After a couple of hours beating the trees unarmed, I felt that the skills weren't improving at all, so I switched over to my staff. I was pounding away at the log when I heard a sharp crack and the staff splintered into two.

"Shits I probably put too force much for into that. Muhuhu, guess its time to show my peerless mastery in crafting."

I decided to make myself a new staff, it was a great way to train up my {blunt weapon mastery} skill until my previous one broke. Fortunately, I was surrounded by pine trees, so I didn't have to worry about spending money on materials. As this forest trail was a public place, there was barely any undergrowth so it was easy enough to jug through i. However, when I looked around the ground for a thick piece of wood. I realised my error.

The pine trees were high off the ground, and the closest branches were more like trunks. They were far too thick. There were a few trees that had fallen down, and so I could access their branches. But the ones I wanted were either rotten, or I was unable to rip them off.

If it was the previous me then this would have been an impossible task, but thankfully I had the system which greatly improved my physical abilities. Approaching a fallen tree, I set about sawing off a branch as thick as my arm with a bread knife, making sure that I covered it in mana to increase its sharpness and durability. After cutting it down to size, I used my knife to slice off the thin protrusions and smooth the surface down. I gave it an experimental swing. In my hands, it felt solid and heavy.

I then learned two new skill.

mm. Nice enough. However, I didn't care enough to look at the description. It was obvious enough.

However, my new found staff was a bit too thick for me to grasp it properly. So with the bread knife, carefully I cut the bark off the staff, trimming it down until the wood was exposed. I then sawed it down to a manageable size and trimmed the uneven bits off with a sharp knife giving it a smooth finish. Having completed the task, I hefted it and gave it an experimental swing. It felt good, heavy and solid on my hand. Like I could wreck serious damage with it. However, it didn't look great. Aside from it being heavier than my previous one, I also sharpened one end of the staff creating a pseudo spear.

My makeshift spear complete, I put the tools away and cleaned up the small mess I had created. I then resumed my training with the spear.

I could feel the difference straight away.

Where my previous staff thunked against the log, my new spear slammed into the log. I could feel pity for the log.

It was harder to wield my new spear than the bo-staff was, and as it was heavier, but I found that it was raising the skill proficiency quickly and it also created a new skill. Not only that but it seems that if I have reached the quota required to level up again.

"I seem to be gaining stats abnormally fast. Is this the power of the {Hack system}?"

I wondered finding the rate of XP gains I receive a bit odd, but seeing as it was an advantage for me I didn't really mind and had a look at the skills I've acquired up until now.

Closing the screen in front of me, I couldn't stop grinning from seeing my accomplishments being displayed in front of me. But now that I think about it, the majority of my skills seems to be geared towards fighting huh? I probably should learn how to gamble later, although self-defence is important I really cant earn money quickly by using it.

"I'll think about it later, for now, time to vanquish my enemies(Trees)!"
