Chapter 22 - The Arrival

"I believe in you..."

Riba watched in horror as Mr. Toruga's bloody limbs collapsed to the ground pathetically.

"MR. TORUGA!!!" They all shouted as they watched while the bandits cackled menacingly.

Riba's heart was beating like a maniac drummer, he could hear it in his ears alongside the ringing. He was gone, just like that, in an instant. Everything else began to fade into a blur, Riba was going to collapse. Faintly, he heard a voice calling to him.

"...ba.....iba....Riba!!" Came the voice, growing less faint and clearer than ever.

It was Gareth, who stood in front of him with his hand outstretched. He was begging for Riba to get up.

"Riba!! We need to get out of here!!"

Riba's vision began to clear and the ringing in his ears ceased until fading away into nothingness.

"Riba!! Come on!!" Gareth continued to shout desperately.

Korra stood beside him, tears in her eyes as she cowered away fearfully. Gareth stood in front of them both with his arms outstretched to protect them from their fierce attackers. The mood they gave off filled them all with a fear so great they could barely move. They cackled again and reeled in their gauntlets like fish lines, approaching the three kids.

"One down, three to go~" One of them laughed.

Riba so dearly wanted to do something. Anything to protect his friends, but he was paralyzed in terror. Suddenly, Gareth took action and leaped forward.

"Beast Connection! Tiger!" He shouted and dashed at them, ducking swiftly as they swing at him with their barbed mitts. As he crouched, he swung his arm up and grab one of their gauntlets, taking it with him as he ran to a tree and wrapped it around it tightly. The man tried to pull it free, but all it did was shake in Gareth's had while the spiked wire around the tree made a weak "klunk" ing noise

"Riba!" Gareth called and darted his eyes to the man, as if to say, "Get him!".

Riba knew what to do, and finally summoned up the strength and courage to move. He charged toward the man and kicked him with both legs, the force sending him slamming into the tree. Gareth quickly wrapped the man up with his own gauntlet and tied him tight. They had both neglected to remember that there was another man, but their memory was refreshed at the sound of his gauntlet swishing. Riba turned to see it soaring straight toward his face. He braced for impact, but was saved by a sudden rock wall emerging from the ground to block it, saving him from his gruesome demise.

"Korra!" Riba cheered, and looked to her.

This made the man angrier; he ripped his gauntlet from the stone and beelined for Korra. He was too fast, and at that pace, he couldn't be stopped and Korra wouldn't be saved in time. She screamed and braced herself, but was saved as the man was struck by a powerful blow to the face. Mr. Toruga stood in front of her with his fist outstretched and reddened caused by the force he just delivered.

"YOU'RE ALIVE!!" Riba practically shrieked and ran over to hug him.

"But how?!" Gareth shouted as he ran over as well.

"Skilled warriors with powerful magic can learn Techniques from different Classes. I used - "

"The Duplication Technique from the Mystery Class." Korra interrupted, breathing a sigh of relief and hugging him too.

"I apologize for not stepping in sooner, but I had to give off the illusion that I was dead so they'd drop their guard."

"Because a bunch of kids aren't a threat, right?" Gareth scoffed and crossed his arms.

"Well, I wouldn't say THAT."

They looked over to the body parts of Mr. Toruga's twin, which disappeared into a puff of smoke.

"Thank goodness you're alright..." Riba sighed in relief.

"Nah, I won't die on you. It won't be that easy to get rid of me." He chuckled. "However, I'd like to express how proud I am, you did well fending for yourselves. Maybe you're not as susceptible as I thought."

They all frowned at him.

"Sorry. Let's just round these guys up and hand them over to the authorities so they can be dealt with properly."

The men grunted angrily as they trudged along with the valiant Warrior's, tied up in their own chains in humiliation. At last, they had arrived at the bustling and grand city of Mosu. Perched atop the mountainside, it was once a calm and peaceful setting, until the Swift Terrors began their relentless and mercilessness attacks on the innocents who were just trying to get by in life. They now live in constant fear, and continuously mend their structures due to vicious raids. With luck, the outsiders may be of assistance in putting this threat to an end.

"Thank you very much! These guys are members of the Swift Terrors!" said the lawman with a relieved grin.

"Oh really?" said Mr. Toruga, clearly unaware, but glad he caught the right guys.

"Yes! Now that they're under our jurisdiction, we could possibly get some information out of their garbage filled mouths."

"We're here to put an end to these bandits, so don't worry, we'll get the required information."

The lawman nodded and escorted the grumbling bandits off to their new home, prison.

"Alright, let's head to the inn and sleep in a real bed." Mr. Toruga told his students and began to walk.

"Yeah!!!" They cheered and followed.
