Chapter 23 - Eletha pt.1

~Removed appendix 1

A lone hooded person was sitting in a dark empty room, a room which even the howl of the harsh winds of the northern mountains could not be heard.

This person is the communicator, and to do his job he neads silence and uninterruption.

The pedestal infront of him suddenly glows, he immediately chants a spell to recieve the message in form of a voice in his head.

"Greetings enclave-"

"If you are here to ask for our mages the answer is no." The communicator cuts the Valecan communicator off.

"If you prefer to be that rude then I suppose you would want this to be worded out bluntly." The Valecan breathed in before speaking again. "The sphere that one of your mage has surveyed months ago has been spewing out hellspawns and we need help."

The communicator think about this for a moment, the rank of communicator doesnt only mean they are used to communicate, they are also expected to negotiate and speak on behalf of their loyalties.

"We have heard rumors yes, but nothing concrete till now."

"It's because the High-King has been putting on a tight lid about tho whole situation... I have gained clearance to say this but they have already destroyed three Holy armies and an Elite avangelical army in a span of a week."

"It's true then? The power of these 'demons'?" The enclave communicator asked.

"We are not yet sure about what they are, but their actions speak for themselves, they have slaughtered an entire village."

The communicator's hands balled into a fist, innocents have never been a target for the enclave and doing so is a great disgrace. So he was angered about what he just heared.

But he has to keep calm.

"You say that as if you loathe them for it when you have done the same countless times before we threatened to cut off communication with you." He shot back.

"This is no time to argue, we need your enclave's help and we shall grant you free research rights on any of their weapons... and besides, those barbarians deserved it anywa-."

"Enough! I will not here any more today. I will talk to my leader, expect and answer soon." The communicator cut the connection after his sentence.

Later, one of the aides of the communicator was making her way to the Enclave Master's office, she opened the door and immediately bowed down.

"Enclave Master, our communicator bears news from the Valecan Empire." The young woman said in a soft, but serious voice.

The Enclave Master, whos name was Bran Altard, seems to be more of a talker and told her to stand up.

"Eletha dear, how good to see you." The head master joyly replied.

The girl nodded her head. "You too Enclave Master."

"Ah, but now thats not what you're here for is it? If the communicator deems a matter from the Valecans to be important enought to come to me I must have it immediately."

The woman produced a scroll from her back and handed to to the Enclave Master who read it twice over.

"I see... this seems to be critical in the world's security. I will send a team to scout out the situation if you could relay the message to the Head Battlemage please Eletha?"

The woman nodded and turned around, but not soom after she turned back and asked.

"Enclave Master..."

"Yes Eletha dear?"

"C-can I come with the team too? I want to see the world beyond the mountain."

Eletha was a young girl that was brought in by the Enclave Leader when he was still a  battlemage. She was an orphan of the Uma-Visil war to the west when the battle mage found her in a burned-out village... that was subjected to the Uma scorched earth tactics.

He immediately took pity on her and reassured her and to his surprise, when he touched the girl to reassure her he felt a magical potential from the girl.

He then reported this to his sergeant who took note of the report but dismissed his request to take the girl in on the grounds of "Taking a citizen of another country in forbidden." But the enclave master wouldn't budge and argued with the sergeant till he said that "I'll pull some strings" and dismissed him.

That was how he got Eletha under his wing and seeing the destruction that the war brought to her he vowed that he would change things for the world and worked hard towards his posistion now which was given to him by the former Enclave Master.

Under the years of his guidance the Enclave slowly shifted into isolationism, and only interfering in warfare when innocent lives are in danger.

Such as this new report from the Valecan Empire.

"Eletha dear, don't you want to stay here anymore?" The Enclave Master asked.

"It's not that Enclave Master, but I want to see the world! And learn more things than what is written in tomes and books!"

The Enclave master sighed, knowing this time would come. He stood up and walked to Eletha and gave her a hug.

"Alright my dear alright, I knew this time would come someday I just wish it never would so you wouldn't have to see what I saw about the world. But I understand."

Eletha smiled at the Enclave Master and kisses his forhead.

"Hahaha, now I feel old." The Enclave master laughed and wiped a tear from his eye.

"Time flys fast doesn't it Enclave Master?"

"Yes, it's almost like yesterday I saw you looking at me with your hazel eyes and I felt that you do not deserve the way your life was."

Eletha smiled wider. "Thank you so much for taking care of me Enclave master, I owe everything to you."

They hugged once more

"Bring your friends with you, I will be sending two teams to investigate."

Eletha nodded and started to walk out of the office.

"Take care out there Eletha!" The head master shouted after her.

"I will!" Was her reply.

She walked the hallways to where the Head Battlemage was but not before bumbing in to someone unpleasant.

"Well hello there." A voice dripping with disdain came from the person she bumped on.
