Chapter 36 - The Legend Part 18

The men surrounded the inn with the torches and dropped the torches onto the inn. The inn was in flames in seconds. Pa Chee's hand reached inside her clothes and she untied the bundles of clothes she had strapped on her waist to give her the pregnant belly and threw it into the fire. She turned around, and walked away to her carriage, signaling for her men to go.

Inside the inn, Chue Yi used his last energy to get up, untied the ropes that were tightly wrapped around Hli Ja and Pao Hua. Once he untied them, he led them down the stairs to the back door, but the fire was getting more intense. It was getting harder and harder to breathe. Hli Ja and Pao Hua coughed from inhaling fumes.

As they reached the end of the hallway to the back door, the pillar collapsed. Chue Yi used all his might to hold onto the burning pillars as he shielded Hli Ja and Pao Hua. He shouted, "Go, just go!"

The fire started to spread and burn Chue Yi as he was holding onto the inn's pillars. He screamed for Pao Hua to take Hli Ja away. "Aren't you, her brother? A brother must protect his sister. Take your sister away!"

Hli Ja did not want to leave the guards and maids behind as they had always helped her along the way.

Tears streamed down her face as she shook her head in refusal. The flames grew larger, larger, and inched closer. It was only a matter of time before they all would get burnt.

The steamers on the stage shot out the airs on the floor of the stage and followed by the flames.

Swoosh! Swoosh! The sound effects pulled the audiences into the scene of a house burning in the flames while the stage turned 180 degrees back and forth a couple of times giving the audience different angle views.

Everyone was tensed, focusing on the scene of the inn burning down to the ground.

As the inn tumbled down, a glass fell and rolled on the ground and the sound pulled the group's attention away from the play. They turned to look at Prince Hue Chi and saw the glass cup on the floor that had just rolled to a complete stop.

There was a thump on the floor followed by Su Na's scream, "Yu Sha! Yu Sha!"

Everyone's attention shifted to the other end of the room and they saw Yu Sha on the floor, curled up grasping her chest wheezing for some air.

Everyone stood up and ran over to Yu Sha in panic at the sight of the lady lying on the ground, struggling to breathe. Yu Sha had not had any episodes for almost two decades.

In her quick thinking, Su Na reached for Yu Sha's bag to find her inhaler. She dumped everything in the bag out only to find that there was no inhaler. Damn! Of course, Yu Sha probably did not carry it around anymore. She had not had an episode for so long and her asthma did get better as she got older.

Yu Sha was still gasping uncontrollably, curled up on the ground. Her face paled as her consciousness faded in and out.

"Get a doctor," Keo shouted. He got down, lifted her up in his arms, and rushed out of the room.

Butler Zeu had already made the call and had the paramedic dispatched from the nearest location.

Keo and Su Na were in a complete shock. In the past, even when Yu Sha's was small, her asthma attack was not that serious. What was wrong with her suddenly? She was just fine as a beast earlier.

Five minutes later, paramedics arrived outside when Keo reached the main entrance. Butler Zeu signaled for the paramedics to hurry over. In the direction of the person signaling them, they saw a man carrying a woman who at that point seemed unconscious. They rushed over with the stretcher, laid Yu Sha on the stretcher and covered her face with a ventilator to keep oxygen pumping so her brain was not oxygen-deprived. The paramedics rushed her inside the vehicle once they safely administered and secured everything.

Keo followed the paramedics and went inside to assist the situation. The paramedics asked questions about what happened and the patient's health history that could help them determine the best course of first aid treatments. Not only was Keo able to answer them all, but he also advised them. He filled out some treatment authorization forms while they made their way to the hospital nearby.

It surprised the paramedic person that Keo knew pretty much everything about Yu Sha as far as her health was concerned. Because of his familiarity with her, one paramedic couldn't help but ask, "What is your relationship to her? Her boyfriend?" As they did not see Yu Sha wearing a wedding ring, they could only conclude that he could be her boyfriend.

Keo paused for a few seconds, feeling warm-hearted at the word, boyfriend.

"She was a patient at my father's hospital. She's an important friend," he replied. Herr's Corporation owned the hospital where Yu Sha was born and treated. Just with those words, the paramedics became more cautious of their behaviors and words.

Keo glanced at Yu Sha, lying lifelessly on the stretcher with her closed eyes, leaving him distressed seeing her in that condition.

The hospital was only about ten minutes away. Shortly, the paramedic vehicle arrived at the emergency room. Yu Sha was wheeled inside and testing was prioritized for her.
