Chapter 26 - “Godly” Skill

Today was the graduation day for Chojusen and all of his friends. He was planning on waking up his brother extra early, but Choji was so excited he had already gotten up. He and practically all the other kids in their class had been waiting all these years to finally become true blue ninjas.

Chojusen took Chokogo and put her in his personal dimension. At some point throughout these years she had taken to start sleeping on Chojusen. He didn't say anything because, while he was being used as a pillow, Chokogo herself was the softest pieces of "furniture" he had come across; leaning on her black fuzzy body was much better than just meditating with no support.

Chojusen and Choji walked their way to the academy and were not surprised to find most of their friends already present, even though it was thirty minutes early. The group of kids talked amongst themselves until their teacher came through the entrance door. Since today was the last day, the kids were spared from doing boring activities like learning math and history; all they had to do was pass the graduation's written test and comprehensive performance test. The written test was easy for anyone that would even periodically listen to the teacher's lecture, so everyone passed this test.

The comprehensive performance test was a bit different, there would be a standard evaluation where the students had to use the clone jutsu and transformation jutsu to pass, and a special evaluation for kids that were unable to use ninjutsu, but excelled in other fields.

Rock Lee was the only person that had to take the special evaluation for his inability to use ninjutsu and genjutsu. At this point, taijutsu was the only thing going for him. Given that he was Chunin level with taijutsu, he passed the special evaluation.

Chojusen and all this friends passed through the normal way. Everyone could transform with a satisfactory level and creating two illusionary non-elemental clones was not that difficult; except for Naruto. Because he had the Nine-Tails constantly nourishing his body with endless amounts of chakra , he himself had a ridiculous energy reserve built up over the years; this constant nourishing was only the icing on the cake that was his Uzumaki bloodline.

It was a good thing that Naruto had his parents to teach him some extreme chakra control exercises since he was small. Otherwise he might have created thousands of clones for the test instead of the 200 he actually did.

At the end of the day, Chojusen and his friends all passed their tests. They would now pick what kind of protector they wanted. Most chose the standard forehead protected, but Choji asked for some weird abomination that looked like upside down underwear on his head and Lee asked for a belt instead of a forehead protector. Chojusen just asked for the regular forehead protector.

Now that they were formal ninjas, they would get their pictures taken to make it official. Tomorrow all the kids that passed the graduation exam would go to the Hokage Tower to take their picture.

Chojusen and Choji celebrated their graduation in the all-you-can-eat barbeque buffet. Now that the Akimichi Clan had the Density Duplication technique their need for calories didn't change. However, their general "shape" as a Clan entirely became more fit; since the technique no longer makes your body bigger, just denser, a fit body is better suited. Choji was no longer a chubby guy, he look a bit more like his brother now; except his nose was a bit messed up.

After their dinner at the barbecue, the brothers went back home, trying their best to suppress their excitement to go to sleep; Chojusen never slept, but his excitement broke any form of concentration he needed to practice through the night.

The next day came around, and at seven in the morning Hokage Tower was full of eleven to twelve year olds, waiting to take their pictures. Everything was fine and dandy, everyone was being registered at a fast and efficient rate, until it was Chojusen's turn to be registered.

He took his picture like everyone else, but as Minato was registering him into the Hidden Leaf Village's documents some seven-year-old burst through the door and tried to sneak attack Minato. He fell on his face, by tripping… on nothing? Minato looked at the kid and said "Konohamaru, how many time are you going to try this game."

Konohamaru said "I... my attack would have been successful if..." he pointed at Chojusen "if that guy didn't trip me with a trap!"

Chojusen was both amused and confused "What trap? You literally tripped on nothing..."

Ebisu, Konohamaru's tutor, entered the room and said "Lord Fourth, I profoundly apologize on Konohamaru's behalf..." he looked at Chojusen and thought to himself 'It's our village's mighty Sage! I should get Konohamaru to study from his character...'

Konohamaru seemed adamant on blaming his failed attack on Chojusen so he said "Kid why don't you fight me! I'll prove you were the reason my attack failed."

Chojusen looked at Minato, Minato didn't do or say anything so Chojusen just accepted. He said "Fine, go ahead and do your worst..."

Konohamaru took out a bunch of shurikens and kunais clumsily from his pounch and threw them at Chojusen. Chojusen was limited to Konohamaru's strenght, but his skill was still as ridiculous as ever. He caught all the projectiles that were thrown at him and tossed them to the side.

When Konohamaru ran out, he tried to fight Chojusen with taijutsu; big mistake. Chojusen easily deflected all his opponent's attacks and when he started to get bored of this exchange, he disabled Konohamaru by poking him repeatedly to expose his flaws. Konohamaru took about ten pokes before quitting.

When he got back up he looked at Chojusen with wonder and said "Can you teach me that godly poking skill?"

Chojusen almost fainted. Of all the skills he had, no one had called them godly, but this random poking was the first "skill" to be called godly? He could flatten mountains and evaporate seas with his Flame Bullet, but his poking skill earned the title of godly first? This was an injustice.

Chojusen said "Mhmm I doubt I'll be able to teach you now that I'm a ninja..."

Before Konohamaru could even respond, Ebisu took him and left the room while apologizing to both Chojusen and Minato again.

After Minato finished processing all of Chojusen's documents, Chojusen was free to go. Minato told Chojusen that tomorrow he would learn who his Jonin teacher would be.

As Chojusen was walking home, he quickly detected that he was being followed. Even if he didn't have his detecting abilities, it would be hard to miss a disguise as bad as Konohamaru's. Konohamaru was trying to blend in with a wooden fence but his disguised neither matched the orientation of the fence's grain nor the type of wood…

Chojusen said "Why are you following me?"

Konohamaru said "Ha! Very impressive that of saw through my perfect disguise. You are indeed worthy of someone I want to make my boss!"

"Boss? Why would you want me to be your boss?"

"I need to learn that godly poking skill to beat the Hokage."

As Konohamaru was talking Ebisu was fast approaching. He had let Konohamaru out of his sight for half a second and poof; he was gone! When Ebisu saw that Konohamaru was talking to Chojusen, he waited a bit to see how the conversation would turn out.

Chojusen said "Do you think that you'll be able to beat the Hokage with just my little poking technique? You do realize that the Hokage you are trying to beat is he same person that killed thousands of people in a flash, back in the Third Shinobi War right? Why do you want to beat him anyways?"

"I… I want to beat him so that people will recognize me for who I am. Everywhere I go I just known as the Third Hokage's grandson; no one calls me by my name."

"While I think it's good that you want to be strong to be recognized, you need to realize that there are no shortcuts to gaining strength. The most you can do now is train to be stronger and earn a bit of reputation from your hard work. If you keep trying to beat the Hokage like your are doing now, you'll only be recognized as the dumb kid who foolishly tries to beat the Hokage."

Konohamaru thought about Chojusen's words for a while and he seemed to have an "aha" moment. Ebisu appeared again, he thanked Chojusen for giving Konohamaru a needed lecture and then apologized for letting Konohamaru pester him.

Chojusen continued to walk to his house. When he finally got there, he let Chokogo out of his personal dimension and bided his time waiting for tomorrow, to meet his teacher and find out who his teammates would be. When Chojusen was in his house, he would always let Chokogo play around him; he couldn't keep her locked up in his personal dimension for weeks or months, that would be cruel...
