Chapter 49 - The Incident ( Part 1)

Tria and her companions witnessed the whole affair.

"So he is the renowned Lord Aten from the Moon Land," said Crei as he thought about something.

"You have heard of him?"

"Yes...Although Emperor Chen rules the Land of All, each land still has their own ruling, other than the Earth Land and the Sun Land, no one from the other lands shows up to the imperial court. As for the Moon land, because their people's abilities deal with time, they could be centuries old and you would not be able to tell. This Lord Aten has been the Lord ruling over the Moon Land for centuries, so he is at least that old. He is renown for his modern practices, and the ruling system he has set up for the Moon Land, I guess you could compare him a king, although he doesn't go by that title" said Crei patiently.

"Oh, interesting, to have the Lord of the Moon Land himself allowing us entry into the Moon Land, maybe our stay here won't be too bad," said Tria.

"Don't be so quick to think that wifey, it could depend on what his real intentions are. There are still different factions in the Moon Land, and I also believe there are other sovereigns here as well. The closer we get to the Unknown Land, the more dangers will await us."

On the mention of other sovereigns, Tria stiffened. Only Crei was currently a sovereign among them, she was far from reaching that level, therefore she noted to herself that she also needed to advance as soon as possible, most of the energy she had been absorbing was released during the ceremony in the Earth land. While she was here in the Moon Land, she will take full advantage to cultivate.

With Lord Aten leading the way, the rest simply followed. Having entered the Moon Land, they were eager to see what the moon land was like, and everyone was surprised to see how bright it was for a place of the night.

On both side of the streets were lights, there were incoming and outgoing traffic sides, and there were many people out busying the well-lit streets. There were many stores selling various items and restaurants cooking many exotic foods, with the smells intoxicating the group, Mexi especially.

The people of the Moon land were the most exotics people of all the lands, their white-silver hair, and pale skin was most noticeable. Tria's group could not sight one old person, everyone was young, other than the gender difference, their clothes were the only other thing to tell them apart.

They all wore bright silk tunics, accompanied with many ornaments. The women were especially beautiful, as their tunics had glitter and glowing threads sewn in. Their beautiful silver hair combed in different styles, and their beautiful faces beamed with different make-up. The men wore simple silk tunics; however they were all handsome, tall, and their silver hair made them look very mysterious.

Not many people paid attention to the passing carriages, however, had they known that their lord was in there, they would have welcomed him grandly.

After what seemed to be a few miles, the carriages made a turn, away from the illuminated area and went up towards an isolated hill. On that hill, sat a huge radiant castle, stretching over a thousand meters wide.

The same greetings from earlier occurred when the guards saw that it was their lords who have returned, and they opened the gates, letting the carriages in.

As everyone came down, Lord Aten was ready to receive them.

"Ladies and gentlemen, as the host, I have taken the liberty to have you lodge in my humble home, I hope that's alright," said Lord Aten.

To call this humongous castle humble was truly an understatement.

"I wonder why," said Mexi as she rolled her eyes at the man.

"Of course it is to enjoy….everyone's company," answered Lord Anten, looking at Tria, but then was blocked by Crei.

"Is it so you can watch over our moves?" directly asked Tria, stepping out behind Crei.

"Oh, little rabbit, whatever you need to do as a priestess, please go ahead, however, my land has no such things like the dark mist or whatever. I think my people would benefit more from your cleansing, I would not mind to set up a place and time either for you to perform another ceremony," offered the man.

"Why are you helping so much?" asked Tria.

"I have never meddled in businesses regarding the priestesses, however, if my people are going to benefit from their practice, I am willing to support it."

Tria stared right into his eyes, and she detected no malice.

"Please direct us to our lodgings," finally answered Tria, she was already here and she hasn't discovered anything out of the ordinary yet, they might as well accept his offer.

"Of course, please follow me."

They walked through a big open hall with tall illuminated pillars, and through a large flower garden leading to what seems to be a guest house.

"This place should be able to accommodate everyone, I will have a servant come soon in case you need anything. Although it is always night here in the Moon Land, we still sleep…hmm in our own time. I will be going back, and I shall see you in a few hours from now?" Lord Aten said as he eyed Tria.

"Hmm..sure," answered Tria.

Lord Aten then left, leaving the group behind. He walked back to the same path, but when he arrived in the hall with the illuminated pillars, he walked into a pillar that absorbed his body, bringing him up to his study room.

"Mgor!" he called out.

"My Lord," a voice sounded out from the dark.

"Have you seen her?"

"Yes, my Lord."

"Do you recognize her?"

"No, my Lord."

"If you don't recognize her then why does she seem so familiar to me? When I first saw her, the feeling I got was as if she was a long time friend I haven't seen in centuries. Some of my memories missing doesn't help either," he said while sitting down on a large chair. He massaged his temple in frustration of not being able to remember some of his deepest memories.

Since that incident happened decades ago, most of Lord Aten's memories were wiped away. Other than his name, and that he was supposed to rule over the Moon Land, he could not remember anything else. He had lived without any purposes for years, and it was the first time he has gotten a reaction to anything, as well as the first time he had gotten upset over not being able to remember anything.
