In the playground, some kids were running, and others climbed on the jungle gyms. Others were swinging on the swing set, and she noticed a few squatting and digging at the base of one of the trees.
Gene didn't feel like doing those stupid things so she walked to the devil descendant instead. The girl was in the corner smirking at the rest.
There were four boys, along with another girl. One boy knelt on the ground, sniffling. It would seem like a bully incident had happened. But Gene wasn't too sure who was in the wrong.
The girl shoved one of the three boys. "Leave him alone!"
The boy shoved her back, hard, making her take a step back, it would seem she was a werewolf. They were really strong. Gene wasn't sure if she was strong enough to take the gang but werewolf wasn't the type to back down so it was going to be interesting.
The two boys closed around her in a circle. Locking her escape root, not that she looks like she wanted to escape.
"I've told you before to stay out of this," the first boy hissed. "Stop sticking your wolf nose in where it doesn't belong."
The girl extended her hand and extract her claws and bared her fangs. The scent of blood and madness was in the air, Gene watches interested. Their colors ever changing. The boys were dark yellow, bad bad boys. Gene knew she'd never get along with them. The girl was red. Blood was going to be spill soon.
Curiously enough the boy on the floor had no color. So Gene did what any young blood would do.
She said, "Hello, handsome. What's up?"
The boy, the alpha spun around, angrily. He said, "None of your business, weakling. Scram."
Gene looked at the boy on the floor. He was human but had blood embedded on him. A marking, he had protection. Weak. His cheek was reddened. It looked like somebody had hit him a couple of times. Defenseless, the poor thing. Gene remembers that feeling well.
The question was what was she to do?
After a moment Gene said, "I don't think I'm weak. I hate when people call me that"
The Alpha stared. "Are you stupid? You smell weak blood."
"No." I answer waving my hands to cast a spell.
I may have learned silent casting. But it was draining on my source and I still wasn't good enough to just think and make it happen like my aunts. Mistakes often happen and now was not the best time to practice.
The expression on the wolf girl face wasn't better. She look at me like I was stupid too. But she didn't say anything. So I think I like her a bit and maybe we could be friends.
Alpha Boy stepped forward. He had strong blood. Taller than other by a full head and muscles to back it up. The expression in his eyes was aggressive. The other two boys flanked him on either side. It was pack behavior. I laughed.
The alpha said, "What did that do stupid?"
Interesting things were going on in my mind. I weaved into his shield. My power was strong enough to make changes but with protection, it didn't always work the way I want it to.
I still needed to learn more.
But I saw power move and all three of them were on the ground. Unable to move. The gravity of the world was pulling them down.
