Scarlett flicked her whip before striking at the candles. As the whip strikes the candles only one of eight goes out. Scarlett became frustrated as she stared at them.
"Arg! Why can't I hit them?"
Logan walked over to her. "Calm yourself and don't think of hitting them all, just focus on striking the one on the end. You will get it don't worry."
Scarlett whipped her head him, "easy for you to say! you probably figured it out on your first try!?" She snapped.
Logan sighed as he looked at her. "It took me ten years to not even whip my own ass. Let alone figure out how to snuff out eight candles in one strike. That took me five years to master."
Scarlett choked as she heard what he said. "S-sorry it's just frustrating not being able to figure out what is the right thing to do or not."
Logan touched her shoulder, "I know, you might be a noble from another kingdom and I a king. But every person thinks the same at one point or another. Besides, you have learned more than I ever did within a short time."
Lance came crashing down beside them. Both of them looked over in shock as Lance got up rubbing his rear. "That hurt."
"Are you ok Lance?"
"Yeah, I will be fine how's your training going? Hopefully, it's going better than mine." Lance looked over to see Whirlwind land beside him. Lance reached over and scratched under his chin.
Scarlett sighed as she readied herself. "It's about the same, I think. I am struggling with this one move."
She closed her eyes and strikes, all eight went out. Logan slowly clapped his hands. "Very good now you just have to repeat that ninety-nine more times to have it apart of your muscle memory."
Lance smiled as she looked in amazement. "I did it…"
"Yeah, now I have to get going if I am going to keep up," Lance said as he got up on Whirlwind. The griffon let out a screech before spreading his wings. "See you later Scarlett and keep it up!"
Whirlwind flapped his wings, sending dust into the air as Scarlett smiled finding renew confidence. She ordered for the candles to be relit as she readied herself. Scarlett continued until lunch rolled around. Where she joined Lance. Lance was covered in dirt and bruises. As he tried to eat, Lance winced in pain.
Scarlett noticed that Eledon sat down beside Lance as the food was placed in front of him. "Lance, you seem to not be able to understand to not force yourself to stay on. Allowing you to fall time and time again."
Lance glared at his father. "Well, it would help if you would not nag at me when I am up in the air."
Scarlett blink as she watches Lance begin to argue with his father. She never realized how much they were at each other. Scarlett could not help but crack a smile at them, which in turn to laughter. Lance and Eledon stopped to look at her then each other. They were confused at her reaction.
"Scarlett, are you okay?" Lance asked.
Scarlett composed herself. "Yeah, it's just that you two are a riot. when I notice how stubborn you two as you fight." She wiped a tear away. "You two are so much alike where it is uncanny."
Eledon blushed as he coughed. "Well, he is my son after all."
Logan entered the room as he listened to their conversation. "Eledon, I think you are being overprotective with Lance. he seems to be able to fly his griffon fairly easily when he is not being harped at?"
Eledon gagged as he turned to beat red. "W-well, I-I…" He cleared his throat. "your right, maybe by me I should pull back."
Logan smile, "Yes, and let someone else take over his training?" Logan turned to introduce a woman. "This is—"
"Marie!" Lance called out as he stood from his seat.
Marie smiled as she looked over at him. "It is good to see you, Lance."
Lance ran over to her, "What—how—when?"
Marie raised her hands. "Whoa, whoa there. King McKnight asked his majesty to send someone that could train you in the art of griffon warfare? And I so happen to be the only one he could spare."
Lance pulled back when he noticed who beautiful Marie was, her long, dark hair and her soft blue eyes captivated him. Marie stared at him as Scarlett smirked.
"This is great to know that you two already know each other, making introductions easier. King Orville seemed pleased to help as he said that the heir would have done the same." Logan raised his brow.
Scarlett smiled, "That's because one of our friends if the prince of Gold Heart. Our friend Zero Foxtail." Scarlett got up as she looked over at them. "Besides, I need to get back to training—"
"Your father sends his regards and well wishes Lady Scarlett De Rosier."
Scarlett softly smiled, "Thank you, when you return Marie, please tell him that I miss him and hope he—"
Marie walked up to her. "Your father will be here within two weeks to establish an action plan to help in the war you are a part of? You will get to talk to him for a while. As he is excited to see you and how much you have grown."
Scarlett went pale as she heard those words. "Oh, I see."
Lance could tell she was not too thrilled at the idea of her father being near her. Marie sighed as she walked out of the room, Lance followed behind as they went to start his training.
