oiceLovell felt his heart sank as he walked over to Ark. Grabbing him by the arm. "Ark—are you sure its Azoth?"
Ark's eyes stiff as he answered, "Yes, and Hunter is with him. I am going to take care of the dragon." Ark looked at Lau. "Sir, the men are dealing with the undead."—Lau closed his eyes as the word rang out— "We need to act before it's too late!"
Lau shot his eyes open, "Lovell, your friends will help my men, you and Fang will deal with Hunter," Turning to Ark, Lau became stiff. "Take care of that dragon then—" Lau stared at Ark as he closed his eyes. "Then take care of Azoth, even if it means he is killed."
Ark nodded as he left. Fang walked over to Lovell and gestured for them to go. Lovell turned back at the others; they all nodded as he ran off with Fang to find Hunter. He left the others to help Ark's the onslaught of undead, pouring into the camp. Lovell ducked and dodged as he and Fang made their way through.
Fang skidded to a stop, looking up he stared up to Hunter creating the army. Lovell reached Fang and looked at where he, as staring at, Lovell could feel his heart sink.
Hunter looked down at them, knowing that he had to play his part for Azoths plan to succeed. He made his way to them and stood facing them.
Lovell noticed Fang gripping his sword as Hunter drew close. Lovell stepped forward, blocking Fangs advance. "Tell me, Hunter, what is Azoth's plan here, and why are you involved?" Hunters' face grew cold as he stared at him. Lovell glazed over at Fang, seeing his eyes hunger to kill. "Tell me, Hunter, do you want this lively hood, or do you want something else?!" Lovell clenched his first, drawing blood as the frustration built within.
Hunter shut his eyes and gritted his teeth before hearing at Fang. "It seems you have grown soft over the years, Fang?" doing everything in his power not to look at Lovell.
Fang went to charge, but Lovell stopped him. "You are the one who has become soft HU-NT-3T!" Lovell dug his feet as he held Fang back. "Let me go, you scraggly, MUTT!" Lovell felt an uneasy tension from Fang, letting him go in the process.
Fang shoved Lovell to the ground as he charged at Hunter. Lovell landed hard in the ground; he could not move from the utter terror from Fang's voice. 'What should I do? If I don't stop this, I will not be able to save Hunter from Demora's grasp.' Lovell closed his eyes, tears welling up as he felt helpless to do anything. The sound of the cries of battle and death surrounded him. Lovell could hear a faint voice calling out as sat there, wallowing in frustration.
"Lovell move…Lovell get…get up, Lovell" the words echoed closer Lovell looked up to see Luna running towards him as Fang and Hunter fought between them. "Lovell, you must help Ark! He's in danger!"
Hunter glanced at Luna as she stopped, Fang growing charged him again, knocking his weapon free. Hunter jumped back, whistling for his dragon. The dragon flew to him, injured and bleeding heavily. Fang stared hungrily at him as Lovell stood up running between them. Fangs blade piercing Lovell's chest, through his heart. Fang's rage dissipated as he saw what he was doing. Luna gasped as Fang pulled the blade back. Hunter stood in shock as he watches what had just unfolded. Lovell saved him; Hunter stood confused into why Lovell would do such a thing. Shaking his head as he mounts Harpoon, flying off before they could make any more moves towards him.
Fang grabbed Lovell by the collar, Lovell winced as the wound was still healing. "Why the hell did you do that, Lovell!?" Lovell could only stare as his body burned from the pain.
Luna grabbed Fang's arm. "This is not the time! Ark is in danger, because…"
Fang let go of Lovell, Lovell stubbled back as he turned to Luna. "Because why, Luna?" he choked, gripping his chest.
Lina's face grew cold, "Hunter was a distraction for you two, the target is Ark. if we don't hurry Ark might—" Lovell rushed past her; Luna went to ask where he was going, but as she did Lovell flashed stepped away. Luna gripped her chest as Fang watched her. Turning to where Lovell last stood before him, questioning Lovell's integrity.
Every steep Lovell made worry filled him. The thoughts of the day he lost Morris played over in his mind. 'No, not again,' the flash of Morris's final moments ringing, 'I will not let it happen again,' He stopped searching desperately for Ark and Azoth. 'I will not let it happen to Ark!' Lovell went to move, but the pain from his wound brought him to his knees. 'No, I must keep moving.' Gritting his teeth, Lovell stood up as sweat ran down his face. The sound of metal clashing caught his attention. He turned to then; he could see Azoth charging. Lovell knew that he was fighting Ark. Lovell used flash steps again to get closer to help Ark.
As he drew closer, Ark dodged Azoths attack, then striking back himself. Their weapons locked in a struggle Ark looked at his old friend. "Why are you doing this, Terrance?" their arms sliding as they jumped back. "Answer me?!"
Azoth's eyes, cold and disdain as he stared at Ark. Lovell could only watch as he could feel the tension in the air. "Because I can and you—no, no one can ever hope to stop me, my Lord will get what he wants, and that is that." Azoth closed his eyes. "The man you once knew is long dead and can never come back." He lifted his hand, pointing it at Ark. Ark readied himself as a swirl of ominous mana surrounded Azoth's hand and forearm. "Goodbye, old friend." A blast of magic shot off his head, forming into a wolf head with a trial of ky behind it.
Lovell tried to move to stop the attack, but the pain stopped him in his tracks. Making him fall to his knees, lifting his head towards Ark. "AAAAAARRRRRRRRK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tears were rushing down his face.
Ark lowered his weapon, smiling as he looked at Lovell. "I always cared about you as a son, stupid boy." As the attack pricing his heart, killing him.
Lovell screamed as a blinding light emanated from his body. Azoth turned to Lovell as the light turned into a tower of pure ky energy. Azoth gritted his teeth as he walked away. Hunter looked out over to the camp, seeing the tower of mana, as Harpoon drew his last breathes. Luna and Fang watched in horror as they say the tower. Scarlett, Gale, Zephyr, Zero and Lance all turned to the tower as did all of the others. They all stared at it fear to grip them as a blast washed over the area. Kill and dispelling the undead soldiers. The wounded healed, fires wiped, and damage tents repaired.
Lua stared at the tower. "Lovell." He knew what happened by what was happening. Tears poured down his face. "If only you were in time maybe…just maybe things would have turned out differently."
Two days had passed, Lovell walked over to Ark's body, tears escaping. "Ignitous Flariote." The pyre engulfed in fire. Lovell stood there, remembering Ark's last words, closing his eyes in anguish. "You idiotic fool." His friends could only watch him as he fell to his knees, knowing nothing they do or say could change what had happened.
Lua walked up to Lovell, placing his hand on his shoulder. "What is the plan now, Lovell?"
Lovell wiped his tears, then stood up, turning to his friends. "We are going to the train our butts off, then find Hunter and bring him to our side." Lovell smiled; his companions laughed as they could see he was not ready to give up yet. "that's our first step, then we will gather more allies and ready ourselves to stop my grandfather."
The others nodded as Fang questioned Lovell's motives. Lua smiled. "So, then, where are you going to go train then?"
Lovell turned to the Evermore Forest. "We will go to my brother, Kratos for that, besides it might be good to get to know him more and my mother possibly." Lua nodded as he walked away, leaving Lovell and the others.
The next day they left for the forest to get the needed training to help them succeed in their mission.
Hunter woke to see Harpoon's lifeless body next to him. He got up and heading off away from the camp, stumbling away from the rising sun…
