I stayed in bed later than usual this morning. Can I be blamed? The events of last night were still on my mind. Eventually, my mothers roaring shouts were about to make my ears bleed, so I reluctantly hurled myself out of bed and trudged down the stairs. Mother and father were sitting at the table with wide grins on their faces. Feeling incredibly uncomfortable, I hesitantly took a seat and bit into a slice of bread.
"What...?" I finally spoke up, no longer able to handle the awkward situation.
"Aren't you excited?!" Father laughed.
"About what...?"
"Did you already forget?" Mother asked.
My mind was like a desert. Blank. So I continued to chew on my bread awkwardly.
"Remember? The Warrior Institution?!" Father blurted out.
It all flooded back. A while back my father had signed me up to join the Warrior Institution. I could barely contain my excitement and almost leaped out of my chair.

I think it's time I told you more about myself. My name is Riba Cecil. I'm fifteen, and son of "Kanan the Blade". They call him that because he's absolutely incredible with a sword. Take it from me. I have a lot to live up to because people expect me to be like him. My mother isn't a warrior, but she's still awesome in her own way. I've got my father's hair, while I have my mother's eyes. Don't think I'm becoming a warrior to show off these looks. The reason I'm becoming a warrior is that I want to help people. Sure we have lots of warriors in the world, but they don't seem to be doing their job good enough, because the monsters and evildoers keep coming back after being defeated. When I become a warrior, I'll make sure those damned villains and monsters never come back. You can count on it.

After breakfast, I went to my best friend Gareth's house. We've known each other since Kindergarten. The two of us are going to the Warrior Institution together. Since it was the last day of summer, we spent the day having fun around the village and fantasizing about what we would do once we became warriors. However, our conversation took a sad turn.
"Have you heard the stories about the place?" Gareth frowned.
I looked at him, confused.
"Apparently it's incredibly hard to graduate. I heard that 150 kids got expelled for not having potential."
"Really...?" I gulped.
He nodded with widened eyes.
Guess this is gonna be harder than I thought.
