Chapter 20 | Escape (Victory Part 2)
Jessica's POV:
A beautiful abomination. That is what Young Lady Tomoe had become, her beautiful blue hair grew longer and pricklier, her claws became a lot sharper and her ears became more pointy, much like that of the legendary Great Lynx's. Shackles had formed around her wrists and ankles with chains loosely attached to them.
"DDDIIEEEE!!"
All I could do was hold my hands to my mouth, the young lady that I have helped raised since she was just born had grown up so quickly. She had already awakened her contracted demon despite being so young, her figure was beautiful, but her fighting was a sloppy mess, human remains everywhere. Arms, legs, ears, eyes, guts, gore, all over this ancient forest we used to call home. Lady Satsuki was still laying on the ground, curled over protecting her swollen stomach. It pained me to just watch her lay there so I got out of the carriage and made my way to her side.
"Are you alright my lady?"
"I'm quite fine Jessica, it's not me you should be worried about though. Please go and calm Tomoe down, if she doesn't calm down soon she might to something she'll regret later."
I propped Lady Satsuki against a nearby tree.
"Yes Milady."
I nodded and moved towards Lady Tomoe, she was still in the process of butchering the foolish humans that dared cross her path.
"Lady Tomoe, your mother is fine now! Please calm down and return back to normal!"
The enraged young lady turned to face me, she glanced over my shoulder and must've seen her mother because her facial expression relaxed as she came dashing towards me.
"Jess, they're all gone now."
I was used to having the young lady bury herself in my chest every time she sulked, I guess thats proof that we've become a real family now.
"Yes my lady, you've gotten rid of them all, thank you."
It surprised me when her ears suddenly perked up and began darting around, she lifted her head up focused her gaze deep into the woods. All I could her was the rustling of leaves and the swishing of lady Tomoe's tail.
"TOMOE!! SATSUKI!!"
"PAPA!"
Lady Tomoe leapt our of my arms and flew toward her father, they both braced momentarily before Master Satine picked her up and carried her over to her mother. An old friend was following behind Master Satine, Yuule, we exchanged glances and smiled at each other as she passed.
"Darling it's alright, I'll be fine with a little healing and rest, so will the baby."
Master looked vexed, he must've been unsure in what to do. I offered my assistance to him, which he kindly accepted, and applied healing magic to Lady Satsuki.
"Jessica, Yuule, bring the carriage to us and we'll be off again."
""Yes Master.""

Tomoe's POV
On the road again, we'd been on the road for a good 3 days, the massive forest we once lived in had been completely left behind. Before we left the forest, Papa stayed behind for a bit, I could feel a large amount of mana being used on the entire forest. I assumed that Papa was just getting rid of the bodies, but it was probably something more, something that I wouldn't understand.
"Tomoe dear, it's time to come back inside, we're almost at the border!"
Although the carriage was very large on the inside, it was very boring. So instead of spending the entirety of my time cooped up inside of it, I spent most of my time outside running next to the carriage of riding on the roof of it.
"Coming!"
Guess it'd be weird if the people at the border saw a young girl running wild outside of a carriage.
"Watch out!"
I yelled as I took off from the ground and spun my way through the open window of the carriage. Mama was clapping while relaxing on a chair, whereas Papa came and swooped me off of my feet and into his arms.
"You cheeky rascal, be more careful next time." He said in a playful voice.
"Tomoe, once we get to the border I'm going to need you do close your eyes and plug your ears for me, okay?"
I didn't know what was going on but I held Papa tight and nodded anyways.
"Yes Papa."
"Good Girl."
I sat patiently in the carriage looking out the window for the next ten minutes before we came to a stop. I could just make out a town with a massive stone arch at the entrance, Papa got out of the carriage to greet someone who had just walked up to it. Papa must have put a sound proof barrier around us or something because I couldn't make out a single word they were saying even when I tried my hardest.
"Okay Tomoe, time to close your eyes." Papa said as he stepped back into the carriage.
"Okay!" I smiled at him and nodded as I closed my eyes and held my ears down.
Time went by fairly quickly. I jumped when someone unexpected touch my tail, but it turned out to only be Mama teasing me and telling me to open my eyes again.
"Let's get out of the carriage now Tomoe." She said.
"Are we going into the town now Mama?"
"No darling, we are going somewhere overly grandiose and posh..." Mama spoke almost dejectedly as we made our way out the door.
The flare from the sun had gotten extremely bright all of a sudden, it blinded me as soon as I stepped out, I had to block it from my view with the my hand. When everything came into focus and I could see properly again, my jaw dropped. When Mama said someplace grandiose and posh, I imagined some fancy mansion or something, but what stood before at that point in time made the words "Grandiose" and "Posh" understatements.
"Mama... where are we?"
Mama looked a little embarrassed as she guided me towards the gargantuan marble doors.
"This here is the Palace's grand hall of the Beast Kindoms capital city, Antistas."
The humongous marble doors groaned open, Papa, Mama, Jess, Yuule, and I were all lead into the insanely overly white grand hall.
