Jeff was woken up in the middle of the night by a call from Ronald.
"Boss! I'm sorry to bother you, but it's an emergency. I received a call from our office in the Bahamas—one of our vessels has been hijacked. What do you want me to do?" Ronald's voice was shaky with fear.
"Are you at the mansion?" Jeff murmured into the phone, trying not to wake Ann, who was sleeping soundly beside him.
"Yes, I'm downstairs in your study right now."
"Alright, I'll be there in a minute." Jeff slowly lifted his wife's head from his arm, gently placing it on the pillow. He got up quietly, put on some clothes, and tiptoed to the door. Carefully, he opened it, making sure not to make a sound. Once outside, he hurried down the stairs, taking two at a time, and quickly went to the study.
When Jeff entered the room, Ronald had already prepared steaming coffee on the desk, and the computer was turned on, ready for a video call with their office in the Bahamas.
