro briefed him on all that information. They didn't expect to see Leo here and with an Avatar warrior himself.

The winged human decided to take a hard stance and then said, "We came here to take parts away. We are not leaving without those parts."

The two teams of four stared each other down. A silence came over them. If anyone of them makes a move, this will end up a battle to the death.

The two Mana Fighters were both early stages and were frightened if a battle broke out. The opposing force had the advantage with the three Core Builders.

The winged human looked at Hiro and sent a mana message to him. "If we fight as we are, we will lose."

Hiro gave a slight nod. These four had higher levels than them.

The winged human knew he would need to stall until the second ship got there. That airship had six Core Builders and several Mana Fighters. Once they got here, they would easily have the advantage.

The Avatar took this chance to move. Activating his light mana, a bright flash spread outward. Shui couldn't respond in time, and everyone was blinded.

The winged human flew towards Leo, Goblin, and Mouse. Leo erected an earth dome to cover them all. He was all too familiar with blinding the enemy and attacking right away.

The winged human was surprised to see an earth barrier created so quickly. He swung his sword out and cut the wall like butter.

"Where did they go?" All four of them disappeared under the earth dome. All of sudden several earth spikes shot out of the ground. Their speed was increased exponentially by jets of winds. The Angel Corps member flew back to retreat.

"This early Core Builder named Leo is a tricky one." The Angel Corps member said to himself. All of a sudden, a man coated in lightning dashed pashed the winged human.

Seeing Hiro execute his movement technique at them, Leo said, "let me handle him. Shui, can you handle the winged human, please?" Shui nodded and then Leo looked at Goblin and Mouse. "You know what to do."

Leo burst up from underneath the ground and sprinted away from the ship. He knew Hiro was mad enough that he would ignore the others and chase after him.

Hiro spotted him and ran after in pursuit. "Leo, come back here."

"Hiro don't break away..." The winged human sighed. Now they were definitely at a disadvantage. The female golem landed in front of the winged angel.

"You are going to pay for hurting my juniors." Several winds started to pick up and swirl around rock-woman.

"You two..." The Angel Corps member looked to his left and didn't see the two Mana Fighters in sight. "They have already been attacked...I hope for your sake you have not harmed those men."

The two Avatar warriors knew that this situation was way beyond talking now.
