"Hi John!" yelled Bo. He ran up to the carriage and hopped on. Pika held Mittie's hand as they followed behind. A crowd of orphans and Sister Maria waved goodbye.
"Where are we going John?" asked Bo as the carriage took off.
"We're headed to the capital where I'm gonna start my shop. You three will be shop assistants along with Mr. and Mrs. Jones," replied Wu Fa as he nodded towards the old kitchen couple.
"My! What wonderful children!" exclaimed Mrs. Jones. "It's too bad we don't have any of our own!"
"Shop assistants? What do we do? Are you gonna train us in magic John?" pushed Bo.
"Sure, if you do a good job I'll consider it," smiled Wu Fa.
"I'll do a good job!" yelled Bo.
"Okay, then I'll pass my Unbeatable Fire Moves to you," said Wu Fa. "But you have to be absolutely loyal to me."
"I'll be absolutely loyal to you!" yelled Bo.
"And you can never tell anyone else about my moves. EVER. Or I'll beat you up," continued Wu Fa.
"I'll never tell anyone about my moves! EVER!"
Sharon and the Jones couple chuckled. They thought Wu Fa was joking with the kid, but then Wu Fa turned to Sharon and asked "Hey Sharon, is there some way to make sure this kid doesn't blabber stuff if I give him some secret technique?"
Sharon was caught off guard by the question. "Um, yes, you could make him sign a Death Contract?"
"Death Contract? What's that? That sounds way to dangerous for a kiddo like him. Anything else?" asked Wu Fa.
"Errrr, a normal Binding Contract will work too. Theoretically, however, Grade 10 and above Mages can remove Binding Contracts, so Death Contracts are the safest way to go," replied Sharon.
"Hold on! What's with all this contract stuff? I don't get anything your talking about!" said Wu Fa.
"A Binding Contract places a spell on a person to prevent them from saying something or doing a certain action. A Death Contract is a special Binding Contract that kills the signer of the contract if it is removed," explained Sharon.
"No way I'm making these kids sign a Death Contract. A normal Binding Contract that prevents them from leaking my top secret arts are more than enough!" said Wu Fa.
Sharon handed Wu Fa a stack of papers. "In that case, here are 10 papers for signing Binding Contracts. Write your stated terms and conditions here, sign your name, spit some of your saliva here, and have the other person spit and sign here." Inwardly she was wondering what "top secret techniques" Wu Fa had that would make him so serious. From what she remembered, the young master had never trained in anything magic related.
"Woah, ten? Is this stuff expensive?" asked Wu Fa.
"Nope, you can get them at any 11-7 convenience store," replied Sharon.
"Alright then. Hey Bo! You're in luck! You too, Pika and Mittie! Come sign this contract written here by big brother John! I'll give you some top secret techniques once we make it to the capital! In exchange, you gotta be loyal to me for the next ten years!" declared Wu Fa.
"Okay!" yelled Bo. "Teach me as soon as we arrive at capital!" Pika also signed the contract while helping Mittie sign his.
"Kids these days," thought Sharon while shaking her head.
