Chapter 49 - Lucifer's Spear

Lucy was teleported away on the brink of crying. When she landed on the ground, she was surrounded by artifacts. This room was the treasure pavilion.

Lankani welcomed her. "Hello, child. Don't cry that boy will be taken care of dearly. Since you passed all the trials in the Palace, you may choose an artifact from this treasury." Lankani had a bright smile. He was genuinely proud of Lucy and Aarav. They earned this reward.

Lucy shook her head to focus on the task at hand. She decided to peruse what was in here. She saw many scimitars, shields, arrows, staffs, armors, and even a miniature boat.

Tons of other arbitrary objects were lying around too.

"Girl, take your time and decide very carefully."

Lucy walked around the pavilion again to choose carefully. Something that felt like a tickle urged her toward a table in the back.

On the table was a pitch-black spear. Its spear tip was made of some blackish-grey metal. The bottom of the shaft had a red core from some beast.

Lucy reached out. When Lucy's middle finger barely brushed against it, Lucy fell into a flashback.

In the flashback, she saw her great ancestor, Lucifer Morning-Star, battling many warriors from Hindu Clan. The long blonde hair woman was clad in black armor and equipped with the black spear.

She was facing off against a legion of warriors lead by Shiva the God of Destruction. Lucifer slew hundreds of warriors. When most of his men were killed, the four-arm god stepped forward.

"Shiva your greed and hunger for power shall end today. You killed Hahisha disguised as Durga and took Durga as your concubine. You imprisoned my friend. Die you demon."

Shiva and Lucifer fought for an entire day. Right before their final clash, Brahma showed up to stop the battle.

"You two have no reason to cause any more bloodshed," Brahma pleaded.

Lucifer respected Brahma and lowered her spear. Seeing his opportunity, Shiva lunged past Brahma and dealt a lethal blow to Lucifer. Brahma activated a barrier blasting Shiva back.

"Old man. You are too soft. That is why I will rule our clan." Shiva disappeared before Brahma could lock him in place. He floated over to the girl on the ground.

"I know they trusted you," Lucifer said referring to Durga and Mahisha. "Please give this spear to my descendants if they ever come looking for me."

Lucy fell to the floor. This memory was by far the longest she ever experienced. It was almost too clear.

Lankani watched the whole thing transpire. He walked over and said, "it looks like you made your choice." He knew after that reaction with the spear; she must be a descendant of the Death God Lucifer Morning-Star. He helped her up.

Lucy was a little reluctant to grab the spear, but she eventually reached out and grabbed it. The artifact almost resonated with her every being while holding it.

"Alright little one, it is time for me to send you on your way."

"Thank you, Guardian." Lucy bowed and was teleported out of the palace.

In the real world, she arrived about a kilometer from the palace. A war was raging between the mermanians and draconians over the castle.

Seeing Lucy arrive, Aarav smiled and said, "glad to see you finally made it." He looked at her spear and felt its power from where he was standing. "Nice spear. I chose this trishula." Aarav held it up for Lucy to see.

The trident was golden and silver. Lucy could feel the water laws contained within it. She nodded as she thought the two of them made a good pair.

"Aarav, what are we going to do to get out of this?"

"I don't know..."
