Chereads / Priestess Of The Land / Chapter 19 - Karma Had Its Ways

Chapter 19 - Karma Had Its Ways

***Bonus Chapter***

"Wifey, this is shocking news, but how could that be, you know how to cultivate, right?"

"Yes, I do not understand it myself, I did not think much of it when my levels would continuously advance to the next, the fact that priestesses should not be able to cultivate escaped me."

Crei was indeed surprised by Tria's revelation, and he was worried for her safety. However, knowing that she could cultivate her powers, he felt better. He never thought that the woman, he had saved and even married, and now had feelings for, would turn out to be the priestess that everyone was looking for.

"Can I go along with you?", he asked he wanted to help her.

"No, however, before I leave" she got closer to Crei and took his hand, "I want to help you remove that ill energy surrounding your body."

"You can see it?", Crei was startled, no one should be able to see that energy around him.

"Yes, I can. However, I cannot tell what it is without further inspection."

"Wifey, I thank you, however, look, it is not an ill energy at all." He stood up in front on her.

The ill energy that was surrounding Crei suddenly started to dissipate, revealing a radiant aura from his body.

"This is just some cautionary measures my parents have left me with, so I could blend in with the people of this realm better, I am actually able to absorb energy as well." Crei continued, he looks totally otherworldly at this moment.

The power coming from Crei's body triggered Tria's ability and her eyes turned to a bright gold as she scanned him. That power was what awakened her priestess abilities before, she thought, when she first laid eyes on him, it had hurt her to the core of her soul. However, at this moment it did not harm her at all, what she was seeing left her bewildered and flabbergasted for a while.

"What are you?", she finally asked.

Tria never thought that the man she married would be such a powerful existence. The world saw him as a cripple and even ridiculed him nonstop, it is now no wonder that it had never bothered him. Crei did not tell her what he was, claiming it was for her own safety.

Wherever he is from must be somewhere a lot more developed than this land. She did not push the matter, right now she had to prepare herself to leave. Back when she and Crei discussed over her departure, she did not let him go with her.

"With my powers, there will be no dangers to you, let me be your shield."

"I know, however, if you come along, it will limit my growth," she stared into his eyes and continued,

"I can tell you are stronger than anybody on the Land if in the future I want to stand by your side when you need me to, how can I defend myself?"

He thought about it and was reluctant but how can he say anything he sees such determination in her eyes.

"Fine, but let Mexi come with you," he seemed hesitant to continue his words, but he thought, 'while you are away I will settle with my own enemies so that when it comes the time for us to be together again, we will not need to hide.'

Tria accepted his offer, she figured he would feel more at peace with her departure knowing his shadow is accompanying her.

"That is alright with me, I will leave next week. Before I go, I need your help to go to the palace and to the prime minister's estate to make our vows, so when I leave, no one suspects anything."

"Going to the emperor is not important, I'll let someone notify that old man," Crei said nonchalantly, his wasn't the emperor's real son, so there was no need to go see him, "however we can go to the Prime Minister's estate, do you have anything you hold dear from that place?"

Crei did not know the whole story from Tria's upbringing from the prime minister's estate, but he knew she didn't have any happy memories from there. He wished he met her sooner, maybe her struggles would have been less, and right now they would have been much closer. Crei did not have any good feelings towards prime minister Ra, no parents should neglect their children as he did. Such a man would never amount to anything much.

Tria thought about his question.

'Anything I hold dear? Heh, I don't know how the previous owner of this body made it this far, but from my memories other than her dead mother there was nothing to hold dear to, except for the fact that she was stupidly waiting for the day her father would look lovingly at her. Unfortunately, she was killed, and here I am.'

"Not really, this will probably be the last time I set foot in that place." She already married out, there was no need to go back there, as for their retribution, karma had its ways.

"Shall we go now?" Crei was ready to go over there to make a scene and get some face for his wife.

Tria knew his intentions, she just laughed at his naughtiness, but still agreed to his request.
