Chapter 6 | Unknown Potential |
What was that?! Why does she already have such a good battle sense? It felt like she had already honed and mastered a completely unknown fighting style, I had to improvise to be able to counter those weird movements of hers. It didn't look like a coordinated attack so it caught me completely off guard, the way she naturally closed up all of her openings right as she closed in... and not to mention the power behind that punch. How does a 3 year old already have that much fighting power!?
"Master, dinner is almost ready to eat."
"Th-Thank you, I'll be there soon..."
I can't believe our daughter is this powerful already... It's no where near the point where it would do any damage to me, but it is at least already on the level of a fully grown human adult... Even when I was her age I was only at the level of an almost matured teenager and being that strong was enough to mark me as a candidate for the next maou...
"I guess I should head to dinner, I can't keep my family waiting for me. I'll discuss this with Satsuki later, I don't want to think about it right now..."
I picked myself up and out of my study chair and walked out of the door, closing it behind me slowly, still trying to comprehend who I had just fought and just how powerful they were.
Sitting at the dining table, I looked across at my wife who was tidying up little Tomoe's face because she is still a very sloppy eater. Tomoe shoveled away at her food with a big smile on her face as she dug through her meal.
I turned my attention to the meal I had at hand, what looked like a fresh off the flame, spit roast was making itself comfortable on my plate, it was accompanied by some recently cooked greens and covered in a brown sauce that shouldered a creamy, whitish delicacy.
"Jessica, what is for tonight's meal?"
I called for the head maid, Jessica, who had prepared the exquisite looking meal that laid bare before me. She stepped forward, bowed her head, and began outlining the details of the meal.
"Master, what you have in front of you is a Spit Roasted Pork followed by a side of Brussels Sprouts, Spring Peas that are covered in a new sauce we have invented called 'Gravy', sided with a serving of Creamy Potatoes."
"Hmm... It looks a bit more plain than the meals that we usually have..."
"Well, we are experimenting with all new types of food, seeing what fits your tastes and what doesn't."
"Hmm, Okay. Time to dig in."
Jessica's explanation was good and all, but I'm more interested in eating this food! It smells so good, it's gotten to the point where my mouth is about to start watering if I don't put some of this meal into it. Trust me, no one would want to see something so unsightly, it put all of the good impressions I've made on everyone down.
I stuck my fork into the tender chunk of meat, I lifted my knife and began cutting a piece off of the large chunk of meat. The blade of the knife cut through the crispy skin of the roast and passed through into a soft tissue, a satisfying sensation traveled through the steel knife as it passed through the end and cut off a sizable portion of the crispy meat.
"H-Here goes nothing..."
I lifted the fork carrying the crisp meat and angled it towards the entrance of my mouth, it was as though there was an extremely delicate package on the end of it and it had to be delivered with the utmost care. This is it, I have to go for it. I moved so swiftly that a normal person probably wouldn't have noticed my hand had even moved, the fork was in my mouth with my lips wrapped around it.
"What is this?!?"
The single most delicious piece of meat that I had ever eaten in my life was now making its way into my stomach, its extravagant flavor was sinking into every single one of the taste buds on my tongue, making each and every single one of them explode in delight.
"P-Papa?"
Tomoe looked at me, she wasn't so much frightened but more confused as to why I was yelling.
"S-Sorry Darling~. J-Jessica! This, this is the single most tastiest piece of meat I've ever had in my life!"
"I-I'm glad to hear that master, b-but could you please keep it down, the madame doesn't look to happy."
I hesitantly directed my view to Satsuki, she looked quite angry at me who had a mouth full of t he definition of 'Best meat in the world'.
"Darling, calm down please. I know that it's really good, but you don't need to go so overboard with your reaction... calm down please..."
"S-Sorry..."
I finished chewing on the absolutely perfect piece of spit roast meat.

Tomoe's POV:
It's been three days since I stepped over the line and tried to fight with papa, during these three days I've been practising my magic manipulation and training my body in endurance and strength. I've been meditating, lifting weights, reading books on magic in the study, stretching, trying to increase my mana pool, and working out.
"I'll ask papa one more time, and now that I'm thinking about it, if I pair my cuteness and my totally innocent personality, I should be able to persuade him into letting me train with him and fight."
I'm wearing a brown dress that feels really light, I've also got those bracelets on my wrists, it looks kind of out of place but not at the same time, like a blues note in music. As I was admiring mysel- Ahem. As I was fixing myself up in the mirror the door opened up and a familiar, long eared maid walked in.
"Lady Tomoe, your mother and father are calling you down for lunch."
"Mhm~ I'm coming Sylvia~"
I finished straightening out my hair and grinned at myself in the mirror before skipping past Sylvia and out of my room. Today is the day, today I will set up the rest of my life for myself. I've studied this country and all of its regions, I've learnt this worlds currency and language, all of its races and ethnic groups, the different cuisines and the laws of this world. If I was to set out into the outside world now, I'm confident I would be able to survive on my own for a little while, before going o a place called the 'Adventurers Guild' where I can start doing jobs at the age of 13. Although, I'm probably more powerful then most f the Adventurers there already.
I stood at the entrance to our dining hall, it was a large double doorway that led into the hall where we ate, at first I was a little intimidated but after being around it for a while I got used to it.
"Now is the time."
I declared to myself, mustering some strength into my arms and pushing the door open by myself.
"Papa."
I declared upon entry.
"Lift this ban on fighting you have placed upon me."
