They reached Varun's house in Dehradun late in the evening, and to their surprise, there was no one in the house and it was locked from outside.
Varun was tensed and along with that, he became angry with Amyra for her carelessness.
-"This is all because of you. what is the need to bump into others matter without knowing the fact? You careless girl." He yelled angrily.
Amyra kept quiet because she was also tensed and accepted herself as guilty.
Varun opened the door with the substitute key he had and they entered the house because for tonight they had no other option than to stay here and wait until morning. Varun couldn't get where she can go. 'Maybe she knew that we will be after her so she went somewhere else, but where?' Varun's thought was interrupted when his phone rang.
It was the person he hates the most. with a feeling of disgust, he picked up the call.
-"Hello, dear son you didn't tell me that you are going to Dehradun to take your granny back. You should have asked me once." The voice came from another side with faked sadness and full of disdain.
-"I never felt like I should ask you something like this. Just come to the point why you troubled yourself to call me?" Varun said with confidence in the heart that this woman never does anything without any reason, there might be some reason that she called her.
Varun's words were followed by silence after a while the woman replied.
-"Can't I call my son without any reason just to know how he is doing?"
Varun laughed hearing her, it felt like a joke to him.
-"Ok, then I am fine. Are you done? Bye.."
He said and about to cut the call when the person from other side said.
-"Wait I have something else to say. I heard my grandniece is with you. I want to talk to her."
Varun now got why she called.
-"You have problems with me so why do you want to talk to her. It's better for you to not mess with her." Varun said frowned.
-"what if I say that your dearest granny is with me then I think you'll let me talk to her." Said his stepmom with laughter.
-"So you took her. Why didn't you tell me?" Varun knew this woman very well, and she is telling the truth.
-"You never bothered to tell me anything so why should I do? Ok now just give her the phone like an obedient boy," she Said.
After getting yelled by Varun Amyra was standing outside the room in the balcony. She only ate in the morning before leaving the house and now she was starving in hunger but in this situation, she couldn't get enough courage to tell it to Varun.
Varun came to the balcony to give Amyra the phone. He only could see half profile of her and her unruly hairs getting unstable due to the cold breeze. She was looking far away to a distant mountain. He couldn't resist but kept looking until Amyra turned towards him. She already heard door sound and felt his presence.
-"What happened? You got any news of granny." She said.
-"Ya, she is fine. Actually, your grandaunt wants to talk to you."
said Varun forwarding the phone towards her.
Varun walked again inside the room after giving her the phone.
Amyra greeted her grandaunt taking the phone.
-"Live long!" praised her grandaunt.
-"How are you, my child? how's your father, does he know about what you are doing with my stepson? I am a well-wisher of you, that's why it's my duty to warn you before it's too late." she continued.
Amyra understood why her father and Varun don't like this woman.
-"Thanks, aunt but I can think about myself," she said.
-"I appreciate your try but Varun is not a lover boy like his father. it's gonna be hard for you my child. He has grudges against me so I fear you'll suffer it." the woman in other side said showing her fake concern.
-"Don't bother aunt I'll take care of it. Don't think all to be the same as you." Amyra said thinking about the thefoul mindset of her grandaunt. Her words infuriated the woman on the other side of the phone.
-"Ok fine so you also inherited the sharp tongue of our family. Let me see how far you can get. I must discuss this thing with your father." She said gnashing her teeth and cut the call.
Amyra laughed at herself that she pretended as her grandaunt said the truth but actually there is nothing between them, actually there's something but it's only one-sided. So it doesn't matter but she couldn't let go the chance to infuriate this evil woman.
