Chapter 68 - Deicide (1)

"Yes, I think the word android fits better. I'm what you would call an artifact coming to life. My entire race consists solely of androids." Master Zero paused and then said, "first, let me attach these arms. During the operation, we can talk."

"No, I will say it now. I don't wish to get close to you two. I will work for you to repay the arms and until you can heal me. Is that a fair deal?"

"Wait a second there human. Don't speak..."

"Jira. Silence." Master Zero looked at Leo and was curious that this humanoid was acting more like an android than a person. "An equal exchange is my people's philosophy," Zero thought.

"That sounds like a deal to me. Please lie down on the table." Leo wasted no more time and laid down. Master Zero started to attach Leo arms to his stubs. Leo flinched but dealt with the pain.

Jira stood in the background confused. This human puzzled him. What had this man gone through to become so detached?

"Human, do you not have any other questions?" Master Zero was curious he asked him nothing after agreeing to the deal.

"Sure. Why did you come to my planet?"

Master Zero kept working on Leo's new arms and then began to say, "I came into this existence curious about life. I am the only android that chose to study life mana. I am what you would call a researcher." Master Zero finished Leo's left arm and moved onto his right.

"I have traveled for over two thousand years moving between planets. I enjoy learning how beast and humanoids live their life. About 800 years ago, mana disappeared from this universe. As soon as mana left the body, it would vanish. Most races such as the draconians had to build barriers to block mana from vanishing. Almost 200 years ago a powerful god returned to our universe and erected a barrier in your cluster of planets."

This entire story blew Leo away. Mana disappeared and reappeared. Is that why humans lost the ability to cultivate? Is that why no one entered Brahma's palace for an extended period of time? Many questions started coming to Leo. All of this talk completely distracted Leo from realizing, Master Zero was done with both arms. Leo was scratching his head at that moment.

"This being the largest area with mana, I decided to fly here in my spaceship and observe a planet and its life re-adapting to mana. It is so fascinating."

Master Zero then went into an hourlong explanation of the things he had seen on earth. When he started talking about plants breathing mana and how each speck of life produces mana, Leo understanding of the world was expanded.

Jira sat in the back and just smiled with his sharp teeth. Hearing his Master explain everything made him a proud disciple. Even the human in front of him acknowledged the wisdom his master had.

This macrobian machine told Leo about anything he asked. He even gave Leo information on the factions around the earth. Surprising, it seemed Zero arrived before the draconians did.

He even explained how this guardian of earth came to ask him why he was here. Zero told the man for research. After that, the man flew into the sky with wings on his feet.

Zero then started explaining what each race did when they arrived. The draconians were lead by a mighty peak Construct Evolution. He actually killed the guardian of the planet when he came. For some reason, when Zero was retelling this story, Leo felt like it was important.

"The day Charir-Dar arrived the guardian flew into the sky to stop them. He asked them why they appeared on earth. The king of the draconians gave him one answer. That was to conquer this world."

Zero paused for a second. Leo looked at him and asked, "how do you know all of this?"

Without a second pause, he said, "I flew up in my ship to record the event. Anyways the two of them battled for mere seconds, but many attacks were launched upon each other. Finally, the draconian had enough and used all of the cannons on his spaceship to attack the guardian."

At this point, Jira moved in closer to hear the story. Even he never understood how his old king defeated the guardian.

"The guardian erected a barrier out of mana, but it wasn't enough. The blast pummeled him until they broke through. Brandishing his spear, Charir-Dar flew at the man like a comet of fire. The weapon clashed against the guardian's weapon. The polearm was deflected but cut off the guardian's leg."

Leo knew the pain of losing one's limbs. Even Jira twitched a bit upon hearing that moment.

"Charir-Dar followed up with a flaming claw strike through the guardian's heart. The mana and body of the guardian were stronger than the draconians. It seemed like he wounded himself or something. Whatever it was it caused a peak Construct Evolution to drop to mid Construct Evolution while fighting."

Leo looked at Jira and vice versa. They both wondered why someone would injure themselves.

Seeing the boys ponder on the injury, Zero gave them his theory. "I think the guardian ascended and he injured himself to return. I have no evidence to back this up it is just the conclusion I deduced. Anyways the rest of the fight went like so..."

With his claw still in the man, he asked, "what is your name warrior?"

The man smiled and said, "they call me Hermes. Your little brother is a better warrior than you will ever be."

Charir-Dar ripped out his claw, and the fallen god fell from the sky. Hermes mumbled under his breath, "Zeus, I did my best..."

Hermes fell spraying blood, as the man covered in red scales watched him fall. Charir-Dar licked his spear. "The blood of a fallen god." Concluding the only way this man knew his brother would be he had to have ascended.

Hermes' body splashed into the cold water of the Atlantic. His corpse sank deeper and deeper.

"Hermes you should have known better. I have lived many years longer than you. My bloodline is the royal bloodline of Adam. I am Adam 721's 1st son. This world will be mine now."

"Little did Charir-Dar know, just days later three other civilizations arrived to claim this planet too."
