The voice on the other end of the phone line paused before replying, "Jingyu, can't I call you even if I haven't signed the agreement?"
Si Jingyu heaved a sigh of relief but internally scolded herself for being a disappointment.
Her tone was still icy. "Is anything the matter?"
"…"
There was silence over the phone line. Si Jingyu impatiently snapped, "If there's nothing you want to say to me, I'll hang up."
Once she finished her sentence, she was prepared to hang up, but then she heard a shout on the other end of the line, "Jingyu…"
Si Jingyu was astonished. It was as though a spell had been cast of her – she held the phone to her ear at the behest of supernatural powers.
