Chapter 22 - Chapter 21 - Notion

Elias' answer stupefy T'lear, he needs a few moments to process Elias words before blowup. "What do you mean with, 'a hundred percent or so,' isn't it mean you already certain that you can save the boy."

"Eh, is that so? I never know that" Elias giggles in amusement after seeing T'lear outbursts.

After hearing Elias sarcasm, T'lear growl as he understands those words only Elias jive. He finally can calm himself with a deep breath. He then asks, "why do you even ponder to save him earlier?"

"No, I never contemplate whether save him or not. After hearing your report, I already devise some feasible plans — even with my current ability, saving that boy is an easy task."

Elias' words seem arrogant, but his confidence wasn't baseless. As a veteran of three big wars, even with incomplete information, he still can tell whether his comrade is savable or not in a split of a second.

It's like a basic instinct that ingrained in his mind as the last survivors; if there no path to save his comrades, he'll never hesitate to leave them to their death. However, if there any path to save his comrades, he'll see it instantly and won't show any hesitation to rush there.

This mentality goes both ways for all last survivors, there no hard feeling if they left by their comrade because they also know how unsalvagable their situation is. They even laugh while embracing their death and using their lives as bait, giving their friend some time to escape and bring down as many foes as possible.

Compared to that time, this problem is only like two-times-two puzzles, a simple task. This time he knows all his enemy power and weakness, he also understands his abilities more than anyone, there no way he makes a blunder and fails to save the boy.

After hearing Elias' words, even though T'lear doesn't know what basing his confidence, but T'lear knows he already set his mind to save that boy.

"You better not too overconfident, it's a pit of downfall," T'lear only can sigh while giving his advice.

"It's pretty convincing when I hear it from your mouth," Elias murmurs while looking to T'lear — a man who got defeated earlier because of overconfidence.

"What?"

"Nothing," Elias hurriedly says. "Don't be nervous, I know my limits, I'll immediately back down when the situation goes south,"

T'lear feels Elias's thinking something rude earlier but can't see what it is. Nevertheless, it's comforting to know Elias listening to his advice.

"Fine, but what thought that took you so long earlier?" T'lear asks another question.

T'lear curiosity piqued after realizing that Elias quietness earlier wasn't because of his hesitation whether saving the boy or not. At first, T'lear thought it because he still contemplating about the risk of saving Nanako's brother which make T'lear persuade him earlier, but after hearing Elias' previous words, it doesn't seem the case.

After hearing T'lear inquiry, Elias let out a little smile and then answer lightly.

"I only calculated my chance and benefit against the goblin champion, which is worth the risks."

"Wha, didn't you even listen to my words earlier. Your strength, is, very, very, lacking. If you rush there and fight it head-on, you'll die in a matter of minutes."

"I know, but who said I'll fight it head-on. Also, the harvest is quite enticing, if I can kill a goblin champion and add it to my catalog, that will become a good resource to my current stage."

T'lear deems Elias' words reasonable after listening to it, but it still doesn't change the fact how dangerous it is. However, if they always choose safe route, they won't catch up other dungeon masters' growth who already in this world first.

"I don't know what you're planning, but it's better to rock solid."

"It's fine, don't worry too much, we'll attack them in the night when I have perception advantage over them," Elias tries to calm T'lear.

"Fine, what's your plan?" T'lear sighs.

"Well, we still have time until nights, I'll spend the time farming some runes from worms and then rescue that boy later."

"Fine. Wait, worms?" T'lear tilts his head.

"Yeah, worm," Elias let out an evil smile while looking towards T'lear.

"I feel something unpleasant in your mind."

Moon's illuminating the cloudy night, the usual tranquil forest becomes full of noises, earsplitting cries reverberate in this place, because of one man with a sword — Elias — killing goblins.

Beside Elias, a transparent ghost floating while letting out an angry remarks from time to time.

"Why the heck I even slightly believe your so-called good idea."

"Don't sweat it too much, it's normal to plan deviate sometimes," Elias says after hearing T'lear shout amidst scream of goblins around him, he moves flawlessly to avoid those goblins swords, but it soon stops because of one roar from above.

KROAAAAAA!

He looks upwards and sees a huge muscular green monster standing on top of the hill. This monster is very familiar to Elias' memories — a goblin champion — a monster that gives him a nightmare for weeks, in his past life. That huge monster brings great axes on both of his hand, he swings it easily as though he wield small weapons. The goblin champion's looking at Elias with angry expression after noticing many goblin corpses spreading around Elias.

KROAAAA!

The goblin champion jumps from the hill and then roar to improve others goblins moral. Goblins previous cry of desperation changes into happy cheers after seeing their savior coming.

"I won't fight it head-on, my ass," T'lear cursed when seeing the goblin champions facing Elias with an enraged face as though ready to tear Elias apart anytime.

"Remind me later to disagree with your next idea," T'lear grumbles after seeing this hectic situation.
