Chapter 1 - Arrival

Tiresome… Annoying…. Boring… Lethargic… In some life i would be considered a Nara. But, no. I'm your normal dude, except, I'm not. I thought i were, for a time. I thought it was normal to pretend you care, pretend life had some kind of meaning. That everyone did it, for some strange reason. Growing up i noticed that it weren't the case, people all around me had actual… fun. I envied them, hated them, happy that i weren't like them and wished to be them all the same. I were.. Different. Not that anyone noticed, even I didn't notice before it was too late.

Flashback

'Darian, what are you doing?'

A black haired boy, around 15 years old, looked up from his tablet. His customary dull, but confident stare fixed itself upon the speaking voice. There seemed to be some kind of life present in his eyes, life which nobody had noticed were lacking before that moment.

'Oh…' He said, collecting his thoughts before smiling 'I found this video on the internet, come, watch'

The first spokesman, the customary popular guy came up behind him to see what had caught Darian's attention. He were attracted to Darian, not because of his popularity or particularly fun personality to be around, but rather because he seemed to treat everyone the same, him included. Like… he had no desires. His name was Blake.

Gazing upon the shining tablet of godly powers so common in today's society, blake wrinkled his nose and said 'That's disgusting, why are you watching that?'

Darian, thinking it was all an act didn't bother to change his facial expression much.

Still smiling in glee he said 'I know, right? Hahah!'

Blake seemed to realise something and looked at Darian in a new light, some fear rightfully placed itself in his heart and his smile didn't quite reach his eyes. 'I wonder how it would feel to be there, in person, I mean'

Darian, not noticing the unusual situation, kept staring entranced at the video, replying.

'Probably kind of cool, I mean, it would be something new at least' Seemingly realising what he had said, Darian raised his eyebrows in surprise before smiling sincerely, thought the sincere expression appeared sickly in Blakes eyes now, indicated by his strange expression. 'Though, if I were actually there I would never let this happen!' Darian stretched his body on the couch before standing up, slinging his tablet on the couch in the same motion. 'Suit yourself' He said lazily before going to the bathroom.

Blake only looked at the tablet once more, where a women were hung on a hook while being dissected alive by a couple of men who were obviously very aroused. He looked at where Darian headed before leaving without saying a word.

The next couple of weeks he would ignore and generally keep away from Darian as best possible.

Flashback end.

Not too late? It weren't much of a dramatic tale. But rumours went around the school and Darian had to build up his reputation from scratch again. It could have gone much worse, but Darian learned that people weren't actually smiling monsters of false sincerity, but actually had feelings for others besides as a form of entertainment. That were also when he began to feel.. Distanced from his peers. He had always felt a gap, like he couldn't quite connect. But, now he felt alone, so incredibly lonely. Not that it mattered much, it was just another part of living, he thought. Suicide never even went through his head. So when he died at an age of 25 after an overdose of something the other, it weren't because he was suicidal! He were simply bored with life and drugs made it fun fun. No matter, his family grieved and his closest lamented his drug use, they could have done 'more' to help him. Not that he cared, his family weren't even on his mind when he woke up again in a completely new body.

'Where am I?' He asked noone in particular as he opened his eyes to the bright sun and twittering birds. There were trees as far as his eyes could see, alone, in a large forest without any kind of survival skills. His expression didn't even change as his mind understood these facts, but instead begun thinking of something much more important 'Why isn't it snowing?'

Yes indeed! When he'd left his former world, not that he knew this yet, it had been snowing. Snowing because it were winter. But here? Here the sun tried to intimidate him with it's glaring rays, it's warmer than he ever experienced before. Turning his head around he found no civilization and decided to take to the trees. Taking a glance around he found a low hanging branch then ran, put one foot on the trunk of the tree before jumping upward towards the branch. He easily caught it and swung himself over with one fluid motion.

'Wow, that was easy. I haven't felt this light since i were a kid. Blaming the pizzas!'

Continuing upwards he eventually reached the top, only to be stumped as this tree weren't the largest in the forest, therefore making his effort moot. Cursing to himself for being so short sighted he tried to look around for a taller tree only to see that it would be impossible to reach the top as the branched were all to thin.

'If I fall here I'm definitely dead' He might be fearless, but he weren't stupid. Putting the idea at the backburner he decided to find something to drink before anything else. Walking among the leaves at the forest floor he ruminates his head for knowledge on surviving. Finding almost none. But he were human, he can adapt, If an rodent can survive in the wild he can as well. Fun facts! A human would be dead within 3-4 days without water! Ok, maybe not fun. But definitely useful. Now, if he could remember if it were running or stale water which were dangerous to drink. He's rooting for stale being the deadly one.

Initially motivated he became less so as the sun disappeared, leaving the forest dreary and dark. It were just before complete darkness that he found something, it weren't what he expected, but possible anyways. He stilled and watched the rabbit scour the forest floor for food. Sitting down and catching his breath the brought up all knowledge he had and considered his current situation. He found a rock by his side, tested it's weight and kept it along with a few other similar rocks. Looking at the sky he knew he couldn't take advantage of humanity's greatest strength - Endurance, but that would be impossible as the rabbit would probably run to a hole and dig underground. Do rabbits actually do that? He considered his options for a while and decided on a small but easy plan to follow.

Throw rocks at rabbit, hope he kills on first try, or seconds, or third. He counted his rocks again. Or tenth try!

Run after rabbit until it get dark to find it's cave, if he can't kill it today he can tomorrow!

Give up before it gets too dark so he can find a tree to sleep in, sleeping on the forest is like asking to be killed. Or is it? What if i fall down?

Darian begun questioning himself, but stopped. 'I don't have much time. If it don't work out I'll just sleep on the forest floor' he said with a wrinkled nose. Clearly displeased with the revelation. 'Wish I had a bed, trees are probably so uncomfortable. My back will be ruined!' He almost felt like crying for the first time since he were a kid. Giving up the comforts of modern life proved harder than he ever imagined. He smiled bitterly, ingrained in him from a young age and sharpened his gaze upon the rabbit.

He stood up and stretched his arm for a bit before focusing intensely, angling his shot downward to get maximum power before throwing as hard as he could. Immediately pulling out another rock he threw before the rabbit even got to move after the first rock. Rushing forward he pulls another rock before slowing down to a walk in front of the twitching rabbit.

Looking at the rabbit with a bored gaze Darian comments to himself 'Well, that was anticlimactic'. He immediately break the rabbits neck and takes off all his upper clothes, ties his shirt around his head to get his hair out of the way and tries to decide how to eat the rabbit. Looking around himself Darian tries to decide if he could make a fire. 'It doesn't matter, i wouldn't dare to make one anyways.' Why not? Yeah! Why not? He could make smoke signals and stuff to signal need for help or something. Deciding to do that tomorrow after punching himself in the face a couple of times he once again contemplates if he should eat the rabbit or wait in case he find someone tomorrow. 'Even if I find someone I'm still homeless. This isn't my country, I have no identification, bank cards, phones. It's like someone dumped me out here to die. Is there a charge for that? To just dump someone to die in a forest almost deserted of life? It's pure luck to find this rabbit, i need to savour every opportunity I have'

No! I might catch some kind of disease if I eat this rabbit raw, if i get a disease now I'm definitely, no doubt about it, dead. Darian finding the life in the wilds more deadly for every second he lives there stare in horror at the already dead rabbit which could potentially be his death. 'Not only that, what if i freeze to death tonight?' I quickly look around me and find a broken branch. How, how how am I supposed to make a fire? Making a mental list he decides.

Friction

Dry wood, exceptionally dry wood

Dry leaves, twigs, grass etc. Grass? Maybe bark, or those hairy things on trees.

Looking up at the sky he sees no sun and feel the darkness descending, panicking he takes the dead rabbit by the neck, put his clothes back on and begin running to find a clearing. Falling and scraping his knee he wakes up from the rush of adrenaline, but continue rushing to find a clearing while laughing at himself and the situation.

Finding some space he takes out the large stick he stumbled upon on the way here, breaking it in two he feels inside and determine it to be dry as his mouth. Along with some twigs and a stick for friction.

He shaves off the stick with a large rock before it somewhat flat, then does the same on the other side. Seeing the sky becoming dark he rushes around to gather firewood.

Making some kind of gradually larger pile of branches he keeps some dry twist and similar in a large pile alone to set fire to first. Breathing out slowly, he turns to the primitive.. He decided to name it a 'fireboard' before making a hole with rock, sticking a slightly thicker twig in the hole and begin twirling, and twirling he did, all the way until it become dark, feeling rather warm in the tropical weather and not at all cold like he expected he decided to go to sleep and try again tomorrow. Sleep came faster than ever before.

The next morning he woke up to birds singing, he couldn't see the sun in the sky, but it wall still bright and clear. Deciding to try again he looked around for the twig before seeing the rabbit gone. His mouth open in a silent 'O' before twisting in a definitely ugly expression radiating anger of untold magnitude. His eyes turn into slits scanning the clearing before calming. 'Darned fucking god damned bitched' Swearing consistently under his breath he puts his hands on the floor to stand up only to immediately remove them feeling the pulsing heat of pain, pain never felt before.

Darian had done many things. He'd been hit. He'd gotten burned. He'd gotten scratched, in fact, he got a scrape yesterday falling. But he'd never ever felt the pain like this. Holding his shaking hands up he looked upon blistered, red, mess of cuts and pain. Swallowing the lump in his throat he imagines what kind of repercussions this will have and grits his teeth in realisation that the next few days will be his most painful, maybe last days of his life.

'Way to damned go, Darian. No food, no fire, no hands and no damned water!!!'

Feeling the anger once again he calmed down before standing up and continuing walking, listening attentively for water as he walked a lonely path once again.

A few hours later of pain and new blisters, this time on his feet, Darian heard the sound of a waterfall. 'YES' He smiled genuinely, brightly and happily running towards the sound of splashing, heavy, delicious water. Arriving at a clearing his eyes widened as he witness two statues standing on the opposing sides of a large mass of water flowing down an humongous cliff. The statues were enormous, being easily the largest he'd ever seen. Standing at the beginning of this clearing, watching the lake stretch out in front of him he immediately rushed out into the water to drink, and drink he did. Jumping into the water when he felt it deep enough he swam out and went down under. Taking massive gulps of water while diving his eyes crinkled into crescents looking at the fishes swimming in the water. Smiling while drinking to his fullest he rushed up to the surface to laugh out loud once again, to think, in a short 24 hours he'd laughed more than he'd ever done in his whole life before. Floating on his back in the water he can't help but think that living like this… isn't so bad.

Then he remembers the blisters and general discomforts and sighs in annoyance, well.. It was an experience, and although he'd experienced more emotional turmoil in these short hours than ever before he still couldn't give up the comforts of modern life to this.. Life of pain and suffering.

Smiling slightly he looked up into the sky and thought back to those huge statues. They seemed somewhat similar to something he'd seen before… Human architecture, at least he knows he's now all too far from civilization. But, you'd think this would be a famous tourist spot, or he'd at least heard of it before. Then again, he lamented, it's not like he was particularly interested in statues.

Swimming back to the shore he took off his soaked shoes and left them on a warm rock somewhere the sun would shine. Nodding to himself he set his sight on top of the large monument. 'From up there i'll better be able to see where I am' he thought to himself resolutely before taking off the rest of his clothes besides the pants and washed them in the lake before similarly throwing them over a couple of stones. Nodding to himself resolutely he ran out into the lake once again before diving into the water, slowly swimming towards the cliffside he remembers his blistered hands and decides to find some other way besides climbing to get up. Going back to the shore he takes the long way around and after much time and annoyance makes it to the top. Coming up from behind Madara's head he sits down on the cliffside before taking in the sight of endless forests before him. He marvels at nature being as beautiful as it is before looking for civilization. Although a village 'Hidden' in the leaves, the leaf village of Konohagakure were not exactly hidden in any way or form from the world as it were simply too large. In the beginning it might have been somewhat hard to spot in the sea of trees, but now? It was HUGE. And while it were a rare sight to see a city so .. cramped in between trees, it weren't particularly hard to find at all. Smiling 'innocently' he looks down and consider jumping before smacking himself and muttering 'Darned adrenaline junkie' under his breath. Sometimes his own ideas get kind of crazy and not at all rational so he have to smack himself to get those screws back into their loose holes.

Disclaimer: Maybe it's because his mother were a *** Whoops, I'm not supposed to say that, show respect for your elders and all that. Darien Smiles at the camera and points his thumbs up. Alright, enough of that, let's move on.

Getting back to his clothes he finds them reasonably dry and put the back on, except for those shoes though, they're still wet, so he slings them over the shoulder too impatient to wait and begin walking towards the direction he saw the village. After a few hundred meters of pain and suffering he walks back towards the lake and soak his feet in it before putting his socks on and stuffing his sore feet in the wet annoyance called shoes. 'Seriously, how could human feet be so darned bad? It's like we're not supposed to be able to walk, like, what the fuck?' Darned thinks to himself, disgusted, before walking towards the city he saw earlier. Once in a while he will mark a tree to know the way back in case he gets lost, though, it were unnecessary as he found a road leading toward where he was going after a while 'Alright, mission accomplished' he thought to himself happily before walking with a spring in his steps. Smiling happily thinking about all the food in the city.

A few hours later our he-- Cough cough, MC have arrived before the gates of Konoha.
