Yet her eyes had a hint of anticipation in it, and he paused for a moment, as his brows met. His lips then formed into straight line, and after a while, he spoke.

Wen He looked up, a flash of disappointment and hurt appeared in her eyes.

She knew, his refusal to answer meant there was a very disappointing answer behind it.
What was she actually expecting?

Wen He smiled bitterly, as a self-mocking smirk appeared.
