It was the age where people should have awakened their 'Genes'.
A hundred years ago, a comet landed in the Pacific Ocean. A storm had brewed on that day.
People suddenly flew in the sky, and houses were destroyed by fists. Some can even caused calamities like earthquakes and tornadoes.
These people are called Supreme.
The cause of the birth of these Supreme was directed at the comet's landing, but no scientific explanations could be given. The birth of Cults and Organizations alike have been imminent, and the government was replaced by these new entities.
After the first batch of Awakened, no other newborn had awakened their genes. Not until most turned 18.
It was confirmed that when a person was 18, that person should awaken their genes.
30 out of a hundred people could awaken their genes. The unlucky ones would forever be unable to catch up with society and be treated as outcasts. Unless, they had a family member or relative that is a Supreme and can help them.
It was chaos for the first 50 years, but later everything changed because animals suddenly awakened and devastated the lands. A newly awakened animal can kill a Supreme who has trained to for several decades. These animals were now called Calamities.
To fight off the Calamities, the Supremes decided to unite and fend off these beasts.
50 years later, and in the present, the cities are covered in energy domes that protect them from Calamities. Buildings are reinforced, new weapons have been developed, and a new type of government that was lead by Supremes have controlled the situation around the globe.

I have lived in this city for as long as I can remember. The people, the streets, the buildings, nothing has changed.
My parents were both Supremes, they weren't the strongest, but they had better than average Supreme's jobs. When I turned 18 and found out that I wasn't one, they were sad but they didn't disown me. They even treated me even more dearly.
They protected me from the people who would mess with me. From everyone.
But there came a time where the City Lord's son, Daniel, who was my classmate in college, went up to me and beat me up until my parents couldn't tell who I was.
When I got back home, I told them what happened. At that time, I didn't even know that the guy was the City Lord's son, not until I received a news from the TV.
News Reporter: Two Supremes, Mr. And Mrs. Palmer, have been executed on the streets outside the City Hall. Officials had reported that the son of the City Lord was assaulted by the two outside the City Hall and were immediately suppressed by the body guards. Furthermore...
I immediately ran out of the house and went to the city hall.
'Please, oh please, let it not be my parents!' I cried to myself while I was running.
But when I arrived, a stinging sensation pierced through my heart. My parent's body lay cold on the pavements.
"Ahhhhhhhh.... AHHHHHHH!" I lay down beside the two of them and cried my heart out. The people who I loved the most were coldly killed by the same people who had mocked and bullied me.
"It's my fault.. my fault... if I hadn't told them about who beat me up, they wouldn't have went out. Mom! Dad! "
People who passed by looked at me like a dog who has lost its owner, pitiful and without hope.
There was no funeral for both my parents because they were now treated as criminals. None of my relatives contacted me or mourned with me the death of my parents.
Even the only friends I had in college never talked to me again after the incident. It was like a straw that had held me broke and everything fell down.

My name is Tyrone Palmer. I am currently 24 years old, and working in a restaurant as a dish washer.
I lived alone in the streets after my parents died.
The house that we had back then was 'retrieved' by the government as compensation for attempting to hurt the City Lord's son.
I stopped going to college since I don't even have money to buy food for myself, so I started working around the area as a dishwasher or a delivery boy.
Revenge? I've had several thoughts, but with me being a normal human being, I can't even lay hand on my parent's killers.
Of course I still bore a grudge, but I can't do a thing for now.
One day when I was about to go to work at a local restaurant, my mouth was suddenly covered and I was pulled towards an alley.
When we were deeper inside the alley, he let go of my mouth and then threw me besides a bunch of trash can.
Boom! Crash!
The trash cans fell down and the contents spilled on me. G*d d*mn that reeks of puke and alcohol.
"Heh! Trash do really belong in the trash!"
That voice was so familiar... It was him!
As I raised my head to look at the one who assaulted, I clenched my fist so hard that the nails dug deep in my palm. I couldn't forget that face that caused the death of my parents:
"Daniel!"
