"Nihan Watts, 14 years old, an orphan grew by the Kvothe orphanage, magic apprentice, major in space magic." Nihan replied, he was scared, of the man, of him being an failiure, of him dying if he could do nothing.

"Don't be afraid of me young man, I am not going to kill you, atleast not in the capital." the man sneered and even his viper sneered or it seemed like it."you know you have hidden one major thing from me in that introduction of yours young man, your potential factor."

"It's an F, sir." replied Nihan

"hmmm, an F and you even majored in space magic, you should know of the consequences, young man, and i think you should also know that right now I'm going to reject you, so please dont waste both of our precious time, you have to think about your fututre and i about the next examinees, thank you."

Nihan knew whatever he did would not persuade the man to accept Nihan into the organisation, so he stood up and went through the door he came in from and entered the enormous lobby where

thousands of people in acolytes dresses had come, they had come to take THE EXAM.

This was the Mage's exam, held every year by the goverment of we'lar to pick out potential mages from all around the country, it was every apprentice's dream to get selected in it and to becone a mage.

Nihan lived in the country of we'lar where it was mandatory for all the kids to take part in the mages exam to see if they have the potential to becone mages, this was done by the country in order to ensure there was a constant inflow of talents.

If a person was talented, they would be rewarded greatly if not they would be kicked out as if they were some beggars.

And as fate likes to play with people, Nihan was one of them, penniless, homeless and parentless he had gone by his days by doing nothing but robbery, robbing shops, robbing his monastery and even robbing the funds of a welfare home, he definitely despised doing it, but he had to do it anyway because the stomach is a bitch, it would make people sin, so how can Nihan be an exception.

He thought that if he could pass the mages exam he could repay all the people who he had robbed but as it seems he now had to rob again, and rob more then ever.
