For Vick,he was always running. He was running from the day he was born. It was the only thing he seemed good at, and he loved to do it. It served as a stress reliever for him, as well as a way to collect his thoughts.
Shame his family wanted him to not just run. They wanted the future where he could live up to his ancestor's name. Sadly he seemed to be a worthless child. In a world where the most sought after job is a Titan hunter, all Vick could do is run.
He didn't let that stop him though. If all Vick would do is run he made goddamn sure that he's running to save people. A bit of a book nerd as well as liking to run, all titans recorded in the Old World were stored in his brain. But that wasn't needed for the math class he was taking currently. Thankfully, he was saved by the bell. "Ahhh finally, I get to relax. " Vick said whilst stretching, which is why he didn't notice the small girl sneak up behind him. "boo!" she shouted as she poked him in his back, which sent Vick positively flying forward. Spinning around, his face quickly changed to anger to fear when he noticed who had done.
" Sarah I told you don't do that. You know I hate it," he said repeatedly. "But it's so funny. I can't help it."Was the response from the beautiful girl in front of him. Sarah is notoriously known as the only girl who could keep up with Vick on many levels. She was only shorter than him by an inch, but still tall at 5'7. She also was the only one who could keep up with Vick's running speed. " well you coming with? I'm going to run. " Vick asked as he approached the classroom door. "Of course. In fact, I'll race you there." Sarah said as she sprinted down the hall past them. Vick followed her, quickly catching up. They had already sprinted far outside the school. They sprinted past houses and buildings, to the only place they can run and talk freely. A small park not far from the school...for them. Arriving at the gates, they pushed it open and ran inside.

They had run for hours. By the time Vick git home, it was already dark. He opened the doors to his pretty unfurnished house. It only had a few tables and a fridge, a wonderful piece of replicated technology from the old world. Seemed his parents weren't home. That was good, he didn't want to even look at them. He had cut his ties with them long before and was currently saving money to move out. He went to his room and flopped down on the bed. He looked at the only picture that he had in his tiny empty room, which was a picture of his now-dead older brother. He started to cry. He was a Titan hunter, one of the few amazing people of this world to be able to contest and explore the depths of the old World. He had an amazing ability to not only attract Titans but also incapacitate them temporarily. An amazing ability. Sadly he met his end to a titan that was to fast for him to notice. They had gotten the letter from the Titan hunter guild and shortly after his parents started to dissociate him. His mandatory skill test at 17 solidified his outcasting from the family. It didn't help that he was adopted. Not even Sarah knew what about this. He cried before his parents-no his legal guardians -got back home.

The next day at school he and Sarah got an interesting challenge from one of their mutual friends. A short guy that goes by the name of Leo. A race for who has to each other's homework that they will be given. They both immediately accepted. They were racing around the school. Leo was counting down. Leo was counting down. "3..." He calmed his nerves down. "2...." Getting into a running position next to Sarah. "1...." And then the school imploded
