The doctor stood up and walked away from the front and walked away. Silence once again fell upon the cell. This was something that she had never experienced before. The peace she was so used to made her ignorant about what happened in the outside world. The people of Inssan had really shaped the reputation of humans everywhere to all the people around the world. Deep down inside she was angry but there was really nothing she could do about it. Having experienced first hand the cruelty of slavers she understood in a small capacity how other might feel about them.
A few minutes later a subtle groan came from John's mouth as he finally came to. He was taller and looked like an adult man on a child's bed. The look on his face was a story on discomfort. He tried to lift his hand to his head but to his dismay there was a chain on his hands.
"Ugh!" he said as he tilted his head towards Minerva.
"Glad to see you in good health." she mocked.
"Where are we? What is happening?" he queried.
"I am literally in the same cell as you buddy, awaiting judgement as fate would have it, but things are not looking good."
"Can you get out of these restrains?"
"Somehow I can't. They place some sort of restriction on me. Can you."
"Lets just wait, we are in a cell I do not think that there is a point to aggravating them any further."
Captains offices.
Silence. Seven gruff looking men were sitting around a table. The most conspicuous among them was a stout man with a white beard. He was wearing a pair of glasses and a lab coat over his uniform. On the table in front of them was an empty rucksack whose contents had been placed on the table. There were a number of lunch boxes whose content was something that they had never seen before. If anyone were to walk in on this scene they couldn't help but crack a smile.
They couldn't help but have their mouth water. The aroma wafted through the room. There was a pair of swords on the table as well but no one seemed to pay attention to them. The aroma of the food wafted to their noses. Even though they were captains the food that was prepared was still inferior to the contents of the lunch boxes.
"Cough cough," it was the bearded man, "Clearly this is just food."
"Ahem, How do we know that there is no poison in the food, this could be a scheme to have us all dead."
"Right you never know what these filthy humans are planning."
"Oh come on, They infiltrated the mountain from the top dressed like it was summer. Clearly not the smartest criminals."
"I am from the scientific division, I can test for the presence of poison in this, I have access to antidotes of most of the worlds most poisons." The bearded man was stroking his beard as he stared at the plate closest to him.
"Have you no shame, you're clearly lusting after this plate of food, clearly come out and say it if you want to eat it just say so."
"You clearly want it as much as I do." This line of argument continued but unbeknown to them another person had entered the room with the doctor who was guarding John and Minerva. He was larger than all the captains. He was burly and clearly well built. Unlike all the others his uniform was black and on his chest was a lapel pin. The pin had a black dragon with red eyes that seemed as though it was alive.
The room was dimly lit with one lamp hanging above the table. Slowly silence descended on the room as one by one they noticed that there was a terrifying but very familiar presence. Beads of cold sweat could be seen on their faces. The aroma of the food had even disappeared from their mouths. The man took slow steady steps towards the table. Each step seemed louder than the last with a rise in the offensive aura in the air. A distant roar of a dragon could be heard though one couldn't be sure if it was actually there.
When he took the last step all the captains stood up with a whimper in unison like someone had kicked a bunch of dogs. The doctor was still standing at the door. She felt as though she could faint from the air in the meeting room. Even the already dim light seemed to become dimmer.
"What - the - hell - are - you - idiots - doing?" he said each word slowly. They were at the same pace as his steps before and equally as intense. He seemed to grow taller. His voice was calm and steady and did not sound angry at all. If it was under different circumstances it might have been soothing but in this situation is was completely different.
"We were just arguing about who should dole out the punishment for these humans." The captain who hadn't spoken yet managed to say after some time.
"They woke up." the doctor said feebly. She knew that she had no foot to stand on in this room so she had to speak from the door. She had already informed the commander but they had come to get the captains who were deliberating what was the next step but to the commanders ire they were arguing about who would get the food.
"Balfrod, Take them to an interrogation room." the commander said to the captain who had responded. "The rest of you can sit and watch. Now leave before i change my mind and do something - severe." He stressed the last word and a chill returned to the room. All the captains quickly exited the room and the lights seemed to return brighter as the commander was left alone with the doctor.
"Dad, why do you have to be so harsh," she said rolling her eyes.
"It's my duty, Little Swan."
