Kyle and Hunter could hear the footsteps of soldiers chasing them as they duck and dodge the bullets, arrows and magic. As well as the branches of the forest. Hunter stumbled as an arrow whizzed by his face, penetrating the tree beside him. Hunter turned around to see where they were, while Kyle helped him to his feet. Hunter regains his footing as they went deeper into the woods.
"Stop, you fiends!" One of the soldiers called out, raising his gun as to fire at them. He lined up his shot, then fired.
Kyle and Hunter noticed a cliff edge and stopped just short of going over. Kyle went to look back, but only heard the sound of a gun firing off. As he turned the bullet hit his shoulder, Hunter went to grab him, but the two lost their footing and fell down the edge of the cliff. The soldiers rushed over to see if they were dead or alive as Hunter and Kyle fell into mist bellow. Hunter clenched Kyle Close as they fell into the water, that was waiting below the mist.
A young girl screamed as they fell into the water. Another girl jumped into the water and Fished the boys out. Kyle groaning in pain as Hunter lies on the ground, exhausted and passed out from the impact. Kyle opened his eye slightly to see what was happening. He could see that the girl that saved them was telling the other girl soothing, but he could not understand what she was saying as he began to lose continence.
"Hang in there, I—" Kyle blacked out at her words.
Kyle began to open his eyes as light streamed in. Forcing him to shut them once more before lifting himself up. He looked around to see that no was around. He looked over to the door to see someone pulling the cloth back from the door. A young woman walked through, she stared at Kyle before letting out a scream.
Kyle jumped back as she ran off. He felt a sharp pain shoot through his body, causing Kyle to keel over. Hunter ran into the room with another person.
"Kyle, are you okay?" Hunters' voice seemed to soothe the pain as a wave of relief wafted over him.
Kyle leaned back, "Yeah, I'll be fine, just, where are we?"
The woman from before walked up to him. "You're in my home on the outskirts of the village, Silverwolf." Her voice soft and course as she stood behind Hunter. "A-ah, I'm sorry, my name is Freya."
Kyle looked at her, "Thank you, Freya—Oomph."
A young girl jumped onto Kyle, "Ella! No—stop that!" Freya franticly pulled Elle off Kyle as Hunter stood watching, not knowing what just happened. "I am so sorry about my little sister. She is usually well behaved." Freya spoke through her teeth as Ella smiled at her.
Kyle looked up at her, "It's fine. I was just caught off guard."
Hunter sat beside him in disbelief as he sighed heavily. "You seditiously need to not scare me. I don't know what I would have done if you died after the gunshot."
Kyle looked at his shoulder to see it was bandaged.
"But, now that we have that out of the way, how did you two get here?"
Kyle looked at Hunter, "We were running from the Faremin scouts."
Freya crossed her arms, confused. "Faremin? What or who is that?"
Kyle and Hunter looked at each other in disbelief. "Wait, you don't know of the Kingdom known as Faremin when your village is literally inside—sorry part of the Kingdom?"
Freya placed a finger on her chin, "Nope, never heard of it or any place outside of the comfort of our forest. So, you could say I am ignorant to the world around me. Yet, we never have had a need to contact the outside world."
Kyle shook his head as he tried to make sense of what was going on. His mind turned to the name of the village, Silverwolf. "Silverwolf, now where did I hear that name?"
"Kyle? what's wrong?"
"Yeah, what's wrong, mister?"
"Ella!" Freya barked. "It is none of your business on what going on in hear, and you still have chores before you can have some lunch!"
Ella moaned as she left.
"Is she always like that?" Hunter asked, raising his brow at Ella.
Freya sighed, "No, she was much more—um, well, wanting to help out. Then about a week or two ago we were exiled out of the main part of the village after the elder told us that Ella defiled some sacred place. I don't know for sure?"
Kyle watches Freya as she looked down at her hands. "Do you know what this sacred place is called?"
Freya shook her head.
"I see, well at least you have your family—"
"Our parents are dead since Ella was a day old, eight years ago."
Kyle turned away from her, "Oh, I'm terribly sorry about that. I was—"
AWOOooOOoooOO!!!
Freya jumped to her feet, "Oh no, Ella!"
Hunter followed Freya out the door as Kyle winced in pain as he tried to get out of the bed. When he noticed something off the side under some sheets. He found the strength to move closer, as Kyles's hand drew close the sound of pups yipping caught his attention. He pulled the cover of it. He noticed two animals the size of a medium dog lay before him.
"Ah! Oh, no!" Ella came running in as Kyle stared at the pups.
He then grabbed Ella by the collar of her gown. "You fool, do you have any idea what you have done!?"
Ella puffer her cheeks. "I found them, and you can't say otherwise—"
"Their Dymo Wolves, an enormously large and extremely dangerous beast. And since these two are still nursing, their mother—a horse-sized or bear-sized beast will kill anyone who gets between it and their babies!"
Ella looked at Kyle, her face still puffed, "I don't care."
Kyle hung his head before staring her intensely into her eyes, "Would like your life and your sisters or the fact the will be her killer and everyone you love just to keep these wild wolf pups?"
Fear filled Ella's eyes, as she looked at the pups, "But Fenrir said I could help her raise them…"
Kyle raised his brow, confused. "Fenrir? Who is that?"
"Ella, Ella! Where are—Oh thank the goddess, you are all right."
Kyle stepped back as Freya looked over her sister. Hunter rushed in after her, he looked over to see the pups. Freya noticed them too. Then they turned to Ella.
"Ella, where did you get these?"
"From Fenrir."
Kyle touched Freya's shoulder when the pain shot threw him. "Who is Fenrir?" Kyle wheezed out before Freya rushed to get a chair.
Ella stared at the floor. "Fenrir is their mommy. She needs them to find a safe place to hide from a big mean wolf from beyond the forest. Or so she told me."
