A year after coming to this world Solia discovered various things:
One, although this world has magic, the lifestyle of the people is primitive- men fight and hunt while women do the household affairs.
Two, her family and the clan live in the mountains just below the peak.
Three, besides the fact that all people here are beautiful, they are expected to live 3000-5000 years if no accidents occur. In exchange for this near immortality, population are low due to women having difficulties to get pregnant; it is said that women are generally expected to be pregnant after 500 years of marriage and has low chance of giving birth to second child after 1000 years after their first born.
Though she still haven't ascertained what exactly their race or 'species' was considering topic like this are seldom gossiped among the servants where her main source of information was gathered— but one thing is for sure, they are not human and they live for a long long time.
She wondered how it feels. Can a person finally fulfill their entire wish in those years or does one still this thousand years of life is still unsatisfactory for their greed or curiosity? Solia bet she would soon find out.
And lastly, she discovered that her usually foolish and doting father (only towards Solia, but she didn't know this and thought this is her father's persona) is the administrator of the whole mountain from bottom to top and is also known as the Lord of the Peak— the highest and noblest position in the mountain, just below the Priestess.
In modern terms, the prime minister or the president of a country but of course, minus the Priestess.
Lord of the Peak, the strongest warrior of the mountain and should also possess intellect-above the majority- to administer and manage the whole mountain, should be compassionate to his people but not lenient, as to avoid some people breaking the law.
Just below the Lord of the Peak are the 12 Highlords. Each 12 have their own expertise and skill to assist the Lord of the Peak in his governing.
And above all them is the Priestess. The only person with the right to live at the Peak of the mountain and guard the 'Aiv e Muli'— a colossal sized tree where it's branches extend to the whole mountain and the surrounding forest around it, leaves that glow silver with each of them has a natural engraved gold magical runes and gigantic trunk that a thousand people are still inadequate to encircle the whole trunk.
These are just some fervent rumors and myths about the colossal tree or the Aiv e Muli considering that no one actually has seen it, except for the Priestess. This law has been established since the ancient.
"The Aiv e Muli everlasting and unsullied, it's a profane act if we ever stay our sight on it or even a peek. Only the priestess has the rights. This is known."
"And it's not like we can get past the peak"
"That's true."
But Solia wondered if what she heard is the truth then why can't she see any sightings of this 'colossal' tree? If it's as massive as they say, the trees' shadow should cover the whole mountain or she should be able to see the shape of the tree the moment she looked in the peak but alas— any edges or outlines of the tree are nowhere to be seen.
She planned to ask this question once it is acceptable for her to ask such kind of intelligent-for-a-child question.
"The priestess is now out of seclusion!"
Such news has been circulating for almost a week and has no hint of dying.
A hundred years in seclusion. Solia wondered how it feels like.
Just the thought of that frightened her, having spent most of life in the hospital, all she in this life is freedom and no seclusion in mind.
"The Markings will be held when the 'Suisa' appears."
An announcement from the Priestess just right after she came out of her seclusion is now the hot topic for everyone in the mountain! Excitement spread everywhere that she thought she can even feel the excitement from those Magic particles.
Magic Particles and emotion? Solia thought it's ridiculous.
The cause of this excitement is because : One, the Priestess is out and a low likelihood that they would finally see her- she heard rumors that even when the Priestess is not in seclusion, almost no one can see her because she rarely leaves the peak- Two, the 'Suisa' and Three, the Markings.
Markings, a tradition where babies under 1oo years old would be 'mark'. It's similar the way babies are baptize in churches but here, instead of sprinkling the baby in holy water, people would be given a tattoo.
An identity, they said.
The Markings are to be held by the Priestess and unlike other events, Markings has no fix date except it should be when the Suisa appears.
While 'Suisa' or commonly known as Blood Moon only happens every decade.
'The heavens wept in blood
Realm awash in crimson
Fiends lay in dormant
And so the world is cleaned.'
Such events is not to be missed, the world would be dazzling the said.
Even though Sun can rarely go outside and know the happenings outside, major events like this are within her reach. Maybe it's because of the strict protocol to servants that makes their lip loose when they are around a baby with no understanding of what they are saying.
And they have no qualms about being heard of an idiot baby.
The genius and the idiot.
That's also one of the topics of the servants.
There is a baby girl 2 years older than Solia- named Flora- that is proclaimed genius. She speaks as early as 6-month old when Sun was having 'difficulties' saying mama or papa.
Solia heard that at 1 she already talks like an adult.
'A trans migrator too, perhaps?' She thought idly but shook at the thought. She have to observe first before concluding.
"A strong priestess candidate" gossiped loudly by majority of the servants pertaining to the genius baby.
"No, it can be said that she is already our future priestess"
"Shhh. Not so loud! What if the madam hears you?"
"What? What I said is nothing but the truth. Or do you think that our miss has the chance of becoming the priestess? It's already good that she's not entirely… retarded"
Sun can heard the synchronize defeated sigh of the other 2 servants. Comparison like this between the genius and the idiot are mostly the hot topic of the servants.
Except the fact that the baby is genius, she is also of a noble blood- having a father as one of the Highlord, or so Sun heard.
But she can't blame the servants for thinking that way. After having her heard say mama, papa, and wind; she barely speaks now. As much as possible she avoided speaking as she cannot tell which would give her out that she isn't a people of this world or her knowledge is too much of her age.
Such accusation frightens her so much now that she is in the world of magic, in a world she didn't understand their means of knowing; so she instead chose to be an 'idiot' if it means keeping her safe.
"What's this ruckus about?" A voice with authority was heard and there comes an ever beautiful figure with her long white hair.
The servants hastily bowed and left the room afraid that the madam heard whatever they were talking about.
"Silly…"
"Now, time to get my little princess to prepare." The beautiful woman picked her up, kissed her cheek and cuddles with her.
This is also one of the reasons why Sun dared to pretend an idiot. She's feeling guilty for disappointing them but she feels that no matter what she become, her family would always love and be proud of her, just like now.
These affection that she didn't receive in her last life, is what she treasures now.
Thank the One True God. She praise to whomever God that gave her this family.
